A Russian man has been arrested after digging up his late girlfriend's grave and setting the corpse on fire, claiming that his ex-lover's spirit was haunting him. After his 17-year-old girlfriend, Olga Gileva, died five years ago, Yuriy Golovin, 30, said that her spirit has been tormenting him and that she has been haunting his dreams,

"He want to a sorceress and was advised to get her body out of her grave and burn it," an unnamed source close to Golovin said.

Gileva was an orphan who committed suicide in 2012 after being sent back to a foster home.
Popular Video This young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.

"She was taken in by a foster family, but then they returned her to the orphanage and she could not cope with this," said one of her friends.


Oleg Ivanov, one of Gileva's friends, discovered the disturbed grave when he was visiting to pay her respects. He later saw pictures on social media of a man lying on her coffin, possibly even sleeping there. The poster described how Golovin asked to dig up the woman's grave so he could set her remains on fire.

"He told me that he was asked by this girl's boyfriend to dig the grave," the post read.

The fire caused significant damage to the woman's coffin, but did not fully destroy it. Police have arrested Golovin and another 23-year-old believed to be an accomplice. Both could face up to five years in prison.

The incident took place in Menschikovo village, which is 1,075 miles east of Moscow. Small, rural villages in Russia still heavily believe in the power of superstition and sorcery, according to The New York Times.

In 1997, two men from a small, remote village killed one woman and seriously injured another, believing that they were sorceresses who cast a spell on them.

Armed with hammers and knives, they beat the two women in their village homes. The woman they were initially after, Tanya Tarasova, survived but suffered several hammer blows to the head.

''We went there to kill the entire family,'' they proclaimed in a statement the following day. ''Because Tanya has used her black magic and sent ruination upon us.''

The police officer spearheading the investigation said that witchcraft is an essential part of Russian culture, even in its most civilized parts.

"You can go anywhere in Russia these days and witchcraft is a daily part of life," he said.

A farmer whose piglets were saved from a barn fire has served the animals up as sausages to thank the firefighters who rescued them. The baby pigs and two sows were freed by firefighters from Pewsey in Wiltshire when a barn went up in flames in February.

The farmer, Rachel Rivers, promised she would present the firefighters with organic sausages when the animals were slaughtered for their meat. Six months later she did just that and the firefighters cooked the bangers on a barbecue.

However, the farmer and firefighters have faced criticism from some who have found the arrangement a little queasy.

Rivers, who farms near Pewsey, accepted that some vegetarians and animal rights campaigners would not be happy. But she said: “This was just a token gesture to the fire service. They were over the moon with them.

“This is just what we do – we are not an animal sanctuary. We give the pigs the best opportunity and the best life they could have for six months. They won’t be kept inside; they are outdoors and fed with organic food which is grown on the farm.”

The piglets were just two weeks old when firefighters saved their bacon and they were turned into sausages after being fattened up. Rivers said: “At the time I told [the firefighters] I would give them the sausages.”

After the fire, the Pewsey watch manager Mark Hillier said: “When we arrived at the scene shortly before 10pm, half of the barn was on fire, with the pigs sheltering in the corner on the other side.

“The tough bit was getting towards it and then to free the pigs. Once they were clear, we took a defensive approach to keep the situation under control and then let the fire burn itself out.”

Some social media users expressed distaste at the farmer’s gesture. Farrell Monaco wrote: “What a dreadful story. Lovely that they saved the pigs but why publish their demise? Grim.”

Pearl-Lucia Sayer wrote: “Could she not just say thanks! What’s wrong with a box of Roses?”

Still, the Pewsey fire station posted a glowing review of the sausages, saying: “Exactly six months and one day since firefighters rescued 18 piglets from a fire, we got to sample the fruits of our labours from that February night.

“Huge thank you to Rachel Rivers for dropping them off for us to sample. Highly recommended by Pewsey fire station crew and if any one of our followers is having a bank holiday BBQ this weekend then check out these sausages, they are fantastic.”

The fire station later removed the story of the sausages from its Facebook page and apologised for any offence caused. It said: “In regard to a recent post on this page. We recognise that this has caused offence to some – we apologise for this and as such have removed the post.”

The animal rights organisation People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) said it would be sending the firefighters packs of Linda McCartney vegan sausages.

Mimi Bekhechi, Peta’s director of international programmes, said: “These poor piglets were no better off for escaping the fire, only to be put back into it six months later after being subjected to the horrifying experience of the abattoir.

“We’ll be sending Dorset and Wiltshire fire and rescue service packs of Linda McCartney vegan sausages so they can see how easy it is to truly be heroes for pigs – by sparing them all suffering.”

Jacob O’Connor is being credited as a hero after he used a scene from his favorite movie to save his 2-year-old brother Dylan.

Last month, Jacob and his brothers were spending the day at their grandmother’s house. Jacob was about to start watching TV when he noticed that the door was open – and Dylan was gone.

The youngster went outside and saw his brother floating facedown in the backyard pool.

Jacob immediately thought of a scene from the Hollywood action flick San Andreas where the Rock’s character uses chest compressions to save his daughter’s life.

The 10-year-old started mimicking the actor’s motions until Dylan started coughing up water.

Jacob then fetched his grandmother and they rushed Dylan to the hospital. Emergency personnel said that Jacob’s actions almost certainly saved his brother’s life. If he did not intervene as quickly as he did, paramedics may not have been able to help Dylan in time.

After spending just one day in care, the youngster was brought back home to where he can be sure that his superhero brother will always be helping to keep an eye on him in the future.

And if the story couldn’t get any better already, Jacob got a shout out from his hero on Twitter after the rescue.

“Wow amazing story,” wrote the Rock. “You’re a real life hero. We’re all proud of you!”

