My only belief is that the cancerous ones are not the majority. They are just the ones in position of power.

My dad is a "life-long independent" who was grievously wounded when America coincidentally elected a Black president. He voted for Bill Clinton and supported Hillary in our closed primary. He's "totally not racist," I've never heard him utter anything maliciously racist, but he sure does refer to certain lower income people as "thugs." But now he's retired and totally on the Trump train. He watches Fox news all day and yet still has no idea why the Feds raided his home, why Biden pulled our troops out of Syria, why gas prices are high, why inflation is happening, or anything besides what Fox news feeds him. He doesn't know that he's voting for Proud Boys who vandalized our temple, he doesn't know that he's voting for anti-vaxxers for school board positions, or a governor who's working to make Christian schools superior to public schools. He just loves his anti-immigrant daddy Trump.

So, yeah, I fully believe that the majority of conservatives live in a news bubble that's detached from reality. What's more, most of them WANT Christianity in our schools, are happy that we're dumbing down American history, and are perfectly fine with racism and bigotry running rampant.

Ok this exploded more than I expected, and has been a bit overwhelming with the messages but thought Id give an update.
The attention hasnt been exactly positive and this hasnt been the best thing to happen for my relationship and its now sadly ended.
I didnt expect it to blow up so much, I should of used an anonymous name instead of my real name and our real ages.
There arent many 25 year old Tyler Lifes who are in a relationship with their s/o for 2 years who is 20.
Unfortunately her younger sister recognised this and showed her parents who wasnt happy at all and made the situation extremely awkward.
What made it more awkward, and cemented the fact that it was me, is that they recognised the song. Once at a family dinner we were discussing music tastes and my ex girlfriend stated that I have an odd taste in music. Everyone laughed and pressed me to play something from my phone of what I like as music, to which I then blessed their ears with CBAT.
Her father laughed and said it was terrible, I guess we all have different tastes. Although I nodded in agreement at the time, I was thinking in my head that this is a great fucking song.
We are over now and I am moving on. I already revealed my face on tiktok, but with the amount of hate I originally got I decided to say I didnt have it and backtracked.
I dont think the song is that bad and I had no idea she didnt like it until recently and as soon as I did I stopped. I didnt force her CBAT, not all can handle CBAT, I know its different.

Softcore feels like it makes some elements of the game pointless. Why bother considering defensive skills/passives/gear/gems or giving any sort of thought into what your character can handle, when you can just full-strength throw them over and over into a wall and it doesn't even matter how many times you splatter against it?

The only element of hardcore I don't like is dying to things that aren't even your fault, like network issues, due to the game being always-on (at least on PC).

Really think the appeal (or not) of HC mainly hinges on how much these two factors sway you.

Have you played D3 in the last 8 years? There's infinite endgame progression. If you're playing solo, you need some form of survivability, whether it's intangibility, bulk, or CC, to not get one-shot. If you're playing in a group you usually have a "support" or two that take hits, CC mobs, and group mobs so that the DPS can focus on dealing damage.

Certainly there are some elements of the game that feel pointless in comparison to vanilla D3 or D2, but those games also have their own problems that modern D3 solves. I get that you're advocating for HC, but I think modern HC is mostly just an exercise in trying to stay just slightly below your limits.

Don't play Crusader unless you're committed. Maybe wait til next season for WD and Crusader.

In every Pokemon game to date (I haven't played SwSh, but I just checked) there's some way to farm master balls. They're also tradable items, so if you wanted, you could open a sweat shop and pay to have people play through the game and trade you their master balls.

But it still wouldn't matter because in-game is largely:
1) trivial
2) a personal experience

It's like complaining about using Game Genie to beat SMB3, who cares?
For example, why would you not mind trivializing roaming legendaries? Because it's mostly just a chore without any real difficulty and ultimately isn't something that effects PvP or other more difficult game modes.

Actual event pokemon are a larger issue than any amount of ingame items. Nintendo could announce a $100k "Immortal Bundle" that came with every TM, 100 masterballs, and a Pikachu hat - it still wouldn't come close older gen Wish/Seismic Toss Chansey.

DBZ was and always will be a vehicle for telling an escalating power fantasy and selling toys. How many episodes are just Goku "powering up" while the narrator talks over a still image? The difference between DBZ and Super is that you're 20 years older. Super is arguably better paced, if anything, which is why the power escalation is more apparent.
And, btw, Goku and Vegeta are training almost all the time in Super. If they're not training, they're fighting the newest big bad. They definitely train more, pound for pound, than they did in DBZ.

Every one of these DBZ topics is just bait.

Feel free to enjoy it, it looks cool like old DBZ. But if you want to look at it technically, or try to judge how it could be better, simply watch the characters and count how often you actually see them move.

Even on a first viewing, my mind is screaming "ZOOM OUT so I can see what's happening!" It's kind of like a bad MCU fight, they'll show you the before and after (and for anime, freeze-frame on the hit connecting), but won't actually show you how a hit connects because that's more work than is necessary.

And stop blaming your dates for your personality. If you were more confident and positive, maybe it'd go better. Even if it didn't, at least you would feel better about it.

In general, if other people are actively making your life worse, that's something you can point to. For example, if you're being abused at home or at work. If the problem is just that other people aren't giving you what you want, you need to readjust your expectations and attitude. Other people are not obliged to feed your emotions, but you and they should treat each other with respect as human beings.

One thing I'm going to mention here, since it crops up in most episodes: I don't care for the rampant sexism. Far too many of the female are practically begging for men to notice them, to the point where its their only character trait. I appreciate its a different time, but it's difficult to watch sometimes. Number One is probably the best female character in these first 19 episodes ( the phaser overload is brilliant), yet she gets a derogatory comment thrown her way from a subordinate, practically apologises for being good at her job and then roped into being a candidate for Eve. The general vibe of progress is absolutely wonderful, but they're definitely stumbling on a few steps.

While there's definitely some gross sexism, keep in mind that sex appeal was seen as majorly empowering at the time. The mini-skirt, in particular, was a symbol of freedom and control.

I've been playing a lot of NES games lately. Batman, A Boy and his Blob, Little Nemo - the cities feature bright red brick buildings, deep black or blue night backgrounds, and sparkling bright buildings in the night background.

Even old shows like TMNT, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, or Sesame Street - the style and color of the buildings, you can just tell it's New York.

Does anyone else feel this way? The shift from NY focuses stories to more California focused stories feels like media has lost so much culture and diversity. I dunno, maybe it's just nostalgia...

Gen 1 was really designed as an RPG first. There's only 2 Snorlax and 1 of each legendary and whatever their DVs are is what they are. You beat the game, you fill out the dex, and you're done. PvP barely worked and there wasn't even breeding.
