I can tell you Spider-Man isnt weighted towards the movies either because non-comic/game/tv/movie merchandise for Spider-Man is nearly double its movie value.

Every franchise double/triple-dips on revenue, but movie adaptations are where this is the least relevant. There's TONS of people who only go out and see the movie version of something and never spend another cent on it. DBZ has a weak movie presence, and its revenue is disproportionately weighted towards video games, which people are less likely to get without having already seen the original.

Mickey Mouse just naturally goes where Disney goes. Being the face of the company means he pops up in a lot of random places even if he doesn't have anything of his own going on.

DBZ is a moneymaker but there's no way its general outreach goes as far as Spidey/Harry Potter/MCU. A lot of people who like DBZ will triple dip into anime, video games, merchandise.

I think without guns DK definitely wins this, but guns do tip the scales

I forgot that there was a direct comparison match! In that year MGS4 was pretty much equal in strength to MGS2, so yeah, close to a tossup favoring Goldeneye.

The Last of Us got beaten very easily by Dark Souls, so that isn't winning unless you think Elden Ring is a full step below Dark Souls.

Similarly, Skyrim 60-40d Goldeneye in the last contest (with possible Undertale spillover affecting it), while Dark Souls got fairly close to Skyrim. So Goldeneye isn't beating Elden Ring unless, again, you think ER is a full step below Dark Souls.

MGS2 got 45% on Resident Evil 4. RE4 is strong but I think it loses to Skyrim without much trouble. So I probably wouldn't take MGS2 over ER either. It versus Goldeneye is more of a tossup

Haven't played, watched a lot of cutscenes. Seems great outside of all the EU / ghosts / timeline stuff they added, which is the main thing that turned me off from playing.

Goldeneye is 100% bigger than MGS4 in every way. It sold more, it had the bigger cultural impact and effect on the industry, and Bond is a bigger deal than MGS. Wasnt Goldeneye the highest selling N64 game not counting Super Mario 64? You can make an argument for MGS1, but definitely not any of the sequels.

Adding to this, I would wager that more people in total played Goldeneye than any other N64 game due to its extremely popular multiplayer. By gaming standards it was a cultural phenomenon.

People aren't exactly clamoring to play Assassin's Creed 1 either way.

You know it's funny to me how everyone complained a out the childhood secrion when this came out, but on replay the child section is actually some of the best story content in the game.

The first chunk after the time jump honestly has tons of potential as well, I was kind of shocked how much I was digging it last year because I had such mild feelings about the game in my memories. When there's party conflict the game is strong.

The game COMPLETELY falls apart and becomes a boring pile of nothing almost exactly once the party is fully formed, though. After that, it's just predictable generic mediocrity all the way until the end. Sure, it's not anywhere near as bad as the last chunk fo Xillia or the last 30ish% of Zesteria, but honestly I think the dull mediocrity might be less engaging than the absolute train wreck stuff in those games.
