I love playing point-and-click adventures for, among many reasons, their relaxing gameplay and nostalgia from my youth, but it isn't often that I become engrossed in one. This is one of the exceptions.

I wasn't sure what to expect from an action/farming roguelite, but this one blew me away. I think my skill is capped around the middle of the difficulty (aka years) options, but man I got addicted to it for a couple of days.

I have only backed around 10-15 projects on Kickstarter over the past decade, but of the ones that met their funding target, I guess the de facto "horror story" is that one ultimately canceled the development about a year later.

There really isn't much more to say than I did the first time that I beat this a few years ago. It's goofy brand of humor is right up my alley, and the physics are equally fun and goofy, though they probably should have done away with anything requiring precision.

Seven years after going through Shovel of Hope, I'm finally going through the other campaigns.

Uuugh, I'm sick of these games and I still have to get through gen 7.

Unless it is your job or someone is threatening you and your loved one's life/health, you don't have to. Believe me, you don't want to force yourself to go through games you aren't enjoying or aren't finding the time investment to be worth it.

Old School Musical (PC)

I have never been big on pure rhythm games, but this seemed unique enough to want to try. More than anything, this might be my favorite presentation for a pure rhythm game. From the color scheme matching the Xbox controller buttons, as well as their cardinal direction, to the right prompt size/speed combo, to the background action, I thought that they did an outstanding job making a rhythm game, fun, accessible, and challenging at the same time.

Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows (PC)

Shovel Knight was I believe the very first game that I ever Kickstarted, and I beat the original campaign way back in 2015. I even bought the game twice more to support Yacht Club, but it wasn't until the past month or so that I finally got around to playing the other campaigns that have since been considered standalone games.

Perhaps it was to my benefit that I waited so long from Shovel Knight to Plague Knight because apparently the stages are essentially the same. I wasn't so sure about Plague Knight at first, but once I got the vat power up and had a lot of customization options for my basic attack, I got very into it. I would have to try out Shovel of Hope again to definitively say which character I prefer.

Definitely a large or medium sized breed. Out of these, the retriever or Bernese.

Good, now play the rest of Housemarque's games if you haven't already. Outland and Nex Machina are their finest works.

If Dragon Warrior Monsters is an unusual entry, I wonder what that makes me since Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 (Cobi's Journey) was my first.

I can't think of many examples that would be "unusual," but I suppose Jak 3 is as good of an option as any

What is Game of the Month Club?
Game of the Month is a community project open to all B8ers where users share, discover, play and/or discuss a select few games every month. The games featured each month are chosen by YOU the users (and Lady Luck)

The Basics
- Each month will usually feature three games that were chosen via a random drawing from a pool of games that users nominated
- For each game you beat, you get a cool point on our just-for-fun standings as well as a nomination for next month's randomized drawing
- In order to receive the point and nomination, you must beat said game within the calendar month
- If you beat one of the current month's games in the previous month, you can apply for a "recently beaten waiver," but you will only receive a point and no nomination should you do so
- Drawing for next month's games is usually on the 25th
- If you periodically keep us posted on your progress and/or talk about different aspects of the games, then everyone will think you are super awesome!

Nomination Rules
- You get one nomination automatically each month
- You receive additional nominations each month for every featured game that you beat
- Each game you nominate has to be unique from all other nominations and cannot include a game that has already been selected for GotM
- Each game must be a standalone game that can be acquired and played on its own (aka cannot be DLC/expansion that requires the base game)
- Nominations only carry over if you beat a featured game after the drawing for next month's games but before the end of the month
- You have 9 supports you can use throughout the year. Your only limitations are that you can't support your own nomination, and you can only use one support per game per month

Other than some late-game framerate drops in the hub area, this was a solid and funny bite-sized action-adventure game.

Most, if not all, of the human characters were modeled/had performance capture by their voice actors, like Forest Whitaker and Debra Wilson obviously were for Saw and Cere respectively. I looked up Cal and Trilla after playing, and they certainly were as well.
