Minimizing the ears basically means they're ashamed that he's Batman. I'm sure they would have called it Dark Knight Vs. Superman if they felt they could've gotten away with it.

The thing is Ben Affleck is pretty fit and tall. The strong fat look doesn't really work for his body type.
