Trump and his campaign were spreading lies about Dominion voting machines around the 2020 election, and especially so after the vote counts started to go Biden's way. Fox News hosts had Trump and multiple Trump campaign officials (Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, Jenna Ellis, etc.) on the air spreading those lies. The Fox News hosts, directors, board, etc. knew they were lies but they kept furthering the lies any way. They were more concerned about losing their audience to NewsMax and One America News than they were about lying to their audience.

Sidney Powell, for example, said something along the lines of Dominion machines were programmed to change votes from Trump to Biden and a number of other ridiculous things. It turns out her source for this information was some batshit crazy lady who claimed she "experienced time travel in a semi-conscious state," "the wind told her she's a ghost, but she doesn't believe it," and that she was "internally decapitated" at some point in her life.

Internal messaging from Fox News hosts (Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, and Sean Hannity) showed that they knew all of that stuff was batshit crazy, but they did nothing to push back on the claims at all.

Fox News is also being sued by Smartmatic for pretty much the same reasons, and that's an even bigger lawsuit ($2.7 billion).

Personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable owning two or more properties that I couldn't afford on my own even if one of them was being rented out to someone. It just spells eventual disaster if you're relying on a stranger to keep a stable job/life to avoid foreclosure.

Correct term is a derivative action. Shareholders cannot sue their own company (cause that would be like suing yourself) so there is no such thing as a "shareholder suit." Instead, shareholders can apply to court for leave to act on behalf of the company and sue those who have wronged the company, including the company's own directors and officers.

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A motion was filed Tuesday morning by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to disqualify an attorney who refused to offer immunity deals to electors who allegedly cast false votes for Donald Trump after the 2020 election.

The motion was filed to disqualify attorney Kimberly Burroughs Debrow from the case that has arisen from Willis special grand jury investigation into Trumps alleged election interference.
The status quo that existed whereby Ms. Debrow represents 10 of the electors has changed, and problems have arisen whereby such representations is now untenable, the motion said.

The motion said Debrow told prosecutors back on Aug. 5, 2002, that none of her clients were interested in immunity; Holly Pierson was also Debrows co-counsel at that time. The motion said the attorneys reported back about potential offers of immunity from prosecution and that none of their clients were interested.

But last week, the motion said some of those electors told Fulton prosecutors that no potential offer of immunity was ever brought to them in 2022, which is in direct conflict with Ms. Debrows co-counsel Ms. Piersons representation to this court in August 2022.

Basically, the Fulton County, DA offered immunity deals to some of the fake electors last summer. A lawyer who represents 10 of them said none of her clients were interested in immunity deals. As of last week, multiple of those 10 clients said they weren't ever made aware of the immunity deals offered. So the DA filed a motion to disqualify the lawyer from the case.

Also, at least a few of the fake Trump electors are accusing at least one other fake Trump elector of violating state law. I'm trying to find more info because it's unclear if one fake Trump elector is being implicated or if multiple are getting thrown under the bus.

Like others said, I don't care about Dominion either way, but Fox News needs to be brought to task for the shit they've done. I would have had more respect for Dominion if they had forced this to go to trial.

The judge is back, waiting for the jury to be ready to come back in. I like how the silence took damn near the entirety of the time where I could have listened closely. There isn't enough time left today for a 90 minute opening statement if they're ending at 4:30pm eastern.

Judge Eric Davis has formally appointed a special master to investigate Fox News over its handling of discovery, nearly a week after he scolded the media company for not turning over evidence in a timely fashion.

Davis tapped Delaware litigator John Elzufon to look into whether Fox complied with its discovery obligations heading into the defamation trial, according to the filing.
The special master can depose whomever he wishes and all those costs must be paid by Fox, as Davis explained from the bench last week.

Elzufon must provide a written report regarding the investigation no later than 4 p.m. ET on May 15.

This has been demonstrated enough by now that this can be considered an objective truth.

I really don't have a problem with people owning guns for their own protection, but I don't feel like we as a society are mature enough to make the claim that everyone should have guns.

This is pretty historic. A major network getting called out in a court of law for a systematic disinformation campaign aka lying out their ass. I can't think of anything comparable in American history.

Yeah, I think this is going to be one of the most consequential trials of our lifetimes. And then Smartmatic is following this up with a $2.7 billion lawsuit against Fox News and a few others.

Although, when 1:30 eastern comes, I doubt I'll be able to resist trying to listen to both the trial and the training meeting.

A two-day break will happen on May 4th and 5th because the judge has a prior engagement that he has to attend.

The judge says each day will start at 9:30 eastern for now, but the time may be moved up if there is a good flow going. Each day will end at 4:30 eastern unless there are some brief questions to be asked at that time.

It's not laziness. As GrandConjuration said, most Americans don't have the luxury of taking time off work to go protest. Many also have jobs where they can't take off on a moment's notice to do stuff like protest.
