The short answer is , men settle for a lot less than women. Men are satisfied more easily and fall in "true love" quicker .

One could easily say men are just as likely to "date up" as women , they just have less options. So I'm saying , hypergamy leans towards women because the average woman has more sexual value than the average man. Because women just have to show up , whereas men have to show out .

I think you are answering my second question? But from a "this is what I think" point if view? I guess it all really falls under my first question - is 'hypergamy' something that's been empirically determined/tested?

That is not hypergamy per se , Randy.

Hypergamy is a concept that says , women will always be trying to date up when they find a better deal. They will always be attracted to the most powerful male in the group . And there are exceptions to this.

But hypergamy is women always seeking the top tier men. Now once a woman locks down one of these types , she will be satisfied . But they are always looking for the most powerful male.

Having multiple women around is a part of that , because top tier men attract the most women. This ties into the 80/20 rule , 80% of women want the top 20% of men

I hadn't heard the word hypergamy before so a couple of questions-
1) Is it a theory? or something that that's been empirically proved by studies?
2) How is it different from every human wanting to "date up"?

It's interesting that conservatives have been saying that abortion should be a states rights issue for decades, then when the first state actually lets people vote on it and they lost, they don't want to let people vote on it any more.

It's weird, because after looking into him with all the horrid allegations, he actually gives some very solid advice for getting ahead in life and being motivated, some that I even tried to preach to my own friends and acquaintances in the past to improve either mentally, financially, or physically :/

Yup, but I don't want people attempting to pretend that said people are not actively working + threatening the company, specifically. Because it's dishonest. And that's it.

A) Isn't there a difference between "threaten to engage with company" (boycott) and "threatening the company?

No one really gets "cancelled". You may get deplatformed, like Trump did on Twitter. Or you lose an acting gig, like Roseanne or Gina Carano. But for the most part, the call to cancel someone is really just someone saying "I don't like this person, and you shouldn't either!"

I've always enjoyed him since Two Towers and and Doom (lol) and he's been in lots of memorable roles. I do agree he overshoots a bit sometimes, but he's still great to see. I also loved his McCoy in Star Trek as well.

He's been in shit for decades at this point, so it's good to see he's become rather big now.

My thoughts as well - he has just enough emotiveness that seems appropriate for his roles.

Plus I've been curious to see what his character arc becomes in Riddick - he wasn't an outright antagonist.

Also, not really defending the action but he literally told them he was going to do this if they brought undocumented immigrants to Florida and I dont think this is the first time a Southern state has done this. I can tell you for a fact certain Northern states used to put homeless people on buses in the 90s.

A) How were they sending people without permission?

Florida and Texas have been filling planes/buses with migrants and shipping them to democrat sanctuary cities. In this most recent case, DeSantis sent about 50 migrants to Martha's vineyard, but without coordinating with the local governments there. So those people just showed up with some cash at the airport and didn't really know what to do next. The people of Martha's vineyard banded together to get them temporary shelter and food and then promptly activated the national guard and bussed them out to a base in cape cod to process them.

Republicans are claiming that this is just a tiny sample of what border states deal with every day, and that it's hypocritical for a sanctuary Cities to tell border states to do more and then declare a national emergency when some of those people are dropped off at their front door. Democrats are claiming that this is human trafficking because these migrants aren't being given the information they need, just being bussed to another location.
