In the original trilogy, they weren't Nazis but were just sort of a general representation of the Axis powers. You had guys in gray uniform, yes, but you also had a samurai in Darth Vader and Star Destroyers which were patterned after Japanese naval fleets. And the AT-ATs were based off of Hannibal and his elephant brigade and they had nothing to do with World War II.

All that making the bad guys white supremacists accomplishes is allowing some nerds to vent on the people that they dislike at the expense of making fans feel guilty about liking the Empire because they're collectively a lot cooler than the good guys.

Good on them. The character was created as an ethnic dig against Allie Reynolds. And while his features aren't as exaggerated as they used to be, having an Indian mascot with tomato red skin probably isn't for the best.

I understand the complaints from those who are losing a cherished mascot, but it's sort of like someone having nostalgic memories of being told the bedtime story of Little Black Sambo. That's not something that belongs in this generation and not something which needs to be passed along to the next one.

I always like that part in the Super Mario Bros. movie where Mario says, "Where the hell are we?" It's probably the only media in which Mario curses.

Well, aside from Lou Albano slipping in that one line when he's supposed to be saying, "thank you, Luigi." That one's a classic.

"And you have spaghetti on your shirt."
"Aww, fuck you, Luigi."

"Honestly I don't have energy to talk about the racial violence of white people any more. Yes ALL white people.

"Because most of ya'll don't even realise or refuse to acknowledge that your existence, privilege and success as a race is built on the backs, blood and death of people of colour.

"Your entire existence is drenched in racism."

Fair, next.

L’Oréal champions diversity. Comments by Munroe Bergdorf are at odds with our values and so we have decided to end our partnership with her.

Props to L'Oréal.

Too many people think that prejudice toward white people is justified because it's in response to prejudice. We're not all offenders and we shouldn't all carry the burden. "Diversity" isn't code for hatred of white people. It's about respecting and including individuals of many different backgrounds and walks of life. There's no room for hatred of an entire ethnic group when there's never been a crime for which an entire ethnic group has ever been at fault.

People will only post that a transgendered woman was fired because it makes her seem like a victim. But, honestly, she's a victim of her own prejudice and I have no sympathy for her in this situation. I only feel sorry for L’Oréal who is going to take flack from the crowds which agree with Monroe or the ones who feel that minority status means more than individual character.

Whatever happens, they did the right thing.

My sister's dog didn't seem to mind the surgery, but he cried on account of being kept in a cage and separated from her for much of the day. Given his history before his rescue, he may have thought he was being abandoned yet again.

Once he got back, he ripped his cone off and went about his business as though nothing had happened. That was actually kinda worrisome -- since there was a threat of him tearing out his stitches or getting an infection -- but no harm came.

I've had several dreams involving Jason Voorhees. Some scary, some comedic, some self-aware.

There was one dream where he grabbed me by the throat, but I ended up blowing his head off with a shotgun after two men pulled him off of me. I thought that would be the last dream -- since he was "dead" -- but he's gone on to appear in three more dreams after that.

I will say that, nightmare or not, most of the famous monsters have appeared in one dream or another.

Columbus was known for his cruelty by his peers and his own diary documents his abuse of slaves.

This isn't a case of every white guy in history being evil. This is a case of Columbus being a legitimately bad person. It's only retroactively that he was made out to be a noble and heroic figure on account of his discovery. What he accomplished is immeasurable, but that does not make him a man of character or a person worth celebrating.

The people who left them chained should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. That is sociopathic behavior. They are leaving them to drown or starve. They should be punished not for animal neglect, but for taking an animal life in a deliberate and inhumane manner.

It definitely seems like they're wanting to be a little edgier with this one. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if one of the motivations for the crossover, possibly even the primary motivation, was to allow some of the Rabbids' edge to rub off on Mario.

Mario wasn't exactly all smiles in the trailer for the game.

Actually, a little bit of Biblical etymology renders this argument void. To "kill" was to take a life without just cause. To kill without it being murder was to "slay." Cain killed Able. David slew Goliath.

The State of Florida slew a man for killing two people. :v
