Anyone who likes the Sonic series will say that those Dreamcast ones are good, maybe Sonic Heroes, and various sporadic newer ones. Nobody says SA is as good as SA2, but it's not treated like a black sheep either. I wasn't expecting a good game, but I wasn't expecting this bad a game.

I think Sonic Adventure is better than 2. At least if you just play the fun stuff (Sonic and Tails and even Amy is alright) and cut out the rest.

But yeah, they're both bad games. Going back and playing them as an adult was...a mistake for my childhood nostalgia. (E: Actually, I'd be comfortable saying Sonic Adventure is an okay game and SA 2 is bad.)

Sonic Colors and Generations are legitimately good 3D Sonic games though. So they actually exist!

I might be the perfect person to ask about this because I've literally gotten both - LASIK in my left eye and PRK in my right.

LASIK has better results, immediate results, and no pain. It's downright incredible. Literally 2 hours after the surgery I was seeing better than 20/20 vision and it hasn't changed since. PRK is quite a different story though. The results are still decent long-term, but my vision remains blurrier than I was hoping for in my right eye. The first week after PRK you'll be relegated to staying in a dark room because light hurts your eye intensely. The first three or so months you won't see very well out of it at all. Around 6 months you'll start getting closer to your final results, but it will still heal for over a year. And it never got as good as my left eye. I've thought about even getting contacts for my right eye because it's a little annoying, but like, it's not terribly blurry or anything. Just a little. If I didn't get a taste of LASIK in my left eye, I wouldn't know what I was missing out on.

Basically, if you can get LASIK in both, that's absolutely what you want. It's miraculous and there's a reason it's been the go-to standard, unless you simply have to get PRK because of your corneas. For me, I was blind in my right eye for 2 years because of a corneal ulcer, so the fact that I could even get PRK was kind of a miracle in itself. It's hard to complain about my results after being blind.

Good luck, DC! Here's hoping you qualify for LASIK.

Easily the best story in the series. Expanding on the Covenant from their perspective was brilliant. Their civil war, the intrigue of Gravemind, raising the stakes and better character writing as Snake said. And the ending is like...totally fine. You're allowed to do cliffhanger endings; never got why it upset people.

Sadly Halo 3 dropped all of the interesting parts of the story and I haven't really cared much about Halo lore since. And we all know how well 343 tells stories. (And I love Halo 4, but certainly not for the story.)

There's not really much compelling at all in the first Gears, but it's not bad. 2 has some moments that would elevate its score way higher.

I think I'll lower my score to a 4. There's really nothing here at all besides a decent world for them to build off of in the future.

Similarly, I'd like to raise my score for The Last Guardian to a 9. Think I gave it an 8.5? I had the sudden urge to revisit it and replayed it in two sittings. It's a perfectly told story and the ending is legitimately among my favorites in gaming. YouTube essayist Jacob Geller has an amazing video on it:

Level ups are expensive enough now that I don't even know how I would have gotten to 170 without grinding, there's only so many bosses that give big rune payouts in the game.

That's the weird thing. I only ever grinded when I was really close to leveling in a dangerous area and wanted to make sure I got to that next level. But once I got the twiggy cracked tear I used it all the damn time. That alone saved me from almost never losing runes and probably helped a lot in being so highly leveled.

I may have been 160 something when I fought her. I don't remember exactly. Buffing my vigor to the high 50s probably helped a ton on these bosses too.

I feel like I played this game wrong when people talk about how hard some of the late game bosses are. Malenia took me...3 tries? I was like level 170+ when I did all the late game stuff. Would have liked an actual challenge. At least Elden Beast took me like 10 tries. By far the hardest boss for me besides early game Margit.

It's cool to get rewarded for taking things slow and exploring everything I could, but...I just like exploring for the sake of exploring, not to get absurdly powerful and put the game in easy mode. It actually over-rewarded me and took away an aspect of challenge I would have preferred on my first playthrough.

But I don't know what the solution would be here for a game as open as this. Oh well.

I know it's divisive but I love it

Kirby is great. If you like 3D World it's a complete rip off in the best way. Currently working my way through the post-game and it's just such a delight

Yeah I couldn't care less about having to use a public restroom and find the people abnormally afraid to do so a little strange. I also have a bladder the size of a goldfish so I'm forced to use one like on the daily. #2 is worse in a public restroom but not the end of the world.

They're usually fine. Every once in a blue moon though, you'll enter one that is truly disgusting and maybe those experiences just scar people forever.

About all that I could want out of a Metroid game. Ending is bonkers and a wonderful end to the "Baby Metroid saga."

Yeah it does some kinda interesting stuff that puts it just above average. Agree that I enjoyed the story here more than Age of Calamity.

Not actively at the moment but I've gone through phases of doing this before. After seeing Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood, I went back and watched every film he's ever been in solely because he was in it.

Actually can't think of many other examples though.

Returns works great when something has been away for a long time, as in Donkey Kong Country Returns. As a straight sequel, like Batman Returns, dislike.

Either way, Origins is worse and way more overused.

This is the first Kirby game I've ever played, and it's really good. It might be because I'm playing it after a month of Elden Ring and Tunic, but I love it's simplicity and the little challenges with the different abilities get pretty creative later in the game.

8.5/10 would recommend

Yeah, I'm getting pretty burnt out on Elden Ring after 85 hours as much as I love it. This feels like the perfect palette cleanser.

Oh man this is another thing I ordered that I forgot about myself. If people are getting them in droves, maybe mine will show up too

Got to Margott at level 99, success on third try when I used a rune arc (I only have Goderick's great rune). Easy peasy.

The fucking Gargoyle in the middle of Lyndell was a way harder fight for me...then I used a golden fowl foot on him when I finally beat him and he dropped like 4000 runes. Mother fuck. Will save those for only mainline bosses now. You get his halberd weapon from beating him so I guess that's the real point of the fight.

Lucky for me I also used one of those fowl foots right before beating Margott and got like 160,000 runes. That was awesome.

Still rocking the Golden Halberd but also got the Brick Hammer and been upgrading it. Has better strength scaling so we'll see if it ever gets better than ol faithful. So far it's +17 and still quite a bit worse than my +6 Golden Halberd.

Anyone played these online yet since they should be in the playlists now? Will probably give it a whirl after some Elden Ring

I'm almost 60 hours into this thing and I still haven't beaten any of the main bosses besides Godrick (who I've beaten three times now - this guy keeps coming back!)

Talked to Roundtable Hold guy who gives you clues to all their whereabouts and made a note in my phone of them so I could actually start focusing on doing them. Then naturally I spent like 6 hours playing the game today not at all doing those things

So can you use the golden pickled fowl foot with runes in your inventory? Will using it before popping those give you more runes?

Maybe Super Mario Odyssey. That game is just pure fun. Doom Eternal is a good choice too.

Loki for sure. Some of the best stuff in all of the MCU.
