I know you like to throw the word triggered around, but you seem pretty triggered bro. Honestly your responses don't deserve a response, because you're clearly not in the right state of mind to have a discussion. I can't tell if you're trolling or not with your constant whining, but the business had no obligation to make this for the customers and no amount of "but"s or "yeah but what if"s will change that.
Excellent. No actual awareness of your own shit posting. Where do we cross the line at what a business can refuse to do without it being discriminatory?

I've already answered this.

If they provide the same exact service/cake to customers but refuse to do the same for specific groups of people that's discrimination.

If they have to bake the figures on top of the cake manually. Sure. They can refuse baking two same sex figures and say they don't do that. But they should still be able to offer an alternative. In pretty much all of these cases they refuse to serve the couple at all.

If you advertise that you bake wedding cakes you need to provide that service to everyone who wants a wedding cake.
So if you advertise that you make custom cakes but won't make a custom Trump MAGA hat cake and that's not discriminatory but it's different than advertising you make wedding cakes but not homosexual wedding cakes and that is discrimination?

Yeah we're definitely going to have to agree to disagree.

Uh...the state stepped in and heavily fined the bakers who refused to bake something for the same sex couple. Do you not think the baker here should be fined as well?

I was actually going to mention this too. I wonder how it will pan out because even if the bakers disagree with Trump, the act of imposing their beliefs onto their customers and bringing about consequences for their disagreement muddies the waters because its Trump sets a dangerous precedent for refusing the service of, for example, homosexual couples as you mentioned and we encountered before.

So while I can see the logic, I just wish these bakers saw a larger picture. I am not personally pro-Trump but the current events surrounding him and his presidency unearth a nasty loophole that reveals how certain chastisable behaviors become OK when its against Trump. However, once those behaviors become acceptable, everyone becomes vulnerable. . . Such a (pun intended) sticky situation.
This is what I'm trying to convey. But you've done it better.

@Darmik I'm on my phone so this is easier than quoting.

A homosexual cake will feature two male figurines on the top of the cake, if I remember the article right, and that was the objection of the bakery is that they didn't want to promote homosexual marriage. Which I don't agree with. But that's the point I'm getting at. Where do we cross the line at what a business can refuse to do without it being discriminatory? If feelings don't fall into the catergory of acceptable refusals then what's the difference between refusing to promote homosexual marriage and Trump as a president?

If we are going to make exceptions,

I'll stop you there. There are no exceptions being made. That is a difference between refusing certain customers completely and refusing to make custom products.

It's plain and simple. You can't force a business to bake a cake depicting gay sex. But that doesn't mean a bakery can refuse to serve gay customers.

You can't force a business to make a product they don't provide.
Did they refuse the cake because it was from a homosexual couple or did they refuse it for the message that the couple wanted on the cake? I mean refusing two male figurines depicting a homosexual couple on a cake and a MAGA message on cake isn't all that different. They both carry a message the bakery wasn't comfortable with. It's a bias because it's easier to exempt the Trump supporters getting refused rather than the homosexual couple because Trump is a dumbass. But is it really different? Honestly?

Also I'm misunderstanding your last statement. It seems to contradict your previous statements. But I agree you can't force a business to make a product they don't provide. In these two cases homosexual themed cakes and Trump themed cakes.

Depends. Were the gay couple unable to get a standard wedding cake they'd offer to straight couples?

Or were they unable to get a custom cake made specifically for them?
If we are going to make exceptions, in this case it was the customers who wrong but in this case it was the bakers who were wrong, then there's no basis for any kind of law/policy to protect both parties. Either both the Trump supporters and the homosexual couple were discriminated or they weren't. What was available to them to go elsewhere is irrelevant if we are going to determine in the future what bakeries can do or not do within their business ethics or whether it's all discrimminitory. Both bakeries refused to do something the customer was willing to pay money for them to do. Siding with either party on a case by case basis is a double standard.

It's different than a homosexual couple and/or a Trump supporter going to a mechanic and the mechanic refusing to do work on their car. Because their sexual orientation or political beliefs don't factor into the work he is going to do on their car. In the case of a bakery it's not the same thing. Now whether you think in either case the bakeries moral stance is wrong or not is something only you can decide. But their morals do factor into the messages they are willing to make on a cake.

There is nothing wrong with liberals. Unfortunately liberals get grouped in with the collective of radical left nut jobs.

People want to attack a symbol. People on the right lump all liberals in with groups like Antifa and BLM. People on the left lump all conservatives in with groups like the alt-right and the KKK. They then attack the most extreme wackos and claim that the entire side is aligned with them.

It's identity politics in the worst form.

