After 3 listens, it confirmed that I was right not to have gotten into them. I think the biggest thing is that I'm just not a big fan of Jack's vocals. That isn't to say this is a bad album, just that it's not really for me. Seanchan 07/01/22 10:25:37 PM #7	I've also finished Novice on Paperball. I started on Intermediate and I had to stop on the stage Skeleton for the moment. I'm using an XBox One controller paired to my laptop and the combo of underpowered CPU/GPU and very touchy controls makes this very difficult. I feel like a really need to just nudge the stick; any more than that and I'm completely out of control. We'll see if I'm able to get through this one. I find it interesting when people can listen to the same album and like completely different parts. I dont remember who but someone, when we covered Nevermind, put as #1 Endless, Nameless. For me, that was as easy a last place as it gets. So when I see that as someones fave its like huh.ok. I think I was one of the highest ratings for Spice and I was a big fan of Hamilton too (other than it being too long for casual listens). On the other hand, as a fan of pop and EDM Im not particularly bothered by a lot of repetition. Anyway, I just think its fun when more people engage and participate, especially when they have strong positive OR negative opinions. I didn't find this too difficult to rank the tracks, though I feel like there's a gap between my top 5 and my bottom 6. On the album level I'm more torn. I think I'd listen to this again but, from a week of play, I wouldn't say this is a favorite of mine. There was basically 4 tiers to Enema: What's My Age Again?, Adam's Song Don't Leave Me, All the Small Things Going Away to College, Dumpweed, Wendy Clear, Mutt Aliens Exist, Anthem, The Party Song, Dysentery Gary Even with more rankers, I don't think that would have changed that much. The bottom 4 were the clear bottom 4, and would have been my guesses prior to the ranking. I was pleasantly surprised that Don't Leave Me got as high as it did, especially as a non-single. I was never the biggest fan of Adam's Song back in the day but it's a good song, despite being its lowest ranker. Same kind of thing for What's My Age Again?. I'm pretty sure that was the first big single from the album, so maybe not a surprise it was #1. I think the main issue is that GameFAQs only operates as a host of other people's content, which means they have little control over how people write their walkthroughs. This means inconsistent levels of quality (there are still walkthroughs using ASCII in 2022) and lots of gaps in content. I tried to find a walkthrough for Halo Infinite a while ago and found out we had none. Like... I get Halo's not what it used to be, but not having any guide at all for a mainline Halo is pretty bad. Also, forums are dying as a whole and GameFAQs is conservative even by forum standards. Gen Z communicates in pictures, videos, memes and emojis. GameFAQs forums are still almost entirely text based. And even if we do start appealing to Gen Z, how many of them would want to join a community of 30-40 year olds that know each other for decades? I think it's only natural that a site known for old ass ASCII guides would still have people writing ASCII guides for it. And that it's forums would reflect that as well. Lets be honest, I think we're kind of lucky GameFAQs is still around. I imagine it gets enough traffic/ad revenue to keep running but not enough to actively develop and promote. I know SBAllen does some work on the site but I got the impression that he has other responsibilities as well within Red Ventures. Anthem Dysentery Gary Mutt Aliens Exist I'm so glad this album still holds up. I can't remove my nostalgia for it from my viewpoint but, compared to so much of the music from that time, this is one I'm not "embarrassed" by in 2022. Yes, it's squarely aimed at a teenaged audience (or at least capturing the teenaged mindset), but it's a fun, goofy album that doesn't really take itself too seriously and made me want to sing along. Oh, and I am definitely locking up highest deviation this week. Ain't nobody else putting Wendy Clear at #1; that's just been a personal favorite of mine forever. And no one else will have The Party Song outside the bottom 3; I know objectively I should have that closer to the bottom but there's just something kind of frenetic and manic about it that I love.
