Why do so many of these things go so far towards the moronic sexual direction? How about a meet and greet in a neutral setting? How about renting a fashion show runway and treating it like that instead of a fucking PG strip club experience? This is something that cannot be so generalized like that. It depends on context. I think it would be a truthful statement that the stereotype of the entitled American isn't false, but I don't really think that's a trait limited to us either.

Its more of their proportions than their actual height. There are some taller women where their legs make up way too much of their height, so it just ends up looking weird.

It's a mixed bag, but seems to heavily trend towards the negative. It certainly doesn't help that you have stupid internet slacktivists who berate anyone who legitimately tries to delve into that mess.

There are an unfortunately large amount of people responding to that statement who feel personally attacked by it, whether they actually display racist behavior or not. For that we need to tell those people that, if they don't think they're racist, then the statement isn't meant for them. That will help the general public not think that the entire fanbase is full of racists.

From a rational, objective standpoint, that makes sense, but we're dealing with a population that largely goes by headlines and instant reactions to said headlines. Basically, all this is doing is fucking with their fanbase at best, or at worst it's actually a purposeful attempt at manipulation like the above tweet speculates.

Disney never said it was a big part of the fanbase, or that it represents the fanbase as a whole. They're just saying that if you are one of the racists who do racist things like harass their black actors, then Disney doesn't need you as a fan. If you're not a racist, then the message isn't about you.

If there's a significant problem in a community, then making public statements make sense. If there's no significant issue, then pointing it out simply alienates people. See the people in this topic acting like Star Wars fans in general are some kind of disgusting mess of a fandom. If through their messaging they put out the incorrect idea that "Star Wars fans are massive, whiny, racist babies," that's going to leak into the public discourse and affect people who are not racist assholes.

Are there any statistics as to how many people are actually doing this? Is this an actual significant part of the fanbase reacting with such hostility, or are people doing the dumb thing where they overblow the negativity and for some reason correlate that with the fanbase at large?

It doesn't contain anything that makes one dependent on it, but it's certainly something that seems to very easily trigger whatever causes generic addiction in some people. People seem to falsely think lack of chemical dependence means you cannot be unhealthily addicted to something.

Why exactly? There are some people who have closer relationships with family friends than uncles/aunts/cousins. I have an uncle I have never met in my life and cousins whose names I legitimately don't know despite having at least met them before.

We're in a hole that no one thing can get us out of, so we're probably taking decades of large and small changes at this point. If we're just talking about what would be most effective at this particular moment, I feel like blocking news outlets from publicizing information about the shooters would help in the cases of planned attacks. Like it or not, we basically turn every single shooter into a major celebrity for weeks on end, which can be a driving force for someone who wants to leave a mark on the world. I just don't know if that's at all realistic with the 1st amendment.

I think people are overplaying the bumbling idiot American trope here. There'd definitely be massive confusion at the whole situation, but we'd eventually regroup and take them out. I guess things might be a little different if "the military" also counts all of their advanced weaponry just disappearing, but I assume both countries would run out of their weaponry long before they made much headway.

I played them all through Rogue and started Black Flag before the formula just kinda stopped doing it for me. Haven't tried any of the new ones. The first game is definitely pretty eh. The 2 trilogy is pretty good. 3 wasn't bad, but it didn't really manage to live up to the trilogy. Rogue was fine. I might have liked Black Flag more if Rogue hadn't already worn me out on boat gameplay. If you're just going to play through the main story without worrying about 100%ing everything, you'll probably make pretty quick work of them, so would probably be good if you like the formula.

Definitely don't feel bad for the murder victim if everything presented about the initial encounter can be believed, but that's definitely murder no matter what. After-the-fact vigilante justice, even against rapists, should never be encouraged.

Even if they were completely inoffensive parents, they're the ones making themselves homeless by making stupid demands. It's not like she was trying to shove them out into a shed.

I'm interested to see if #2 even does well compared to the first one. Are they marketing this another revolution of 3D or are they trying to sell it on its story alone?

Depends on how he lives. There are probably some celebrities that could blow that amount in a few years and some who know their own limitations. Didn't Nicholas Cage blow like 200 million on houses and then lose them all?

