And that you thought Kain would be a forced roster shows that you didn't really get how the ability interactions went anyway so I understand why you thought the interp was outrageous. If I thought Kain would be a forced roster there I'd think the ruling was outrageous too.

Well. The recourse was to iron out the interactions between W100, Kain, Crono, and whoever else before just going in.

I haven't agreed with every ruling from the new regime but I've definitely clarified how everything works before making picks or using abilities.

I do disagree with the Knux ability fizzle firing the triggered Kain ability though particularly if you'd warned in advance.

Yeah don't really buy the choke working out. It is thick and the enemy team is gonna be charging since they're all melee. Impossible to hold em all-- if one breaks through that breaks up an attempt to siege a choke.

Vergil has short range teleports that can cover most of the ground. Akuma has a sliding warp thing. Sora glides. Kratos has those boots that let him dash fast. Might be effective vs Arthas but at least one's getting through and then yeah since I don't consider any choke strat an instant win the others would get through. And then they're just outmatched

The dumbest part is

- I had no idea what Kan was talking about when he asked me and initially said "no of course Mega Man can't appear and use the Energy Totem then disappear if he sent an invalid roster the ability says it gets cancelled"
- The extent of my input was saying "yeah that makes sense" and telling him to remain consistent with what he told Eddv initially since I know that guy is meticulous and it'd be dumb to say something works then say it doesn't. The ruling was already made when I got there.

That being said the ability says straight up "can't be rostered" and is guaranteed to occur which means dude isn't "if able" to be rostered so yeah it makes sense to me.

Well I agree with the ruling as is.

There's a ban on the rostering that is guaranteed to resolve due to Kain's passive and it uses the wording "cannot be rostered" so you're unable to be rostered.

In either case, probably something to ask about in advance to clarify before just using the ability.

I just don't like the propaganda that dogs care more about you than cats just because they're more demanding of your attention (if a human acted like a dog they'd actually be called self centered!). And that's a good true story to illustrate that fact. It's not like the dog was even emaciated. It wasted no time-- there was no howling in sorrow or anything to that effect. It was just chow time.

Going by US release dates yeah 95 was pretty lame. Most of the games in here that appeal to me like Suikoden and Tetris Attack were actually 96 releases in the US.

CT, Yoshi's Island, and MMX2 are a good set though.

Team Mega Man

The more I think about it, the more I think the following.

- This fight does not play to Armstrong's strengths. Mega Man and Zero are packing the kinda stuff that should punch through his nanomachines. Plasma is probably gonna do damage at that level. That and Armstrong is melee-- he can clear distance fairly rapidly but eh
- This fight does not play to DIablo's strengths. Mega Man and Pit have a good toolkit for fighting him, with Mega Man providing a massive tookit of ranged attacks and kiting tools, and Pit having weapons that are in theory super effective against him.
- This fight does not play to Ryu Hayabusa's strengths. Mega Man and Pit have enough homing weapons to heavily damage him on the approach I think-- given the rest of his team looking hulkish he seems like a more natural guy to gun for early. The biggest issue though is that Death's Miniscythes are gonna hurt Ryu's ability to pick off Pit as I could see a grid of scythes being particularly disruptive for knocking arrows off course. In theory this could disrupt Pit but the scythes do tend to move in a way that disrupts the enemy first. Also Pit's arrows probably shred through them cause of their holy nature anyway.

This fight is neutral to BASS's strengths as he's the only guy with actual ranged cred on the other team that isn't being actively disrupted, but if he goes up he's in a 2v1. He can only do so much, and I think Pit, Zero, or Mega Man can get through his shield with the right attack. Maybe Neptune too. I think one of em will sooner rather than later.

Also buffs. Smaller terrain Diablo wins but yeah.

Bass can fly, has some pretty good AoE, and aside from his auras he has some other cheesy things

He constantly hovers and has a variety of defensive Auras, and has a large number of wide-range attacks at his disposal. Even after removing his Aura, he is immune to the Mega Buster, and quickly regenerates his Aura in a matter of seconds.

That video Scare posted implies to me that he has actual flight. That's a little high to fall under the "chuu2 Magus style gliding over the ground"

But I'm not exactly convinced he could catch Pit with this either. A video where he's flying and moving a bit quicker would be good for selling that.

Anyway I'd like to say buffs win the day but it's kinda silly because I feel like Mega Man and Zero are kinda poor beneficiaries for buffs overall-- particularly the strength one since their weapons don't need strength. But speed is speed and always useful. On the other hand maybe Pit gets some boost out of a strength buff. All depends on whether he has mighty composite bows or not.

Leaning team Mega Man. Think the random toolkit of homing weapons and random weird ass projectiles between Pit and Mega Man combined with a haste buff can probably pin down Hayabusa reasonably well as they're closing in, and Zero's tankiness + two lives should be able to go toe to toe with Armstrong + Diablo. BASS I think can probably get his aura pierced by random Mega Man weapons. Atomic Fire or Crash Bomb or Laser Trident or whatever-- now after that point he's still very legit with his phasing around and stuff.

It's only a slight lean. I kinda need more convincing on Neptune's offensive contributions from range to abuse while flying around. If that's sufficient there should be enough support to handle the bum rush between her and Pit.
