| RchHomieQuanChi 10/25/22 6:48:45 PM #1 | It's like this weird mix of relief, regret, anger, sadness and bitterness and yet I still can't totally break free because we have this apartment together (dumbest decision I've ever made). The big argument today was her demanding that I get a second stream of income to help cover bills, even though I already cover $1000 out of our $1650 in rent (and even then, there were times where I'd have to chip in 100-200 more), as well as half of our $400 electricity bills (thanks Texas). When I told her I wasn't going to do that because I wanted to focus my energy on my main job (which is my career job) and learning job relevant skills outside of work, she blew up at me and accused me of not being willing to sacrifice for her. Part of me knows this shit is toxic, but part of me also wants it to work out in the end? IDK, just in a really weird place. --- I have nothing else to say |

Its people shining a light on any perceived slight, dragging up old ones from years ago, and trying to drum up a mob psychology to get the person fired/cancelled/boycotted/otherwise in trouble. It happens all the time. There is nothing wrong with people with similar views on an issue rallying together to boycott something or someone they find abhorrent. And there's also plenty of times where it doesn't work because most people don't find what that person did to be that bad, such as with James Gunn. Usually the "cancel" part comes in when a company finds someone to be enough of a financial liability to drop them, and it's perfectly acceptable for them to do that. But these "mobs" don't have any real power beyond voting with their wallet, which is why bringing up "cancel culture" as a valid political concern is kinda ridiculous tbh. Especially in the face of conservatives with real power actually trying to ban or censor things (and usually on the basis of "I don't agree with your lifestyle" and not anything actually harmful). --- I have nothing else to say |
