As much as I like Monogatari and Fate/Zero, Madoka is probably Shaft and Urobuchi Gen's most successful work.
That show had a hell of an impact as a dark magical girl show. It's not unique in that aspect, but it's the one that blew up the most that decade.
From that decade, you could say it and fellow runner up Steins;Gate are the big two major shows from their decade to have not won.
Though with Madoka out, guess it's back to A Place Further than the Universe to carry the anime original banner.

Look at that MHA's completed the arc from fresh upcoming new shonen battle series, to a potential pillar of the magazine, to "oh no, these arcs have been rough".
Quite a few long popular battle series do that thing where they after a successful run they just peter out at the end.
Bleach might be one of the most famous examples. But MHA at it's peak was some really good stuff.
So I do hope that the final arc can redress things...

It came 2nd last year, perhaps surprisingly so given that it lost to such an ancient and somewhat cult series.
Though I guess there was a tad of anti shonen bias going on there, another win and the would have held half the crowns.

The way things are going Kaguya S3 isn't quite giving Kaguya the refresher either.

But it's a real shame with MHA, cos Bones are a very solid studio, we've seen with FMA: Brotherhood what their peak with shonen type stuff can be.

Oooh, not the WSJ action series I expected to make top 20.

I need to double check how far the anime's covered, but I wasn't so hot on some of the recent MHA arcs.

Though I believe the fights are just choreographed routines, a la Touken Ranbu?

If Iroha's english was better, she should take advantage of it because she's stagnated quite a bit.
Right now she's more or less the Ring Fit girl.

The Apex tournament concluded and Aqua's much hyped team could only place 16th, but overall it was still good fun and looks like they enjoyed being together for the month.
Matsuri, Roberu and Astel all showed up on various teams as well, and Roberu did manage 6th which ain't too shabby.

Feels like everytime I see the history I get somewhat surprised that School Rumble is performing so well still.
Not all good shows can maintain good runs this long! With the exit that leaves us with...3 high school romance themed shows?
Though I think half the remaining field is still highschool centric, which I wanna say is a jump on previous years, but I'm not so good at sorting those particular stats out.