I see

so everyone just sees the extreme/radical side of each party (idiots) and lumps them in with everyone else that affiliates themselves with that party, and dismisses the the actual good things that they are trying to stand for. Got it.
Most of the time. Because it easier to just lump people together and write them all off as that group than to actually engage people and try to come to an understanding of their point of view and/or political stance. Parisian politics have encouraged Americans to be lazy and just go with their preferred party and write off the others. That keeps Americans distracted and not paying attention to the awful things the government is doing at the expense of it's people. If we are too worried about internet typos and age old email conspiracies, then what attention are we going to give to the policies that are being put in place while we look at the shiny penny?

Only when it fits a narrative. Otherwise double standards are fine.

This.

Also, nb4"that'stotallydifferentcuzblahblahhatecrime"

The gay wedding cake incident drew fines because the bakers doxxed the couple to local hate groups that had their property vandalized, got all kinds of threats, and had to flee their house.

But hey don't let your bullshit narrative stop you from lying on the internet.
The actions of the bakery outside their refusal to bake the cake are irrelevant to the point of whether any bakery should be able to decide what they do want and not want to do. That's why we have police and state officials to step in when it does get out of hand, which it did in the case of the homosexual couple.

Again, if one bakery shouldn't refuse to do a homosexual themed cake, then why is it okay for these Trump supports not to get a Trump themed cake?

Because all I see here is "Omg they won't make their wedding cake! Bigots! Homophobes!"
"Lol Trumpeters are crying they can't get their orange king on a cake! Lol! USA USA!"

Double standards are the case here. Not homophobia or what presidential candidate people voted for. Unless of course people don't have an agenda to push. But I find that's highly unlikely in both cases.

If your folks didn't teach this to you as a child, the president saying anything or not isn't going to sway a person. Either you've reached the conclusion as an adult that you will treat people equally without prejuding people or you've made to the choice to do the opposite.

That's because most of CE doesn't read the articles as already enters threads triggered by the thread title. The definition of baiting.

I mean your free to shit post assumptions about me and satisfy your bias but I didn't take a side at all. I merely pointed out that before my post, it was clear people didn't read the article TC posted and went off his thread title to make their posts. Both sides of this political shit posting bait to rile people up. But it's certainly clear your only contribution to this thread is insults.

Except the title is correct. You're the one who shitposted and didn't read it.
Try again. I read it. People went off your thread title and came in with preconceived notions. I didn't even say at any point that your thread title wasn't correct. Both of you are reaching and trying to say I said something I didn't. People not reading articles in the OP before posting is a problem on CE and why this thread started the way it did. You seem to be the one taking it personally.

Because Americans are fooled into thinking if it's not a chain it's automatically a higher quality and therefore feel culture and superior when they pay for overpriced food.

Or maybe you don't know the economic advantages of being part of a larger conglomerate.
Pizza Hut isn't automatically inferior to Mom & Pop's Pizzaria because it's cheaper. Larger companies have more capital and more buying power so they can get the products they need cheaper and at greater quantities.

But it still doesn't mean that Mom & Pop's Pizzaria isn't able to be fairly competitive. I've eaten at local Chinese joints that I've paid $7 for General Tso that lasted me three meals.

I've eaten $8 pizzas from local pizzarias that's worse than Little Ceasars. In the end it's quality all around. Not the price and/or the restaurant name.

Look at this foreign toolbox that's never had mom and pop pizza.
Great assumption. On par for CE though. And absolutely no surprise.

That said I've had good local pizza and I've had absolute shit local pizza. But if people continually pay too much for something willingly than why would a local place not over charge?

Quality is all that matters, not the sign in front of building. But we Americans have become elitist in foods, and especially in pizza for some reason.

Also vagina is great. I tried anal one time with my wife and neither of us cared to do it again. Also with women the tounge is stronger than the penis.

Edit: To the OP. I'd say it's more likely going to happen than a heterosexual guy helping out a homosexual guy. Women tend to be less "uptight" about sexuality than guys.

How am I being ignorant?

Well for one, you read something on the Internet about a man who died almost 100 years ago, and now think you're the divine judge on how that man actually was.

Nope, you're just another peon nobody that will be forgotten in time, like everyone else.

lmao way to exaggerate
He's not wrong based on your posting in this thread. Your shit posting and opinions are invalid when you have no accomplishments as Ghandi did. But I expect no less from CE tbh.

After gastric bypass surgery there are foods that literally can make a person sick. Digestion changes after these surgeries. And eating too much or certain foods can cause nausea and vomiting. It's not something you can have done and just go back to your old eating habits.

I don't know the person in question in the OP but he might find smaller portions more frequently throughout the day are better for his digestion. And as I said before he might also find some foods his body will reject if consumed. If indeed his surgery was gastric bypass.

lol Parents who put politics onto their kids are the worst.

That said they shouldn't have a problem with a place refusing to bake a cake for them for any reason, it happened to a couple trying to get a wedding cake made, why can't it happen to anyone else

Uh...the state stepped in and heavily fined the bakers who refused to bake something for the same sex couple. Do you not think the baker here should be fined as well?
Only when it fits a narrative. Otherwise double standards are fine.
