Mega Man ended a while ago. No official reason exists but the speculation is either that Capcom wanted to end it so a new series associated with the new cartoon could launch with minimal brand confusion, or Archie's financial issues led to its end, or both

Regardless of which was the truth I have little faith that a new series will actually launch with the cartoon, at least not with Archie.

I have not! I need to play a lot of hacks. Theo sent me an MM4 hack yesterday that I've been neglecting for a while now.

Minus Infinity is by far the best MM hack out there. It even keeps a sane difficulty level for the most part. I'd probably rate it harder than any official MM game, but not by much.

I'm guessing this was Mori wanting to do a RWBY game (he's said so in the past) but ASW not being confident it would sell well on its own. They probably had this crossover idea bouncing around and decided this would be a good opportunity to use both ideas


And yeah they couldn't reuse Guilty Gear XX sprites because those were made at a significantly lower resolution than HD sprite-based fighters and would look pretty bad in comparison, not unlike Morrigan in MvC2

If we're counting side tournaments then there's definitely a Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo tournament every year with a non-negligible number of entrants. There might even be a Hyper Fighting tournament, that's the one other version of SF2 that still sees some level of play and is older than ST

Yeah, they did some contract work as early as NES and Game Boy. They're also responsible for Friday the 13th, as well as two decent NES platformers, Rockin' Kats and Wacky Races. There are even two Megami Tensei games on NES.

Rad Racer 1&2 - decent Outrun-style driving games with some rudimentary stereoscopic 3D technology if you have the glasses
Monster Party - platformer with funny bosses including one that says "Sorry, I'm dead." when you enter the room and then instantly dies

Alright, playing now and will add more info. There are some new bosses: Fortissimole is a rapping mole voiced by Mega Ran. Frankensteinway, a Frankenstein/Steinway grand piano combination. And a third boss that is a secret

Mary is based on the nursery rhyme and has a sheep that follows one step behind her. They are allowed to occupy the same space if necessary. If the sheep dies, Mary dies. She starts with spear and cookies (a new healing item). Currently I'm not sure how she's supposed to beat Fortissimole without getting the sheep killed.

Tempo kills everything in one hit, but go long enough without killing and a countdown starts which will kill you if you don't kill again. He can innately see the location of all enemies and starts with the blood dagger and a compass.

There are a number of new items too, too many for me to remember and explain.
