Ok, c'mon man. Last topic got purged like Friday night dinner.

This. Is. April!

Surely you haven't given up...

Me, you know, I been drinking beer and just doing my normal thing and I'm still 309! I can't explain how I took all those beer calories.

I started last friday to lose weight

When i weighed then, i was at 319 pounds, when earlier in my life i was 326 or something like that

I'm trying to do the 16/8 hour diet where i only eat in an 8 hour window, i also walk for an hour a day

I measured myself this morning and I'm at 315

So thats progress?

Yeah it's progress, good job! We sound like we're in the same weight class, so I know what you mean.
In December I was 325, now I'm 309. Only changed my diet a little, and a little physical activity.

Just make sure you don't drink your calories.

Thank you!

I used to drink nothing but soda, but one night when i woke up severely thirsty i knew that had to change

So then i started drinking some water in between sodas

And then it used to be mostly water, with a soda can once a day

Now i drink mostly water, and sip maybe, 1/3rd of a can? 1/4th a can a day? mostly to get that caffiene for my addiction, but i hope it helps! I hope we both get to sub 300!

  • Treat it like a lifestyle change and not a diet (diet has a negative connotation where you're going to eat things you hate, and also has a temporary feel)
  • Calorie counting (I use Lose It! which is a free app)
  • Use exercise bike/go for walks for at least 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week
  • Eat out a LOT less. So much sodium and sugar is in American foods and it's even harder to dodge when you're eating out. I also try to limit how much sodium and sugar I intake every day to recommended daily values
  • Get better sleep and cut out caffeine
  • Most importantly, you have to want to lose weight to begin with

Just personally, I was using caffeine to patch up bad sleeping habits

I still have it every once in a while, but don't use it as a substitute for a proper sleep schedule

Awesome! That's exactly how I got off soda. I do drink in moderation like you were saying. I mostly drink Topo Chico mineral water. I like the phizz of the soda with none of the calories.

Nothing wrong with that. Plenty of people lose weight simply because they're unhappy with how they look. In the end, getting to a healthier weight is a good thing.

What pushed me to start losing weight was that I was almost too big for some of the theme park seats... And I really love theme parks >_>

What's your ultimate goal?
175lbs which is about 25lbs from where I normally/currently hover.

Also, when I go off my diet, I tend to get a good amount of strength gains that I actually keep. So I'm definitely also gaining some muscle. My clothes fit tighter in arms/shoulders and loose in the tummy area to confirm. So I may actually look how I want at like 185lbs. Beginning of the year I was at like 215. So I'm headed in the right direction for sure at least.

Tl;dr: I want to be shredded

6ft1, 187lbs. I'm not skinny, but I train and I want to pack on some serious bulk and enter my daddy years.

I'll be honest, I don't meticulously track my diet and I'm aware that's the issue. I hit my protein goal every day and I just try to get in extra meals, but I found on holiday I was eating at everyone else's pace rather than my own, so rather than 5 meals a day I'd get in 2 or 3.
