There's always someone getting richer and richer no matter the platform.

Do you own a home?
Assets like homes have to keep going up for the rich to get richer. The system has to do it as that is whole point of the capitalist system. Homes won't crash. Even when they dip the rich will buy them out more.
Only a failing at every level causes a reset but that means the system itself broke people starve in mass and die and banks go out of business in a great depression.

Do you have kids? If you do you should be worried how things are shaping for them. Even if you leave them a home to inherit they will have a hard time paying their property taxes with what is coming.

Otherwise, it's feudalism all over again.

So you admit this next gen never being able to afford actual land means Capitalism is dead and we are now in Feudalism?
Watched a guy last night who said that is how it is. Most young people will never own a home unless they born to the right family. This is Feudalism.

Paying to start your car: a dystopian fantasy or the not-too-distant future?

In principle, so-called in-car microtransactions are no different from in-app purchases you make to upgrade, say, your VPN service to have a better speed and more locations. The problem, however, is that some carmakers arent just adding flashy new features and putting them behind paywall they are starting to take away features that are usually free.

In 2018, BMW drew massive backlash after it introduced a yearly subscription fee for Apple CarPlay, a smartphone integration system that most other carmakers, including Kia and Mazda, made standard. BMW argued that the $80 annual subscription fee would allow it to keep the base cost of new BWMs at bay but autolovers were not having it. A year later, BMW backpedaled on its plan.

One could argue that once you have splashed on a luxury car, then you have to bear whatever additional costs are thrown your way. But it is one thing for luxury automakers to behave outrageously; another, perhaps more worrisome, is that mainstream brands have also caught on to this trend and are now trying to monetize what little software they have rather than pursue innovation. This approach seems dubious, and we are far from alone in thinking so.

Last year, the worlds largest automaker, Toyota, found itself on the receiving end of a torrent of criticism after it bundled a key fob remote start with one of its subscription packages. The feature allows drivers to warm up a vehicles engine without actually getting into the car. Toyota initially confirmed the functionality would become part of a paid subscription and cost Toyota owners $8 a month. After the plan was met with outrage, Toyota claimed that the inclusion of the key fob remote start in the subscription plan was an inadvertent result of a relatively small technical decision, and promised to review it.

from comments of video an interesting case and point:

one example that is truly horrfying to me is when companies like monsanto own seeds and sue
innocent farmers for growing from seeds in the fruits they grew.

its bizarre. how lays could copywright a potatoe. a whole potatoe type and farmers were taken to court for just growing a potatoe.

As more automakers put factory features behind paywall, were racing towards a bleak future

https://adguard.com/en/blog/subscriptions-cars-mercedes-netflix.html

The future is you rent everything because that is more profitable.

Notice you no longer own a bunch of cds, dvds, etc. (maybe you do but average person don't)
That is because you being a subcriber to Netflix or Spotify is more profitable.

Look at how they keep pushing digital games. You don't own a digital game, you rent it. They can void your license anytime they want as Sony proved.

Now stupid consumers will buy these dumb cars and it will turn out that we start getting Refrigerators that have microtransactions and even toasters.
Look at your phones. Do you own your smart phone or you just renting it from the carrier? Even if you own it, does it work without a monthly fee to the carrier?

How about where you live? You renting?

Welcome to

Own nothing and be happy

Similar to how you see some house prices lowering now but if you take a loan out now you are paying way more interest than people who had bought even just a year ago.

There simply does not always need to be shitty jobs.

What makes a job shit is bad compensation.

For example, Oil Rig work is not considered a shit job because they are highly compensated for that work and all the issues and dangers.

Edit: well I think they are highly conpensated ai guess I just assume it since they rarely seem to make a fuss and always heard get on of overtime and base salary to compare to white collar jobs
