| Kisai 08/23/17 10:48:55 PM #1 | I was ringing up a school teacher that's kind of a regular, and I asked if she got to see the eclipse. She said she was too busy teaching class, but apparently they wouldn't let the kids go out to see it. I remember back in 1995, there was a solar eclipse going on over the US and we didn't get to do anything special for that either. Just continue school as normal, so in my pettiness, a part of me was like, "Good. If we didn't get anything special, they shouldn't either." Then again, in Arizona, we only got like, 50% coverage, and even at totality you barely noticed it, so there wasn't much for the students to miss anyway. (Aside from the otherworldly shading everything was covered in.) But it sounded like the school was practically on lock down for these kids. Nobody was allowed outside at all during the eclipse, like something terrible would happen to the kids if they even stepped outside. But the weirdest thing was that she was going to show the kids some videos or pictures from the internet of the eclipse, like from NASA, but apparently the school wouldn't let her do that. Why the hell wouldn't they let her show any images of the eclipse or anything? Sounds like a nice topic of education for the day. I've heard of schools having "zero tolerance" policies for stuff, but if it's being applied here, that's going a bit overboard... And the way she talked, it sounded like they had her at the door to her classroom practically on guard duty during the eclipse to make sure no kids left the room or anything. --- WHO MODS THE MODERATORS? |

| Kisai 08/23/17 1:01:05 AM #1 | And this time, I'm getting more into it. I've been trying to start with Embodiment of The Scarlet Devil, and I infinite continued my way through Easy. However, it seems you can only get the 6th stage if you play on Normal or higher. If you want to unlock Extra, you have to beat Normal or higher without using a continue. I can get as far as the second stage, but Cirno starts messing me up way too hard. ;_; I usually die at least once or twice to her, and then Meiling finishes me off in the third stage. I never even get to stage 4. And yes, I'm aware that Meiling gives a 1-up halfway through stage 3, but that's how bad it is for me. It doesn't help at all. --- WHO MODS THE MODERATORS? |
