I grew out in the mountains. Town of like 50 people. The issue we had wasn't huge amounts of outdoors it was lack of services of much any other kind. Being just dumped outside isn't something be all end all let ke tell you.

Despite having watched Nickelodeon in the 90s I haven't heard of a bunch of these. You sure these were Nick shows? Also where are the ACTUAL GOAT candidates?

I remember Caitlin's Way being decent, though it's been 20+ years since I've last seen it.

Most of these shows are from the early 90s or 80s.

There are whole sound and music libraries that are either free or nearly free to use that lots of media employ.

Its always been this. An actual unique and timeless classic and far from trend chasing or condescension.

Ehh, not really. We don't really have much information at all about Smeagol pre-ring, other than a loose connection to Riverfolk hobbits. The most we can really say is that he was greedy enough for the ring to latch onto him pretty quick.

Smeagol isn't really meant to be seen as "intrinsically bad." Again, he's a victim of the ring. He's supposed to directly parallel Frodo/Bilbo, showing what they would be if they gave into their worst impulses instead of their best.

I thought there were some bits about him sneaking around, being fascinated with secrets, and trying to suss them out. Like some sort of innuendo he liked to find out the secrets of others. Maybe that happened after he got the ring or am I imagining it all? I could be.

Gollum also does lots of pretty nasty things not shown in the film.

Personally I dont think he does. He never really changes. Did he deserve what happened to him, probably not. But he is never anything but corrupted. He never learns any real lessons or grows or changes.

Maybe someone remembers better than me, but even his Smeagol side pre ring isn't characterized as a particularly good person. He seemed to be into subterfuge and sneaking about all along. The ring only brought out and amplified those tendencies more.

My yard growing up had an ancient and dying American chestnut tree and a pecan tree in it. The pecan tree was giant but didn't fruit often. We were too far north and it was too cold. The chestnut tree put out nuts. They tasted really good but were a chore to open.

Our poor blight infested chestnut died finally during a huge snow storm. The main trunk split in half under the weight.

I won an award from the girl cabins at camp for Best Hair. They handed out awards like these every year at camp.

The issue as I see it is whether or not the tool is sanctioned and widely available to the students in the course. If the use of the tool is unsanctioned, and against the course policies, it provides an advantage to those using it versus those that did not. This is entirely different than the alternative where its use is permitted and students can freely choose to use it as they fit.

tl;dr

It is straight up cheating in the former case. This is a significant offense within academia and harms not just the cheater but those that did not. Depending on the severity, punishment is warranted from a zero to expulsion or degree revocation.

I'm not here to debate the merits of the AI use in college, but it is certainly cheating if its usage was not permitted.
