OK, let me see if I understand this.

The Vaen imprisoned Harbinger IN the Maelstrom. The more ether in the Maelstrom, the stronger the prison. As more people are born, the more ether escapes the Maelstrom, weakening the whole thing.

The Church (offshoot of Order of Leonar) cares about humanity and wants them to be safe. They cure people, ensure their safety, and thus the population grows. This weakens the cage. The Vaen then destroy humanity, thus strengthening the cage.

And we do this cycle in perpetuity because if humanity is cut down as their tech improves they will never find the weapon to destroy Harbinger for good.

Of course Frederik is pulling a Lelouch.

It is filming for a TV show. Creating false drama? Ohhhh no.

Scorpion can only cause a -7 at worst. Given how quickly it is played it is typically a -4 or so for total board presence.

Order of Leonar did help to create the Church, but it seems the Church itself is now split. Some people (the Pope, Markas) want to kill the Vaen and then await the resurrection of Harbinger? Others really follow the whole idea of the Order of Leonar and are looking for ways to kill Harbinger.

Also, Kylian stole the Grimoire and brought it BACK to King Frederick, all to gain power? Is he going to try to kill the Generals and Frederick to become the King of Valandis? Such Delita vibes from Kylian.

Oh, and Ba'Thraz murdered the Pope and tried to murder Markas. XD

Thinking about a Sera Quinjet deck. Cards like Agent 13, Coulson, Moongirl seem like good fits, but I'd also need a few jard hitters.

Both Collector and Bishop also seem like good picks because they could keep growing. Gonna experiment a little with it.

i'm a little behind, but i just can't believe these announcers think the pens are a harder matchup for boston than the islanders.

Islanders are missing one of their best players as far as I know, and the Pens have one of the best players of the 21st century who could always go off.

He says that Gwayn stole the Grand Grimoire to destroy the Vaen, because while Harbinger remains asleep, the Vaen continue to ravage humankind over and over.

The Vaen gave away the Grimoire willingly before to allow the near apocalypse over and over. This most recent time Gwayn STOLE it though.

Thus why they could smell Gwayn on Glenn.

Now whoever else is here and trying to fill in some history says the Vaen USED to care about humanity and all that, but they fear Humanity getting too strong. They are now fearful and started wars and are playing humans off one-another to ensure they never grow TOO strong.

I could see that, as part of taking care of the world they see humanity as a risk so they need to think about everything and hold off the growth of humanity.

Oh wait, the Vaen said the stone is not designed to destroy Harbinger. But then they flipped out over Glenn?! It seems HE was the one (either he or his past life) who stole the Grand Grimoire from them?

Leonar Heroes failed to destroy Harbinger, but found a way to banish him. The Vaen uses their considerable magic power to develop a spell to imprison him, but the seal would not last forever. To watch over the seal and the world they MOVED TO ANOTHER DIMENSION AND GAINED IMMORTALITY?!?

Others took on the task of finding a weapon against Harbinger while it was imprisoned? It would take thousands of years. They developed way to ensure this information would last, by forcing a soul through the Maelstrom with memories intact to keep that knowledge moving forward in time.

The Grand Grimoire might he the weapon they developed that could take out Harbinger? Maybe? But then humans are using it like a bunch of idiots... but they don't know anything about it.

Gwayn guides us through the ruins just to bail at the last minute cause it is too dangerous?

Also if we are like resurrections of people who are working with Gods, didn't Gwayn say he wants to kill the gods?

In their patch notes they said they have ideas for Shuri but it would be part of a major patch, not a hot fix.

I don't have a deck that uses Gamora but that is an awesome variant.

I love how the game is like, "It would be silly for the church to create monsters just to force people to find faith in them to save them FROM the monsters, it must be something else!"

... I am guessing the Church knows that Harbinger is coming and are trying to create a monster equal to it? Or to destroy the Kings?
