He did. He asked her if she was joking or being serious. Obviously he didn't seem happy about it, and she pushed with the being serious aspect.

Keep in mind we have to question her reliability as a historian. This is a type of situation where any person could consciously or subconsciously leave out key info in order to put them in the best light possible.

That's a completely arbitrary requirement for having a Patreon that you've concocted. How do you know that someone didn't quit their day job to focus more creating the same type of content? There could be a multitude of reasons for someone starting up a Patreon account that don't just involve greed. Patreon doesn't exist for the sole purpose of supporting and only supporting side projects.

Yeah, if he's ready to throw her away just because she brings it up, he panics. No trying to ask why, exploring if there was an issue, etc. That's a panic move.

You have to keep in mind that this is a brief synopsis written by only one party. We have no way of knowing if there was any lead-up to this, and her mentioning not cheating being a traditional quality was incredibly bizarre. We should all give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she never cheated, but there's no way of knowing if there really wasn't faith-based friction between the two beforehand. And it's hard for me to frame this situation in any way other than she already had someone in mind when asking this. Maybe he had suspicions? Who knows. Yeah, no one should be calling her a slag, but you're being awfully generous to her by demonizing the boyfriend.

I guess that's your opinion, but asking for donations from a centralized platform like Patreon in order to support and improve the quality of future content is completely reasonable and not douchey at all. Look at someone like Jim Sterling. Like him or not, he has a Patreon, and the donations that roll in from that site allow him to produce weekly videos significantly higher in quality than before he had the Patreon. He does nothing other than make video game reviews, and he does a good job of it.

Unless you're actively paying him through Patreon or something for these reviews he now isn't going to do (and from a quick glance I can't find any reference to him having one) then he owes you nothing.

Even then Patreon is donation driven from my understanding. There's still no legal or even ethical responsibility to continue producing the same type of video, so long as you as a creator realize the donation money will stop rolling in if you change the formula significantly.

But at the end of the day his subscribers never really paid for any contractual service. And they still have access to all of his older videos. The guy can do whatever he wants, he'll just get significantly less traffic for it. I'm all for being a little bummed that someone you watch frequently is essentially closing up shop, but sending death threats and harassing him on social media is incredibly immature.

I almost always tip 20%, and only don't if the service is above and beyond god-awful. It's not the waiter's fault that restaurants don't pay them enough, and fucking them over isn't going to make the industry as a whole go "oh shit, we better pay our waiters more money because no one is tipping!". I just think it's stupid how people always want to make statements against businesses through the lowest people on the rung with absolutely no power to make any change.

Most of the time it's not about fighting the system. Most of the time it's just not wanting to be forced into paying extra for something, because your funds can be allocated elsewhere.

People who are trying to take into consideration the welfare of every human involved, and are trying to keep expectant mothers safe from psychological damage as well as their unborn fetuses from a likely lifetime of poverty.

I agree with everything in here with the exception of "sparing" a potential life from poverty. You're not doing a fetus any favors by terminating it. This is about autonomy of the mother (and in some cases nonmaleficence to her), which is totally fine and should be supported.

It is pretty hard, and requires a bit of luck. Contraception is only 90+% effective under perfect conditions. So when 100 people have sex with contraception, at least a few are still running the risk of pregnancy.

That depends entirely on the type of contraception and even then this statement isn't accurate and needs a caveat. Any hormone based contraception or LARC (long acting reversible contraceptive) has a theoretical efficacy of 99.9%. You're discussing typical use, which depending on the contraceptive can be as low as 78% (but is usually in the 90s). The CDC (and ACOG if you don't trust the CDC) have wonderful spreadsheets on contraception and their effectiveness.

I have an attractive co-worker at my new job and that we both just started. I'm in a relationship that she's aware of, and she's in one too. We're both doing long distance and we work with each other pretty much every day. I have not come onto her or anything like that.

only a few major teams are broadcast on the big networks (ABC, NBC, etc), and then you have a few smaller market teams on cable networks, like the twolves on TNT iirc.

but let's say you want to watch another team, then you have to shell out money for something like the NBA/NFL/etc Season Pass, so you're paying far out the ass for this, and then you cant even watch half the games because you have shit to do in your life or they're broadcast in a different time zone.

meanwhile if you ever wanted to see a sports game live you need to be ready to take out a second mortgage because ticket costs are ridiculous.

i think it's just that young people are sitting online all day now and they can just go on twitch and watch some dweeb play league of legends, but if they want to get into sports it means navigating an obtuse tv network system to find a team that they like or watching a sketchy chinese stream

It's exactly this for me at least. Shit is too expensive on top of it being a pain in the ass. Maybe instead of trying to place blame on potential viewership or enact destructive legislation, they just, ya know, adapt and eat the loss in revenue.

He passed at 0500 this morning in the ICU. He underwent a neck surgery 2 weeks ago to help with strength in his harm, and he ended up developing blood clots in his leg and main artery to the lung. There was an issue with anticoagulating him, because he shortly lost sensation and strength in his other arm after they put him on blood thinners. He had to have another surgery 2 days ago to decompress more spinal nerves, and he suddenly passed.

This sucks. I miss him. I am forever grateful that I got the opportunity to know him and to talk with him one last time yesterday.

I have no problem with him hating on video games. What drives me up a wall is when he passes his knowledge of non-video game topics off as fact or expert opinion.
