I got turned off on smart appliances by a smart toaster that was a bit too snarky and instant on toasting bread products.

Due to lower fitness levels, higher obesity, heart conditions and other health factors, I highly suspect video games account for far more than 13k deaths per year.....and i wouldn't restrict them if they account for 10x that many (which is quite likely).

I have taught at a few schools, but two stand out as a good comparison.

Luigi Apria in Gilroy CA was the school I taught the most at. It had gates and the only way in was through the office, there was security in the office AND a locked door that had to be opened by a button for anyone to get into the school (outside of that start/end of the school day.).

We still had no teachers aids at all, and almost no parent participation/volunteers, but every room was air conditioned with windows and we had plenty of computers etc. The school was in a neighborhood where no homes were worth less then a few million though and near a very large gated community.

Meanwhile in the same city, Gilroy, I worked at El Roble Elementary. It was near the poor side of town and half the parents didn't speak English. There were no gates, wide open school yard, and many of the classrooms were mobile home units with no windows or air conditioning. There was no security at all, and no way to even consider keeping a child on the school grounds who didn't want to be there (never had any run off on me at that school, but some tried at luigi and luckily the gates stopped them).

The difference in utility items/computers etc between the schools was insane.

So yeah, some schools do have gates etc, but only the ones is rich/expensive neighborhoods. The poor schools are the ones where kids usually get shot up and where there is little to no protection from that. Since they rarely have enough money to even supply air conditioning, any kinda of teacher assistance (with massively over crowded classrooms) or supplies, I doubt that is going to change soon.

I was always under the impression that Kim was going to have to either leave him, or die before the end of better call saul because she wasn't in breaking bad at all, nor mentioned in the flashbacks etc for along time.

Once I saw them cleaning out his home though after everything fell apart and she still had clothes there etc, it gave me some hope. I still don't think she's gonna make it though cause if they were together in any way he woulda tried to go poof WITH her, so I have a bad feeling about her future.

My but is weird. I'm pretty sure I'm an alien. I do poop, but........this is a bit disturbing.....there is never anything to wipe afterwards. I still use a few squares of toilet paper, but....there is never anything on it.

My but magically auto-cleans. It's very weird. No I don't do any inside cleaning etc either.

Not complaining mind you, but.....kinda wondering if I am not human.

I'm diabetic so I try and avoid carbs. I do this two ways with hotdogs. The first is using a corn tortilla instead (kinda like a corn dog!!), but the other method is to use 1 bun, and put two hotdogs in it. You cut the hot dogs in half (but not all the way) then slice them along the outside so they don't curl. This is a great way to make a tasty hotdog anyway, but it also lets you layer 2 of them in one bun and still have room for ketchup/relish/mustard etc!!

You can also use traditional rolls/sandwich rolls with the flat hot dogs as well, and stack two of them on top of each other so the bread to hotdog ratio isn't so bad (this was useful even before I was diabetic!!).

I'm a big fan of Alexander Skarsgard and can't wait to see it. He was the only semi-redeeming factor/actor in the remake of The Stand (still not as good as the original Randal Flag, but he wasn't bad at the role, unlike pretty everyone else).

He was my favorite character in the True Blood series (and in the books for that matter, but he portrayed Erick so freaking well). I'll always be a fan of his for that, and he's the PERFECT choice to play a viking.

For chicken I like thighs the best but they are the hardest to cook right and rare to find a place that makes them really well. Legs are similar (just not as much meat) and you can get them most places while still tasting decent (even fast food places and poppeys spicy legs are delicious!!).

Breasts need to be masterfully cooked to not be dry for me, so they are generally my least favorite by far and rarely do I order them out (I can make them decent at home). I still generally like to cut them in half/flatten em out and bread them to make a sort of chicken snitzel which is still very juicy but crunchy on the outside.

For women, I like small to medium breasts, large ones are actually a turn off for me. Same with thighs/legs in general although personality and how pretty/cute the face is matter more than anything else. I also totally dig certain hair colors and red/light blue hair instantly makes a woman much more attractive to me.

Lol, not in a million years and I have been looking online and i'm not the only one saying that.

Im waiting to hear why the story just got shut down/cut in half and changed so it's half as long. She litereally walks into the compound and just kills her dad/main bad girl, and walks out. It was like they filmed the first 1/3rd of the movie, ran out of money/time and just ended it.

I wasn't talking about directing, he has to greenlight them right I'm pretty sure they run the script etc by him, he even said he liked the new *ugh* Stand better than the original mini-series. I think the dude has gone off his rocker or something and can't tell when something is crap.

The original Firestarter with Drew Barrymore as Charlie was very good. Not QUITE as good as the book (which was really great, especially for it's time as there were not many books about psychic powers yet back then), but it did translate the story fairly well.

Spoilers for the VERY crappy remake (just another warning)

This version totally devates from the book with an amazingly unsatisfying ending that seems like they just cut it short because they decided to stop filming it. More importantly NONE of the characters were even slightly as good as the original (much like The Stand sadly which had iconic characters/actors in the original mini-series and blah in the new version).

Drew Barrymore was a MASSIVLY superior Charlie by far. Rainbird was far better (and the ultimate culmination of the story was the same as the book), even the Dad was better in the original.

This was a literal waste to watch that barely touched on Charlies powers at all (unlike either the book or the first movie), only slightly mentioning that maybe she could have the power of creation a nuke (not cracking the earth etc, just a nuke) and barely having her parents use their powers.

I don't get why anyone looks at the originial movie and says lets remake this and ends up with a movie like what I just saw. I have seen the original many times over the years and would have enjoyed rewatching it far more.

