It's been 6 weeks since Ayame did a stream.

No one went for the Star Wars: Visions anthology, but from what I watched, lot of misses in there.

Last year, Legend of the Galactic Heroes became our oldest champion.
This year A Place Further than the Universe achieves victory as the youngest, although this would have applied to either series.

Sometimes a show does need a few more years to mature and build an audience through positive word of mouth.
A Place Further Than the Universe has been recommended on a steady and constant basis as more than your typical cute girls doing cute things show.
It offers one of the strongest coming of age stories, with four likeable main characters each dealing with their own reasons to achieve this challenge.

But what might have set this show apart was the direction. The narrative is solid, they build up to each moment, the best scenes pull you in emotionally.

In Odd Taxi it beats what could be considered the new hotness, but that series may not have had the time to reach an audience just yet.
It's a strong neo-noire series, it follows the beats you would expect from a tightly directed thriller plot.
The animals are cute, but the intrigue levels are high, it's a clever show, but it doesn't beat you over the head with how smart the characters are.
Plans are set in motions, sometimes they work out, sometimes they go horribly wrong.
But like with Antarctica, this is the type of series where the one cour is enough to tell its story.

Next year, I think 60 is good for the number of participants.
We have many shows to look forward to, among the expected rookies Spy x Family is something that could perhaps tap into that Kaguya audience.
If shonen is to make a comeback, Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen flopped, but perhaps Chainsaw Man will attract a crowd.

It could of course also be time for some vets to have another shot, Steins;Gate came closest but it's not like a Madoka, TTGL or Jojo can't put a run together.

I think fans may be okay if Cynthia loses to Leon too, but yeah, anyone else would cause a mass whining outbreak.

I think Alain will face Ash, like what's the point of bringing him in oppose to Raihan/Flint/Brandon if they weren't going to face each other.

While Ash going over Alain makes sense, we've also seen in many an anime with a tournament the team that beat the MC lose just before a rematch to build up an even bigger threat.

At least they cannot pull the card of Ash wins a round but his team is too depleted and exhausted for the next round. His team at this point is deep enough he could rotate as much as he wants.

Ash losing to Leon would be something, though I expect him to win the whole thing.

Leon beating Alain in a charizard off could be used to build hype further though at this point these characters have been hyped for donkey years.

Cynthia should lose to Ash to minimise salt. She loses to anyone else and her fans likely get mad. Though if Diantha beat her due to ace type advantage it would be funny.

They could go the sports anime route and have Ash vs Leon round 1 as well.

Koyori has been pacing Watame for streaming hours.
Miko/Pekora usually top the watched hours rankings though.

I would assume Suisei is upper tier among the JPs for Taiko no Tatsujin, maybe Marine too.
But Kanata or Aki or anyone like that os going to be bad.

If Antarctica wins, that's Madhouse's 4th win with HxH 2011, Monster and Death Note already securing wins. It would however be their first original work. Though I guess chapter 1 of the manga was 1 week before the anime's first ep.

Meanwhille Oddtaxi is coming in hot with a studio mostly known for making anime versions of kid's merch with Inazuma 11, Pokemon, Yo-Kai Watch, cardfight and Beyblade among their other works. Though they also did Berserk in the 90s.
