I decided to give Slay the Spire a try since it's one of the free PS+ games this month. I don't have a lot of experience with card battle games other than Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, and this isn't the same thing, so who knows how this will go or how long I'll stick with it!

Another Day beated! Not quite as fun as the original TWEWY's Another Day, but it was still enjoyable. I was hoping they'd bring back Tin Pin Slammer, but alas...! I'll go back to try to clean up stuff I missed, mainly collecting the Secret Reports, but I think we're almost done here. Overall, this was a worthy sequel that managed to recapture much of the charm of the original. I didn't think we'd ever get a game like this again, so it was a blast to play.

I came around on Fret by the end. Nagi is probably my least favorite of the main characters, but she was still fine.

I'll save a full ranking for when I finish Another Day.

TWEWY2 Week 3 complete!

Whew, that was a lot! Maybe too much. Felt like it overstayed its welcome a bit with all the time travel, but it was still a good time. Nice to see all the cameos, and we finally get to see Shiki's true face! I'm assuming there's still more to the game, like Another Day and finding the rest of the Secret Reports, so I don't think I'm quite done with the game just yet, but it's nice to have finished the main story now.

I think the analytics these days say that you should pull the pitcher before he faces the lineup the third time because batting average goes way up starting with the third time a hitter faces the same pitcher in the same game. It removes any intangible factors from the equation, and it feels like baseball was just more entertaining when it was a "sometimes you gotta go with your gut feeling" sport.

Generally speaking, the magic number is around 100, and at the rate Kershaw was going, he could've finished the game before hitting it or even if he went a little over, it wouldn't have been a big deal. There's just so much injury fear in sports these days, which I get to an extent.

But like I said, this is when analytics makes the game worse because you've instantly taken away any reason to keep watching the game once you pull the pitcher having a perfect game. Like I get that it's not the manager's job to entertain the fans, but this is where the conflict is created. A perfect game is incredibly rare, so they should've just let him go for it.

I mean Kershaw was injured a lot last year but the Dodgers live and die by analytics just like the Rays do

I feel like analytics have made football a better game since it encourages more throwing and risk taking in general but it's made baseball and basketball worse because it prioritizes all or nothing which is also risk taking but less entertaining in their cases

When did this turn into a Bugs Bunny cartoon with Gotenks tricking Buu into getting blown up?

Also, I kinda figured trapping everyone in the Time Chamber was Piccolo's backup plan in case Gotenks failed. Dude is on top of his game in this arc.

Wheel of Time book 9 beated! I thought it was pretty solid, although the first half felt fairly slow and uneventful. The final chapter was awesome though, and I'll be curious to see the repercussions of it (although the next book is considered the worst one from what I hear).

Dragon Ball Z Episode 255 complete!

Now we have (Almost) Pure Evil Buu after he defeats (Maybe) Good Buu, proving once again that turning from your evil ways always turns you into a wimp and is an occupational hazard.

1-3 is amazing and Oldbag is a real character in that case

there are only a few truly bad cases in the series, it just so happens AJ has two of them

Attack on Titan Season 4.5 Episode 9 complete!

An entire episode carried on the strength of cast chemistry, this is a testament to what a good group of characters this show has fostered.

Floch is still the worst though.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps beated! Good game, I'd say overall superior to the original. The gameplay just takes the first and improves upon it. I think the level design makes better use of Ori's skills, too. I also think they did a better job of making me care about the minimal story this time around. I liked the twist that the narrator turned out to be the spirit tree that Ori becomes at the end. It looks like they left the door open for a third game at the very end there, although it wouldn't be Ori as the protagonist, unless this new spirit just takes on the same name.

Olympus is all about learning how to become a true hero although Sora has yet to graduate beyond junior hero

Launch is basically the final movement ability that makes some of the others obsolete. Should be getting fairly close to the end, I think. Not sure if you've done the 'secret' area yet.

The Midnight Burrows? Yeah, I did that one. I'm pretty sure I just entered the final dungeon, yeah, so I'm nearing the end.

In Ori 2, I rescued the last Wisp and they became one great light called Seir. Now I've got to get back to the Willow, and I just gained the Launch ability, which just lets me shoot in any direction without needing a projectile to shoot off of, which is nice!

for a game full of wide open areas? yes

a top down camera worked fine for relatively contained areas like Shadow Moses or the Big Shell where there wasn't a lot of available space and you had plenty of obstacles to obscure enemy sightlines (plus you had the Soliton Radar to see where enemies were), but it made stealth really difficult in the jungle when you couldn't see enemies far off without constantly using binoculars or something but they could easily see you
