Really late night at Denny's with college friends.

Before we head back we notice a dumpster at the hotel next door. Sitting outside of said dumpster is two office chairs and what looks like a 20 foot long metal pole. For whatever reason, we take those with us.

To get back to the college we have to go up and over a grassy hill with an S shaped sidewalk going to the top.

A lightbulb goes off. Somebody goes and grabs two skateboards.

We then try, keyword try, to go down this S shaped sidewalk on a hill with 6 people, two office chairs, one 20 foot pole and two skateboard as one giant connected vehicle.

As you can probably imagine, it never ended well no matter how many times we did it. On one occassion is skiffed my hand pretty good on the sidewalk and started bleeding. People were like 'omg lets get you some bandaids!' And i said 'Pffft, the hell with that! To the top! Again!'

Still have that scar on my hand 14 years later

I broke my leg skateboarding doing that very same thing, 16 years old.

in stl for a wedding, getting ready at the hotel. notice a ton of older dudes with 80s style rocker shit on. dont think much about it, go to the wedding in the afternoon had a good time buts its dry so we head back to the hotel and go to the bar attached.
got a few bourbons in me and fam is just telling stories and shit and an older fellow at the bar joins in a bit just shooting the shit. after an hour or so and thru the small talk i realize its ace frehley from kiss.
he's in town for some festival and many of the bands are staying there.

he was real chill about it, seemed like a cool dude.

There used to be a guy that would frequently walk his group of Llamas around town. He had about 4 of them and people could come out and pet them. It was always a nice surprise when a trip to the post office was met by 4 friendly Llamas.

When I was in Kindergarten, a mentally disabled girl ate literal shit out of a toilet. In the boys restroom. And we all just watched before her special needs teacher walked in and stopped her.

The second time I drove with an official adult license. I reversed out of a parking spot and hit a car. I panicked, went back into the store, got my friend to get me out of that spot and park somewhere else. Later on my dad noticed the dent and I blamed it on a runaway shopping cart. He believed it <_<

When I just started working at the place I'm at now, my coworker (who went on to become my current girlfriend) asked me if I had a pen she could borrow. She was handling a patient and needed them to sign a "proof of delivery" thing for the insurance. I thought nothing of it, gave her my pen, a really nice fountain pen, and walked back to my desk. A couple minutes pass and she's done with her line of patients so she just walks over to the back where the rest of us are gathered and working. We make small talk and a few seconds in I ask if I can have my pen back. She responded "What pen? OH. RIGHT. My bad, I uh, let someone walk out with it and without me noticing it." And now three years later we're dating and every time she asks me for a pen I ask her "You're not going to lose this one are you?" And she always covers her face in embarrassment. For the longest time she would even deny I ever let her borrow a pen that day, that I was just teasing her and making up nonsense and that "It's so weird you're always bringing up this fake pen, bro." Such an odd thing to stretch over the course of our relationship, but it's become our "thing" in a way.

Hehe, pretty cool. What kind of pen was it, like a Mont Blanc?

Jesus Christ! Anybody sign up for next year? When I was a boy I played little league until one time I got hit so hard in the leg while I was batting, I came to a realization that that could have been a lot worse and stopped playing. I was in 6th grade.

So recently my mom had this medical alert thing, and if it falls, the alarm goes off. One day, I was just hanging out at the house and I hear this BIG BIANG on the door. I was like "fuck!" I get up and go to the door, open it, and there's like 10 big firefighters ready to slam through the door. I was like O_O. I turned around and hollered out, with concern, "Mom, are you ok?". And she was. It had just fallen and apparently they just sent them over. They were like -_-, and I was still like O_O.

Different memory. One time I was at this semi-fancy Italian restaurant. I had to go number two really bad. So, I go to the bathroom, I hang out in there for a while, take the meanest dump, and I'm kind of waiting for people to leave, just so I can wash my hands and leave. I think I'm in the clear. I walk out of the stall and I see THE WAITRESS in the mirror! She was fixing her hair. She smiled (and she was pretty too). I freaked the fuck out and ran straight out the restaurant. Turns out the names on the bathroom were written in Italian and I went boldly into the wrong one.

We get enough memories we can program some AI!

Used to use it regularly, had a membership for a year. It's cool, but they always couldn't find shit and didn't get the right substitutions, and it was pricey anyways, so not no more.

We didn't have a kid, had just one dog and didn't own a house, so I guess she wasn't but as responsibilities grew she started showing that.

It turned out to be $40 and that was 2 hours and 3 minutes driving.

Yours too, huh? Mine went up $20.

I made like $36 today for five rides. I prefer passengers over deliveries.

Useful and fill a good niche...but also a vile cutthroat company that absolutely has caused people to be hurt willfully or through gross negligence and has no qualms breaking the law and being dishonest.

I get that impression too sometimes, often times, as a driver.
And man, you KNOW they employ a handful of psychologists there. The way they get drivers to go out through incentives...it's quite manipulative.

Nothing but good experiences for the most part; there was a window back in like fall 2020 in vegas where unemployment bonuses were still everywhere, so it was impossible to find an uber. found one that was 20 minutes away which is insane for normal vegas times. as he got to about 2 mins away and was finishing up his prior trip, he cancelled. so we had to sprint from luxor to caesars palace to make our show.

shit was brutal but totally worth it. and nothing but good experiences outside that window

Yeah, I was going to a call once and accidentally fucked up my tires and had to cancel on them at the last minute. Even if they understand, from Uber....that's a paddlin'.

What ever your experience with them may be, as a rider, a driver, ordering, etc.

I've never rode. I've ordered a million times.
I've driven many times. Driving is cool, but there are a lot of caveats to mind. When I first started driving, I had to make a lot of initial upfront investments like toll tags, cameras, etc.
I like driving, but, sometime I get sleepy from boredom. And you have to take the trips that come or they ding you on your acceptance rate, and you could be coming from a call that sent you out to the middle of nowhere.
