Some of the new stuff was only just released today but half of it was in an early access release of the DLC so I can explain that stuff at least.

Two of the new characters are known. Nocturna has cutscenes in the story mode. She starts with one of the new weapons, the cutlass, and can turn into a bat form. In bat form she flies, has a 4-damage attack and can drain health every 5 kills, but can't use any items, including shovels.

The other character is Diamond, who can move and attack diagonally. As a result he can't use diagonal inputs for items and spells. Bombs are the Up/Down input, and one item can be used on Left/Right. Some weapons are removed on account of diagonal attacks, too.

Two other characters are new today but I haven't played yet to see what they do

The fifth zone adds electrical wires on the floor, which power up zombie enemies that stand on them and also give you a chain lightning effect on attacks if you stand on them. When playing as Nocturna these wires and enemies from zone 5 can appear in earlier zones.

A number of new weapons. the harp, which works somewhat like Melody or the Lute but not exactly the same. Axe is like a mix between Broadsword and Rapier. Cutlass has two range and protects you from damage if you're dealing damage on the same turn. Warhammer is broadsword and longsword combined. Staff fires a beam whenever you attack an adjacent enemy.

can someone who understands mario 64 explain whats happening here, this has happened to me like 50 times on my last playthrough and I never remember it happening before

The short version is that when those platforms are tilted just right, parts of them are considered ceilings. In the game's code, a ceiling's collision box is impassable and extends upward into infinity until a floor above it cancels it out.

The long version is in these two videos:

It's these weird ranges, +2 if you had 1-4 skill ups relating to that attribute, +3 for 5-7, +4 for 8-9, +5 for 10 or more.

Leveling up non-major/minor skills isn't supposed to increase your level up progress, but if you have already reached full level up progress it will tell you every time you gain any skill, not just major/minor. Maybe you just missed the message on the previous major/minor skill increase.

it's like if in a regular run the runner would go "uh yeah this part is way too hard" and they get some other runner to do it. i get it, these runs are mostly for fun, but i still like for them to be at least somewhat legit.

I'm pretty sure that exact thing has been done before. Also had difficulty levels lowered mid-run, and other cases before HGSS where a backup save was loaded.

If you're looking for "serious" run attempts only, start watching runners' personal streams. This is an exhibition, not a competition.

Capcom mostly stays hands-off, yeah. Though recently they took down a bunch of translated Ace Attorney videos

In the SFxMM case the developer actually directly pitched it to Capcom people at EVO so that's a little bit different at least

Kinda weird that this doesn't even have all the bosses and weapons from the featured games yet, but they put in two different Smash Bros. attacks

The lack of 4 face buttons ironically makes the controls better in ZM and Fusion. Run button no longer exists, and selecting ammo is greatly simplified. Wall jumping is also more intuitive.

This show was based on a script from several years ago that had cut Grant out for the sake of time, seems likely he didn't make it back in, though with 8 episodes next season they might find a way.

How far through the level was the SMB2 runner when they paused and fixed?

As soon as he reached the character select for 4-1, the other two paused. Then he quickly used the warp in 1-3 to get to the character select screen for 4-1 and they unpaused

well Alucard is by far the most interesting character in the series so it's definitely smart to use a game that features him

but also CV3 is chronologically pretty early in the series so it's a decent starting point that they could eventually build on with later series based on other games

Show beated

I feel like this could have been shortened to 3 episodes. The last big fight scene is good. There are some other scenes with animation goofiness though. No Grant, as expected, though I feel like one character was supposed to be a sort of nod to him.

They did announce today that season 2 will have eight episodes. I kinda wonder what they're gonna do with all those. Since this was all setup they were able to find enough stuff for the characters to do, introduce their circumstances and personalities, etc. but once they're at the castle I wonder what else they're going to have left.

if you're on PC there are some bugfix patches you should get. Morrowind Code Patch and Morrowind Patch Project. And if you have the expansions activated you should get Delayed Dark Brotherhood Attacks and the Solstheim Rumor Fix. Otherwise expansion-related content appears way too quickly and imbalances the game

Donation comments on the other hand are absolutely horrid and I would actually pay 50 dollars for an alternate audio stream that didn't read them

So, about those WRs . . . turns out their timer was running slow for every game before Monkey Ball. This is why so many runners were surprised by their times. Odds are none of the WRs so far are valid, the timer was losing almost one second per minute.

I wouldn't expect this version of Star Fox 2 to be any different than the prototype ROM. Not saying it definitely won't be, but I'm not counting on it.

the game was completely finished and submitted to Nintendo, with additional features and polish not seen in the prototypes we have. Dylan Cuthbert has said so for years. Why would it not be the finished version?

Also, the prototypes are the JP version and it's only through fan patches that we have English dialogue, so it's 100% not gonna be identical to the prototypes
