FWIW, i didn't see enough pokémon to judge the run but just because a run goes badly doesn't mean it's not enjoyable to watch.

for instance, a lot of people loved the blindfolded SotN run at last year's SGDQ, even though it turned into a trainwreck. i personally didn't like it but hey!

kinda sad that runs of less popular games often get overlooked, as evidenced by that list. aside from i am bread, that's just a list of popular games. (edit: well, and super panga world i guess, but that's still a romhack of a popular game.)

i thought castle of illusion starring mickey mouse was one of the better runs but nobody cares about that run because nobody cares about the game. that's too bad.

Christopher Cross was playing in the Netherlands about a week ago. Frank composed this song as a parody (sort of) of Cross' "Ride Like the Wind"!

A neat little detail is that You Are What You Is opening with the wind blowing sound effect harkens back to Apostrophe (') opening with a wind blowing sound effect. Don't think I ever pointed that out before when discussing this song.

Another fun fact: Frank actually played "Ride Like the Wind" live once in '81. Would be nice if that one got an official release!

that's not the case in the example i came up with, though - here the "run" is slower than a casual run. a casual run of little samson any% easy should take like 30-40 minutes.

like, little samson any% easy has a run that's 1 hour and 24 minutes long registered (and the runner describes the WR as being "10 minutes" at the time, so this isn't an early run that took place before all of the strats were discovered, either). calling that a "speedrun" is kinda insane >_>
