It's a big difference between the case being written to need to prove the culprit's guilt to exonerate the client, and the game drawing attention to you already about to be acquitted and you demanding more testimony. Generally the idea is that the defense has just proposed a hypothesis of how the murder may have gone differently and you must pin the culprit for the theory to be stronger than the proescution's case. The only time the protagonist asks the case be extended despite an incoming acquittal in the rest of the series to my knowledge is 2-4 due to extreme extenuating circumstances.

Drebber could easily be a final antagonist in a reworked story, in fact the setpieces of this case feel finale worthy, and the Great Exhibition was repeatedly built up to in GAA1. I wonder if some of the rumors of an intended trilogy stem from all this. The return of Kazuma's memories would be a powerful ending point.

Sorry but this testimony where you present the newspaper clip supposedly showing the professor is masked is stupid. The mask isn't drawn at all, the professor is drawn like a demon and described as such in the article. You see his teeth. The face doesn't look like the mask and the only detail indicating the mask may have been included in Drebber's description to the reporter is the dots.
