BBT not firmly being in the bottom tier is the worst part of this list thus far for sure.

Definitely agree with the Family Guy write-up though. Unfortunately Family Guy's quality has gone so low that the franchise has basically been damaged beyond repair for me-- so like even if they're earlier episodes I'm like "nope"

Like uh I think basically the match flowchart was:

Fandango fights serious
Tag in janitor
Breeze clowns effectively with janitor
Teases win with some flash offense off of said clowning
Tags out
Fandango fights serious
Tag in granny
Breeze clowns effectively with granny, briefly
Usos ain't havin anymore of this, beat the crap out of granny
Fashion Police try to fight seriously but it's too late

See now the issue here is once you've introduced the granny, you've sorta trapped yourself.

Either the Usos look like idiots for continuing to fall for these shenanigans.
Or Breezango look like idiots for continuing these shenanigans until they inevitably fail.

The easy solution to the dilemma is to cut off the shenanigans before they hit the point where the Usos look like idiots for continuing to fall for it-- which frankly was around when janitor hit the spinkick. When Tyler gets a near fall on you with some explosive offense at that point the Usos would look stupid if they didn't take him remotely seriously like they did early on. They did a bit of this as they really should've just mauled granny immediately, but ultimately the Usos got out of the comedy bit before they were made to look like total fools, at the expense of the Fashion Police.

So yeah they managed to make the Usos not look like idiots, but the solution that makes neither of them look like fools is to just not drag it on that long

Well the issue with the tactic is less the lack of results (though I still think the best way to book it would've been to have Tyler just win off janitor spinkick-- possibly buffering the match with more Fandango being in before tagging if you want to make it go a bit longer) and more not knowing when to quit.

As I said I thought the janitor worked fine. Granny was pushing it and when it straight backfired on them.

Beat the Angel

Fatalize is probably better in game as a hot blooded fighting theme though-- but I think Beat the Angel is also good in game and holds up better as a standalone track.

Reading the opening post is always a good place to start. Can't say Kanzaris didn't communicate it.

Honestly there's nothing preventing from making a placeholder bid well in advance either. Schedule is on the wiki, so you can always PM Kanzaris a placeholder bid for next week as early as like this week's wartime.

I think that's a subtle thing involving overness that a lot of people don't get.

There's more to a guy being over than liking the guy. I think people like Austin Aries and Gallagher plenty-- hell even Neville, but they put em in a random ass meaningless tag match on Raw with special guest TJP, and people are chanting CM Punk at it.

Hell, even the Golden Truth breakup that got "thank you Goldust!" chants-- I don't think people hated the Golden Truth as performers, but they were jobbers who could never win anything and so no one cared about their matches, so Goldust turning and making them actually relevant to the show again was a GOOD thing. But in either case it's not because people don't like the guys in there. It's because they know what they're seeing is meaningless.

I think that's the trajectory for the Fashion Police at this moment. No one's going to care about their matches because the threat of them winning has been removed. So you see them on TV and you know it's just pointless comedy-- which might still get them good reactions for a while, but only has as much life as the comedy remaining fresh and once it dries up no one cares.

Yeah I'm sorta in the "I want them to win but they won't win" boat when I used to be in the "I want them to win and they just might!" boat before

I still technically like them as much but like, as far as matches involving them go I'm going to be a lot less invested going forward.

So I'd say it hurt their reactions from me at least.

That's a good way to put it Jakyl, yeah. Like I took it as they clowned too long and got punished for it.

Best part of it all is I actually thought the janitor comedy was good because he was clearly flustering Uso and it was funny. I totally would've bought the flippy kick to the head from janitor as a finish.

But the grandma was like three steps too far, and Usos took control at that point and never looked back.

Random note janitor part would've been like 10x better if the last Fashion Police skit just had Fandango wondering where Breeze was and the weird looking Janitor in the background the whole time, and the match starts with Fandango still acting distressed that Breeze isn't there and the janitor randomly following him and being on the apron

I mean everyone knows it's Tyler but at least there would've been a reason for him to come out in janitor garb. He'd still be "undercover."

I wouldn't. I don't think they "got over" from that match

The match got a reaction, funny haha, but I doubt it made them any more over than the fashion police skits did.

The best comedy acts are the guys who actually can be serious once in a while. Compare Chris Jericho's latest run to like, Santino.

Nah I actually agree with Bryan on Breezango vs Usos like

It's a damn title match you've received after a career of losing you should take it a bit more seriously than that.

The audience liking goofy comedy at all times doesn't mean it's the best thing to do. That's not to say they had to be total SRS BIZNIZ in the match, but like, I think the match would've been a lot better if Tyler had been clowning with the janitor outfit as normal, then after hitting the leaping kick out of nowhere in the janitor suit that was a near fall wrestled the match seriously. Like I buy acting like a clown to throw the Usos off as a legitimate tactic but the grandma was overdoing it.

(Other alternate booking said kick resulting in the win would've been cool but yeah)

Titus is a terrible wrestler, but he's got memorable offense to his credit.

Meanwhile, Jinder is a competent wrestler, but he's so basic I couldn't tell you a single thing Jinder does besides his finish, and I don't even know what he calls the Cobra Clutch Slam.

This is a great illustration of why I think Titus is better than Jinder btw

Like yeah Titus sucks but when he's on he's way better than Jinder. He had some train wrecks of promos but he's had some good ones too. Give me a guy who has some good things about him and some terrible days over a guy who's kinda boring all the time, every time.

Yeah despite it being from the team I'm voting for I think the Break argument is layers upon layers of silly

1. Why is Terra leading with Break, and why is Alucard her go to target for it.
2. Why is Alucard's reaction to Medusa Head petrify particularly terrible. He gets out of it which of anything makes it seem less effective than what you would expect Break to normally do, you know, kill.

Like the fundamental issue here isn't "they never thought about casting haste on a sword"

The issue is "they did in many many things, and whenever it happens it's a different spell or skill used to do it" which kinda throws the whole gameplay mechanics argument out of the window.

Enchanting weapons is usually its own specific school of magic is the thing, even in the games that allow it. Like you don't just cast a destruction spell on your sword in Skyrim to make a flaming sword. You need the enhancement school or whatever.

Like you can't really call it game mechanics when the mechanics in games to target objects vs living things exist as separate constructs in pretty much all representations of magic

The problem with random RPG protags is that

They don't 1v1 these fights, generally-- half the time it's not clear whether it's understood that every member of the party helped or not, and that stuff like spells that they don't really have access to in this situation matter a lot-- also it's not clear how cleanly they beat any of these enemies. Like, stuff like Phoenix Down exists. If Crono needs to be revived to beat Giga Gaia he didn't really beat it in a mercs match. If he needed to be healed he didn't either, not under these conditions.

If "magic" isn't good enough for you use the Fate/Stay Night lore of buffs targeting the person's magical circuits or whatever.

Like you're trying to say something that doesn't ever get shown to work on objects should work for em because "why not" when the "why not" can really just boil down to some BS about the nature of magic or whatever, because it's magic. Why are certain monsters immune to sleep or petrify?

I'd definitely take Kirby over any of the three one-on-one (dude has an incredible resume), and Kazuma/Tira are definitely respectable. Definitely not one-sided. Unfortunately, I don't see Team Kirby coming together to take on Team Crono. Kirby isn't exactly an excellent communicator, and I'm not sure either Tira or Kazuma can fill that gap. I'm aware of the fact that Crono doesn't speak, but he seems capable of understanding and using complex strategies, and if I'm reading feats correctly, it's a quick match if Crono/Juliet decide to double-team one of the others.
