First time I went to Canada, I was 10. I had never left America before and I was expecting a wild crazy land. I was VERY let down

I don't remember any of it, tbh, and I have a really good memory. Just something I wasn't excited about and nothing memorable happened. I "remember" the ferry ride over, but that's mostly just because I remember that's how we got there and I know what a ferry ride "looks" like.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. When you think of a nurse, for example, most people think of a female. When people think of a doctor, they think of a male. Doctors are paid more than nurses, but nurses tend to do a LOT more work than doctors. If there is a male nurse, they tend to be looked down on and called, "Murces."

I think this is a patriarchal. Husbands should earn more than their wives, and in order to do that, the jobs that the wives are more apt for will pay less than the jobs that men are more apt at. And again, like I said in my first comment, this does have a lot to do with being assertive and asking for more. Men tend to be more aggressive when asking for more money than women, but that's because society has made it seem that men need to earn more than women, and this is from both men and women. Women tend to not date men that don't make more than they do, so this patriarchal society has made men earn more on average.

There is no gender pay gap , men make more money because on average they work longer hours , more dangerous jobs , and more high performance jobs like being a doctor or an engineer. They are over represented in high paying fields , and that is with free will accounted for. Same way women are over represented in teaching and nursing.

Honestly this was debunked so long ago and so many times I'm surprised people still believe it. Plus it's illegal in the US to pay women less so even if it happens they have legal recourse to sue .

This is who/what I replied to. They were curious WHY people voted this way, when the most of the people on here say they are, "Leftist." The reason WHY they voted that way is because the poll asks two different things, kind of. The main question is if J-Law is paid less because she's a female, which the people who voted here voted, "No," she isn't paid less because she's a female. SHE, Jennifer Lawrence. The same people who don't think SHE is effect by this, may still think a pay gap exist in other jobs in the world.