Police in Tokyo's Koto Ward have arrested a 79-year-old neighborhood association president, whose duty included supervising the safety of children going to and from school, on suspicion of committing a lewd act with a 13-year-old girl.

According to police, on Aug 11, Takashi Maeda allegedly approached the girl in a municipal housing complex located and promised her 10,000 yen if she engaged in a lewd act with him at his residence, Fuji TV reported.

Police said Maeda has denied the charge and quoted him as saying he gave the money to the girl as a birthday present.

Police said that Maeda is believed to have been familiar with the victim as he was the president of the neighborhood association. A neighbor said that other children had often visited Maeda at his home.

Japan said Friday it will impose fresh sanctions on North Korea by freezing the assets of Chinese and Namibian firms doing business with the nuclear-armed state.

The move against a half dozen organisations and a couple of individuals comes days after Washington expanded its own punitive measures against Chinese and Russian firms, as well as people linked to Pyongyang.

The US move drew an angry response from Beijing, North Korea's key ally, while Japanese media said Friday that Namibia has been tightening its links to the North in recent years.

"We will continue to make strong calls (for North Korea) to take actions toward denuclearisation," Yoshihide Suga, the Japanese government's top spokesman, told a regular press briefing.

"Now is the time to apply pressure," he added.

The sanctions are aimed at disrupting the flow of cash funding North Korean weapons programmes, which are in violation of United Nations resolutions.

Japan has previously frozen the assets of entities and individuals involved in natural resources and research work related to Pyongyang's nuclear and missile development programmes.

The US and its allies, particularly Japan and South Korea, have been on high alert in recent months as North Korea carried out successive missile tests.

Tensions have eased since North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un pulled back from a plan to send a salvo of missiles towards the US Pacific territory of Guam.

But Pyongyang Wednesday disclosed significant technological advances and ambitious plans to further improve its missile capabilities.

US President Donald Trump, like his predecessors, has called on China to play more active roles in convincing North Korea to stop threatening its neighbours and the US.

But China has so far been lukewarm on the idea, preferring to address the issue through long-stalled talks.

On Friday, China hit out the new Japanese sanctions.

"We firmly oppose any other unilateral sanction outside the framework of the UN Security Council, in particular those targeting Chinese entities and individuals," Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying told a regular press briefing in Beijing.

"We urge the Japanese side to stop this and if it insists on doing this wilfully, it must accept the consequences," she added, without elaborating.

China backed new United Nations sanctions against North Korea this month and has announced that it was upholding them by banning imports of iron, iron ore and seafood from its neighbour.

Beijing had already suspended imports of North Korean coal in February.

What happened is a Youtube creator called Matt Hoss released cringy comedy Parkour Pick Up videos under the name "the Bold Guy"



H3H3 did one of their trademark videos taking the piss out of it (for the record on their second, less popular channel) at this point Matt Hoss' video was not new and H3H3's video wasn't special in anyway. Wasn't all that popular and in fact H3H3 is actually pretty complimentary towards the end.



Matt Hoss complained, told them to take down the video, pay him $4,000 publically apologize for it and advertise his channel/content for 3 months.

H3H3 refused. Matt Hoss then had the video struck with a DMCA claim and sued them claiming they used his copyrighted video illegal, tarnished his own channel/earnings and only grew/became popular due to his video and so owed him a fortune.

The popular opinion (and one I and ultimately the judge agree with) is that this claim is fundamentally stupid and embarrasing as well as making no sense.

However the lawsuit went on. For a year and half claim and counter-claim went forward. H3H3 spent at least $150,000 in legal fees and have publically discribed the entire fiasco as a constant endless nightmare. Matt Hoss has never publically revealed how much he has spent on the lawsuit (but it also has to be in 6 figures by now) but has stated how unpleasant the case was.






The reason why this is big internet (or at least Youtube) news is two fold:

1. People really like H3H3 and the lawsuit was considered very stupid.

2. This is one literally one of the most direct cases of a lawsuit over copyright and fair use on Youtube. The judge almost literally standing by every argument H3H3's lawyers made and disregarding every argument Matt Hoss made is a fantastic precedent for future cases.

The judge even went so far as to make a distinction between the transformative videos people like H3H3 makes compared to the "react" videos where someone just watches a video and pulls silly faces.

It's strengthed Fair Use claims for anyone who tries to sue or take down Youtubers for using their content in legitimate criticism or educational videos. Which is a good thing.

Federal prosecutors say a Filipino woman has pleaded guilty in Kansas to stealing nearly $100,000 from a U.S. naval base in Japan.

The prosecutors announced Monday that Cynthia Lopez Creseni pleaded guilty Friday to theft of public money. She stole $99,068 from the Morale Welfare and Recreation Center at the Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan.

At the time of the thefts, Creseni was lead cashier of the game/slot room.

Prosecutors said Creseni was placed on administrative leave after reporting the funds missing when she returned from a U.S. vacation in February 2015.

She sold her home and returned to the Philippines. Agents learned she entered the U.S. in July 2015. She was arrested in January 2017 in Overland Park, Kansas, for overstaying her visa.

Sentencing is scheduled for Jan 4.

It was 101 of how not to handle a national hotpoint. he should have dispelled the Nazis instantly and called for Unity and after failing to do that, once he originally didn't address the issue he should have ignored it.

Now we have very confident, very feisty very emotional "sides" who hate each other and go out looking to make a statement.

You're kidding yourself if you don't think the gay rights rhetoric (especially the "born that way" nonsesnse) has crept into the pedophile acceptance movement. We have several users here who defend it all the time as an alternative sexual preference. Even before the disgusting Salon articles, more moderate left-wing publications like The Atlantic had articles like this one painting pedophiles who've looked at child porn as sympathetic victims:
