I mean lets be clear, every single B8er (unless we have a few from small island nations maybe) has had their countrys government do horrible things, including for most of those countries war crimes, during our lifetimes. You definitely shouldnt be automatically supporting it just because its (the government of) your country. I mean, we were all around for the Iraq War. And like the Iraq War in 20 years I suspect it will be hard to find somebody in Israel who supports what the IDF have done.

There is one aspect to the Iraq War that will age better than what's going on now. The US actually went after their stated human targets.

OK now that one really isn't true. Even before his "issues" RDJ arguably never had previously hit A-list, but he certainly wasn't then. Not an unknown by any means but if he were A-list then by definition Feige wouldn't have had to fight for him.

Bloodborne is a weird one for me because most of the good things about it are also bad.

The Rally system is one of the single most brilliant things they've ever done to the point that many games adopted their own take, but in practice 90% of the time it serves as bait to get you killed in boss fights if you try to take it seriously.

It upped the pace of these games and made people learn to dodge instead of shielding to the point I can barely stand to use a shield in their other games anymore, but they massively punish you for getting hit outside the iframes of a dodge that sometimes you're safer eating a hit.

They removed upgrade dependencies from healing items only to make them consumables that most people will run out of at some point when they're still learning.

Chalices are an "easy" way to give more content, but by not making the main progression ones actually procedural it kills any replay value. And most of the exclusive bosses are really not very good.

There's literally two ways, Depths and past all the drakes. The key just lets you skip other areas and get to the drakes earlier. DS1 has brilliant world design that does an excellent job of disguising how it's funneling you into certain areas. Dark Souls 2 pulls the same trick of having paths converge sometimes but others it opens up a different route with another endpoint.

Even if you toss out early sections and dead ends from DS1 as openness for whatever purity test you wanna use, DS2 is still doing the same thing in the opposite order. Like the exact same thing.

The path to Lost Sinner is similar to getting to Blighttown albeit a bit more obvious. The only other time you have a real choice is whether or not drop down a well a bit more.

Except the part where even without the Master Key there are multiple ways into Blighttown and you can beat the game without ever setting foot in Lower Undead Burg let alone Depths, something that a lot of people don't even realize.

Yeah I don't quite get how DS2 is particularly less linear than, really anything besides DS3, but DS1 especially. Its choke point comes later but then proceeds to not open up again, Memories withstanding.

Auron is certainly an extreme example but I'd say most FF characters from 7 onward look a lot older than they're supposed to be. Some other notable ones...

Cid H is 32
Squall and Irvine are 17
Quistis and Seifer are 18
Lightning and Snow are 21

Honestly, the FF8 crew looks way less aged then "high schoolers" in live action. Barret looks completely fine, younger than Cid does for sure. And Lightning is actually a model outside the game for... some reason. Snow and Cid are way worse than any of those.

Yeah, if anything Auron he shouldn't have aged at all from how we see him in flashbacks, which is him at 25 btw.

Its been used for a number of games but Metroid Prime was the famous instance that made it into a meme. Also TLoU doesnt do enough new for the medium to be a Citizen Kane equivalent.

And yet it couldn't even inspire good sequels.

I think it's Lae'zel > Halsin > Gale > Yenna in that priority order based on who is in your party at the time the kidnapping happens.

She also won't take a locked-in love interest to my understanding.

Minthara is also potential choice, but I believe it's lower priority than everyone but Yenna.