Seeing as people can just lie, do they even have any reliability using self-reporting as the basis? Everything should tested before they store it anyway, right?

They were pretty annoying when they were forcing you to use the scale, but pretty much every place I've been to no longer has that requirement. Much quicker now, especially places that have a detachable scanner.

Nobody who is alive today would exist, so guess it depends on how you view yourself and the current form of humanity in this equation.

And for the record the USA is pretty much the only country in the developed nations that has this problem. You literally will be hard pressed to have any other country get a mass shooter every other week on the news. Look at literal China, they have like 3-4 times out population. They have angry people and issues, just like the rest of us. They have guns in movies and video games, a firearms culture just like us. And they don't have nearly a big of an issue of gun violence than we do. So your point that gun control and more restrictions doesn't help in anything is BULLSHIT

What realistic laws could filter out less than 0.000002% of the population? This is not an issue affecting major portions of the population, so how will they help in these cases? I'm not against gun control in general in cases where it makes sense, but it simply makes zero sense as to how it would help this particular situation in our current reality.

At this moment, probably literally nothing. Trying to fix healthcare is very sadly probably equally Herculean as it would be to try to make guns a thing of the past. I hope people will begin to take actual steps towards that goal, but I have little hope.

"Finding out the cause of mental illness in people and do our best to provide the care they need.....", what is this from Barney and Friends? Have you seen the USA in recent times? All your assessment about mental illness as a whole can be attributed to a state of societal decay happening in America that plagues especially young people on their psyches and self esteem, and other assortments of stuff. Until we improve as a society these issues will not stop. And I think absolutely we should make efforts to care for and pay closer attention in helping people having mental issues problems, but you are absolutely wrong and ignorant if you think we focus on that and completely ignore the issue of gun control. To be honest, we are probably never going to help out all people developing mental issues, not even close there's just too much going on and with the way things seem right now, society will continue to decline. Trying to stop all the people will be even MORE impossible to stop guns.

How do you stop an intelligent but deranged individual from obtaining a gun? It's not like these people are generally idiots. We're not talking about a large percentage of the population that could be filtered out. We're talking about low double-digit individuals (in the case of these mass shootings, not all shootings) at most that are very unlikely to be filtered out by any law. Providing the care people need and simply hoping they don't get passed over is realistically the best chance I can think of.

I agree that nobody is going to enact anything to actually try to improve upon the situation in any manner. I just disagree that the gun angle is one that would even be remotely viable or helpful at this time.

Australia also has/had less than 1/100th of the total guns in America at the moment. Removing guns from America, even without active resistance, would be probably a 100-year project at this point. And everyone knows there would be massive resistance. We have to work through this from a realistic standpoint.

Kinda confused how the existence of guns would be the impetus to go kill a bunch of innocent kids. Obviously, the prevalence of guns makes them an easy tool for murder, but this uptick in these incidents certainly doesn't correlate to any statistic on guns. Finding out why these people are ending up like this and trying our best to provide the care they actually need is the only actual way to reduce the likelihood of these incidents happening. No gun control law is going to stop five, ten, fifteen individuals from committing disgusting acts of violence. Even if right now the government magically made guns illegal, it's not like you'd be able to collect and destroy them all before like 2075 at the earliest, even if you can guarantee there'd be no "muh guns" civil war.

With your livelihood relies on other people being upset, it generally means youre not a very good person. Its incentivizing you to get better and better reactions, and that can skew the entire process by itself. Whether or not the other people are in the wrong on something doesnt really matter.

This is incorrect.

They seem to routinely bring up things like being massively faster than light, yet they never actually display that in their fights because they wouldn't actually have a fight to animate at that point. If they're going to go to such extents in analyzing every aspect of a character in mapping out these fights only to not utilize those aspects, it seems like pointless theatrics.

I don't really get the setup. They do these goofy fights and then justify who won using feats not displayed in the goofy fight.

It's overboard and should be legal, but I have pretty much zero sympathy for people like that. It's not an act of desperation. There are places where you can go to partake in and sell it legally now. There is no excuse in being that stupid.

The voice actor ProZD does quite a few board game reviews on his Youtube channel. Not really into those, but maybe that'll give a different perspective.
