Like this guy, Josh Turner. Insane musicianship, tasteful playing, no ego. Just plays the freakin' song and then cuts the camera.

I was working on building my PC this past weekend and nearly every video I came across had about 2-3 minute intro of just bullshit.

"Thanks for watching my video. Be sure to subscribe and like this video. I know I have posted a video in a while. I've been busy with school and my mom got sick. She keeps asking me to go the pharmacy for her, so it's taking up a lot of my time. She has some respiratory infection. I think she got it because she smokes too much. School has been tough. I didn't make all A's. Haha sorry for the rant! I've just been so busy. I know you've been waiting on a new video. We're going to talk about choosing the right processor for your rig. Oh, man - sorry about my dirty-ass fingernails. I never trim them because it's too hard to see in the basement of my mom's house."

^On that topic I get really sick of food recipes where the blogger decides their entire life story is important to the recipe, and instead of some simple instructions they mix it all into the pastiche of life anecdotes.

"Ok so here's a simple little pasta recipe that nonna used to make. We'd have these big backyard parties and she'd put out tonnes of the stuff for all the local kids. Now I suggest fresh egg spaghetti, which reminds me of the time nonna used to make her own using wheat from the local farmer. She always struggled to walk up that way so we'd usually drive her. Now you're gonna want to heat a pot of water and add some salt. We had this old Ford Focus that was painfully overdue a service and always smelled of mothballs..."

I don't exactly fault people for the "Like, comment, subscribe" thing, because plenty of people don't ever like or subscribe to channels they watch videos from all of the time. But it should be at the end of the video tbh.

Hahaha. Alternate ending would be where they just blow through all of the last steps really quickly sped up. I've seen a few videos that do that as well.

Back in the day, if you needed help with a boss, you'd search it and click a video, and it would usually show a 2 minute video on what techniques you need to beat the boss.

Now, you search and the shortest video is like 11 minutes long, has a thumbnail of some face with an exaggerated expression, an arrow pointing to literally nothing, and a title typed like "HOW TO BEAT THIS BOSS! IS IT REALLY THAT EASY!?!?!?!?". When you click it you gotta watch an unskippable 20 second ad. When you finally get to the actual video, it has a 30 second intro of the guy's channel with clips from various other shit he does that you don't care about, then starts off with the phrase "What's up Youtube? [channel name] here! Today we're going to go over how to beat this boss!"

Then he spends 8 minutes with annoying ass commentary about all these things you don't care about and him trying and failing the boss, while jump-cutting to the next attempt because he thinks it's comedic or helpful. Finally the last attempt is the one that kills the boss, which is the only useful 30 seconds of this long ass video. Then he ends with "Be sure to like, comment, and subscribe! And check out my twitter and instagram! And give my Patreon a look if you want to see more videos like this!" before fading out into a some pic of his avatar and thumbnails of 3 other videos takes up the last 90 seconds of the vid.
