Maybe, and that's wrong. He shouldn't be protected, but we're now talking about a hypothetical doctor in a hypothetically unrealistic situation in a hypothetical deep south state winning a hypothetical lawsuit. I don't think that changes my position on government being unable to force someone to do something against their will.

In certain situations, I agree. In situations of life and death, they should be forced or forcefully removed from the job.

Let's be honest too with another scenario. If we made it a situation where it was a middle eastern man who refused to work on a white, Christian man based on his religious beliefs, those same people stating "religious freedom!" would be calling to get that doctor expelled too. (And he should be because he made a commitment being a doctor in our country)

With Christian extremists, it is a one-way battle. Always has been. Always will be.

Picking and choosing who to save is terrible. Imagine if all surgeons in this nation said they will never operate on a black person under any means. Hey, our nation supports that now, right?

You can't force people in certain situations but if you are going to be a doctor, you better be willing to. Otherwise, you should never, ever be one.

I completely agree, which is why I said the fictional doctor in this scenario would and should be fired.

I mean it sounds horrible, but this is where things get complicated. In no other instance can you FORCE someone to do work, and do their best work, for something they don't believe in. We would all expect the doctor to get fired for refusing service, but name another example where the government compels using law this exact same hypothetical scenario. It's his education, his choice, and he is not owed pay for his skill, but neither does he owe others his talent and time.

You could consider those things equally important or maybe even more so, since that's what you will be spending the majority of your time doing. Relationships aren't just 100% sex all the time, but sex cannot be completely absent from any relationship that you expect to be healthy or long lasting.

If you still wanted to date, basically all you could do was join an asexual support group or dating site and see if you meet someone there. I am one to believe that unless a guy specifies he has no desire for sex, that he definitely hopes and expects it somewhere down the line. At the same time, I believe no one should feel pressured into anything of the sort.

I am like you Little. I think the act of having sex is just outright disgusting and I can easily do without it. The truth is, almost every single man has those "man" needs and going into a relationship with a guy who wants a sexual relationship would definitely be unfair to him for either you or I if we are not going to budge on our views.

Can a couple have a healthy relationship without sex? I definitely believe so. I just think it would be a long hike through many, many men before you could find one with a similar take on sex. Men are just naturally horny creatures. If they sense there's no chance of "sticking it" with the girl they are with, they'll bail out. I hate to say that I have never met a guy who could abstain completely from sex and can't even be sure I ever will.

It would take the most perfect woman in every other way for a guy to cut ties with the idea of having sex with the woman, and even that isn't likely. We are in a corner Little. We really are. The pool of guys out there is probably a million to one. Maybe greater.

Yes. This is why I consider myself bi. Because I can easily live a sexless life. I'm such a germophobe that I really don't even want to give into my body's lustful desire. Whenever I show interest in men, it's all my body's desire to cuddle with someone, but also a tinge of that sexual attraction. My desire to cuddle with women is there too, so long as we are of equal or she is more dominant than I am. I love the feel of protection. Men typically give that. Dominant women can too.

Since I don't really want sex, it kind of makes it a "the world is my litter box" scenario Guys or girls. I can be happy with the right one of each. :)

The main reason was that I hated the work. It wasn't anything like I expected. We had to read case law and write non-stop, but almost never had debates or mock trials.

The other was that it would have cost me $80,000 more to finish the last two years. I would have been stuck doing work I hated to pay it off and would have had to deal with too much competition.

That is how I feel about PoliSci right now. Looking ahead at all the courses I need to take for the Bachelors, the course seems more like philosophy rather than politics and it's driving me nuts. If I could read well, that's one thing. I can write and type pages forever and not care, but reading just pisses me off unless I am interested in the topic.

I hope they allow her to do that as a former addict, I know some medical licensing and things are really strict when it comes to any past substance abuse because the nurses get access to all kinds of drugs.

I think glasses work with me. I hate dealing with contact lenses and buying more and more. It would be a different story if you could keep them in for like.... a year at a time, but not this "every day" shit.
