some of my favorite listening experiences this past couple months have been synclistening to a bunch of music by "Hiroyuki Mizuno" with uf8 and sometimes other friends. definitely a new addition to my list of vgm composers i'm enthusiastic about; and i can not understate how thankful i am for uf8's efforts to dig for ridiculously obscure AMAZING stuff like this. thank you so much for sharing this stuff with us

oh yeah i just want to add, there will probably be another one of those synclistening sessions as soon as i get that other soundtrack i've been waiting to arrive (ANOS2/Sora no Fudousan's soundtrack, as usual in both pc and x68000 versions). was hoping to get it before noms but it still hasn't made it into the country yet)

agree, probably not my least favourite overall since i have an unreasonable bias for any of them that have true mew equivalent status but design wise easily yeah

voted sad tanabata star comet genie. i rather liked its lore largely providing a very valid reason for it to not appear in normal gameplay

sad they retired the mew clone concept after gen 5 really, though they did stop at an ideal number to be fair

i like how oak being the best trainer of his generation was finally (well, semi-)canonised in masters

i feel they generally tend to do a really good job leaving subtle implications that this is kind of the case with a lot of professors, kukui being a particularly special case of course

i have a bad tendency to never use the water starters (despite generally liking them, most have good personality traits by default which is a noticeable plus) so i went and actually compared their statspreads before making any decision here

gotta admit i didn't expect swampert to have the highest attack (or for all of them to be so generally lacklustre in that area)...

Samurott > Empoleon > Inteleon > Blastoise > Primarina > Swampert > Feraligatr > Greninja

gameplay wise samurott would be cleanly at the bottom for me but truthfully, all i actually gleaned from checking this is that a lot of them aren't as fun to use as they should be so it's not as big a factor as i thought it would be. in any case, maybe it's because it was fortunately in the same gen as the musketeer legendaries but i feel like they really nailed this super noble and passionate samurai style with it even with the non-bipedal form. it's that sense of character that pulls it over the edge for me, even with everything else here being as cool as they are

also side shoutout to inteleon for being greninja but more fun gameplay wise lol (and just cooler (personal preference))