Ugh, so dissapointed although I'm getting used to that with steven king movies/remakes lately.

Sigh, wasn't even one redeeming factor.

Yeah I got it, have not played enough yet to really see, but I loved the first and it looks like they added even ore to this one. Plan on playing all day:)

I'm a big fan of the original salt and sanctuary (which you could have gotten free on epic (I already owned it on 2 systems by then...I have it on epic too now lol).

Anyway it's a 2d metroidvanian/souls game and a blast (both are).

They have that in a theater in LA. We paid for it (to watch Uncharted) but our seats had the tubes pulled out so it didn't work and we didn't find out we were missing anything t ill after. It also moves around (the seats) like one of those fake rollercoaster things. Honestly didn't like it and the water mist that we didn't get wouldn't have changed my mind.

Back in the day, in my 20's, I could eat 2 large pizzas while my 4 friends would share 1 large pizza. I never gained any weight till I was 27 either.

But yeah, that was just crazy, after 27 I would eat at most 1 large pizza and usually once I was married would split the pizza with my wife (Even if she would usually eat like 3 pieces and I would have 5).

Even in the last decade I usually ate 2-3 pieces before becoming full and sometimes would even eat half of a papa murphies pizza still if I hadn't eat all day etc.

But now?

1/8th (1 slice) of pappa murphies pizza and I am not hungry for another slice.

Will that continue? Will I end up eating 1 bite of a pizza eventually. What is going on?!!

I got my second booster shot a bit over a month ago and DAMN was it bad.

My first booster shot was bad, I got serious spasms in my right arm which set off my back. I also had a high fever and chills but my back was so bad I didn't focus on that much.

This time I told them about it, and they were like, just rotate your arm a bunch before hand and it should prevent the spasms.

And it worked!

Sadly the fever was MUCH worse and the chills/shaking was uncontrollable. It lasted about 30 hours and felt like hell. After I recovered I called my doctors office and had them put it on my chart that I can't get another booster shot again. Honestly Covid has to be better than that.

Luckily it was just af ever and chills and that shaking didn't keep happening afterwards, there does not seem to be any long term effect to me. Still that was seriously tramatic and people who were older than me, out of shape or had other issues might not have made it through that experience.

There are definately effects that are not being reported to the general public though as they wanted specifics of my reaction and said that they always took down the info when someone has a reaction to the vaccine, so it certainly wasn't just me.

Never getteting Moderna again for sure, and probably not any other vaccine shot (still will get the flu shot though). That truly and seriously sucked hard.

So I worked hard, often over 60 hours a week from a very early age. I saved up a ton, barely spent anything on myself, but got married at 27 and that ate up most of my savings (but not all). Worked making over 60k a year, bought a house etc, but my wife got sick back in 2011 and that blew through all our savings (Even with insurance as it has a 1 mill cap).

So yeah, if you can get a job you like/find rewarding do it. If you don't have kids and a family though, try for a job that you don't hate, that you don't need to work even 40 hours a week.

I have a friend in the bay area who works for uber eats and makes about 34$ an hour (after tips) on average. He controls his own hours, and even gets paid when traveling for himself (just takes an order going his way). Other friends have worked jobs that tip (Baretenders/waiters etc) and worked 6 hour shifts 3 days a week but still made more than many people do with full time jobs (rarely had less than $600 in tips a night).

There are tons of ways to make serious money without having a degree, and whatever your age is. Alter your lifestyle so it doesn't cost as much (I literally spend less than $900 a month all in), and get a job you don't hate that makes double that (at least) so you can save up a decent amount.

Don't worry about careers etc, the days of loyalty from companies are gone. There are tons of ways to not only make a living, but save for retirement, while still having plenty of time to enjoy life now.

If I could go back in time to when I was younger I would tell my younger self to not work so hard, not go to college, and not get married till I found someone and lived with them long enough to ensure I would be ok having a child with them. I spent waaaay to much of my 20's working and going to school.

I went to a vocational school 8 hours a day for 9 months at 19 to get my electronic techs degree, while working 8 hours a night graveyard at Carl's Jnr (actually really liked that job). I worked in that field buy pagers went poof eventually and I switched to running shipping and handling for Value Media...my first salaried position (28k a year..was alot back then) but I was working well over 60 hours a week for that. No loyalty from the company owners they declared bankrupcy after 2 years suddently with no warning to us and moved to a new state. I worked full time while going to college as well, and for my masters worked full time took care of my wife (Who was sick) and did the observation hours etc that was required for a teachers credential in CA all at once (barely got any sleep).

I worked hard for a very long time and never got to go on vacation at all, never got to travel (still have not), and even when I had time off (weekends etc) I was so tired and had so many things to do it wasn't really enjoyable.

So......don't do that...do feel bad about not doing that.....don't feel bad about some blah job you have been doing, if you have only been doing it 40 or less hours a week. Try and find something you can do that you don't hate, that still gives you enough time to live.....and focus on the living part, the time your not working. Money doesn't matter if you never have time to spend it.

Every day is a weekend to me and has been for years.

And I spend a total of about 800-900 a month including rent etc.

I still mostly skip through any parts that are just ross, just rachael or just them both.

So disliked them I couldn't watch the show in the past but with age has come a layer of idgaf that lets me do things, eat things and watch things I couldn't in the past.

Never got that far into it because I don't/didn't like Ross and Rachael but this time I am pushing through and have laughed out loud a few times and I'm still in season 1!!

All those seasons of this show to go and I'm liking it already!!
