There will be no political consequences to this. No one mad at this was undecided. Abortion rights have slowly been eaten away over the past decade and there weren't political consequences to that either.

Americans are selfish pricks. More people are going to vote based on how much gas costs than a fundamental right being taken away from millions of women.

Doubtful. It might mitigate the expected losses somewhat, but I don't think there's enough single issue voters out there supporting abortion rights, nor people right now who are willing to stomach the inflation issues in order to try and protect/restore it.

Would it matter though? By 2024, we'll likely be dealing with a conservative majority in the Senate and House, with a possible conservative president.

exactly this. it's not so much "liberals don't understand conservatives" as it is "the beliefs of conservatives are self-contradictory nonsense."

it's unreal the way they complain about outrage culture while completely steeped in every form of media hell bent on riling themselves up about how white men are under attack (literally what was being said in a podcast he was listening to first thing in the morning while visiting) and it leaves them constantly on-edge

when he comes by I just try to distract him with games & shows but it's useless, he can't stop zoning back out for hours checking back to the discord groups, podcasts, youtube videos, and social media comments sections, all while calling everyone a sheep while he's the carbon-copy clone of every terminally online alt-righter on the web.
