Around my way its actually slightly worse with the amount of restaurants available. I don't order a lot of delivery, but when I do I used grubhub because it came bundled with amazon prime. (Which I also have been paying a discount for for going on 3 years now).

Most of the restaurants in my area signed up for doordash in comparison.

I was going to play some more FF7 rebirth, but my PS5 decided nah and its time to wipe all your data again.

Even though I bought a UPS and had my PS5 hooked up to one it appears that a power outage happened overnight as I was asleep. Power outage must have been a lengthier one and lasted longer than my UPS' battery can hold out, and that means the PS5 got shut off unexpectedly=it's finicky system software fucking up.

I already tried restarting safe mode and going through the other options like clearing the cache, rebuilding the database and so on first, but nah its borked. This is the 3rd time I had to completely reset my PS5 like this, =/

*I do have my PS5 saves backed up to the cloud so I will at least be able to redownload all these. My pictures and videos that was still in the PS5 is going bye-bye*

Mad-Dogg

I was one of those people that either only used hand-me-downs for years or strictly stuck to whatever I could grab for about 300 dollars for a long time. Last budget TV I bought was a "HDR capable" 40 inch (of course that thing had nowhere near the specifications to actually make HDR noticeable, but I was still new to learning about what HDR was and thats how marketing will get ya' in general. When it comes to LED TVs, at the baseline for actual noticeable HDR it has to be a TV with FALD lighting (local dimming) and not edge-lit. Preferably a VA type panel, and you have to make sure it can actually support a wide color gamut and all that. Going to RTings.com is the best way to look up a specific TV model to make sure it isn't one of those "technically supports HDR but its terrible" TVs). I came into a good amount of pocket money a few years back and finally decided to take a peak at higher budget TVs.

My first higher budget TV purchase was a 55 inch samsung Q8FN back in 2018 like 3 days after red dead redemption 2 first released on PS4. My second was about 6 months or so later and I managed to get this couple's 65 inch samsung Q9FN via facebook marketplace for 1,000 dollars even, and so I sold that Q8FN to my bro. I used this all the way up until september of last year since I wanted to get a TV that had 4 HDMI 2.1 slots and fully supported VRR....got the last 65 inch samsung miniled QN90B from my local best buy for a little over 1,399.99.

The QN90B is a absolutely gorgeous TV....extremely deep blacks comparable to that of a OLED TV's, minimum amount of blooming in game mode, very high peak nit capabilities that makes video game HDR highlights really pop, no auto-brightness limiting issues what with it's nature as a LED TV, very good scaling capabilities (not quite as good as sony's with their higher budget TVs, but still nice), and excels with video gaming with actual 1440p support when needed (whenever a 30fps console game pops up I get use out of the game motion plus function samsung TVs have. Interpolation meant to be used in game mode, and it adds a minimum amount of input delay. I still disable it for most games, but it imo helps a lot with those old console games capped at lower framerates) *Native 1440p support is something sony has been skipping out on for some years now with their higher budget TVs, so if one wanted native 1440p then it'd be better to go with a samsung or LG TV (or TCL, vizio, hisense etc.) for this. Most important of all its going to have nice longevity since I don't intend to make these kind of 1,000 dollar+ TV purchases a super common thing.....my goal is to actually use this slappin' miniled TV until microled displays become a affordable thing for anyone in the future.

Long story short, thanks to checking out that Q8FN back in 2018 I am a believer in getting what you pay for when it comes to TVs (or monitors. Displays in general) and that they make just as much a difference as getting a new console or upgrading a PC's cpu/gpu.

I personally don't need anything above 65 inches so I won't pay anything about 2K, but anything in the 1,200 to 1,600ish range I'm fine with since the better miniled and OLED TVs will be in that price range.

Remember One Punch Man? Anime was super popular and yet S3 has been 5 years late lol
To be fair when it comes to murata drawn one punch man's manga which the anime goes off of it can have a inconsistent release schedule. On top of that if ONE or murata decide they want to retcon something (like those mercenary power suit people originally dying via sweet mask) they will have chapters or entire fights redrawn/remade. (I think that Phoenix man dudes fight was remade like 3 times or something, lol) then that will take up even more time the anime production would have to wait for.

Hell even the most recent murata one punch man manga fight (flashy and sonic vs ninja village) was just redone, =/ lol

Red dead redemption 2.

I have always been the type of person that preferred great gameplay in my video games compared to everything else, and so even if a game has a terrible story (for me this is the bayonetta series in a nutshell, and the vast majority of tales of games just has a standard meh/sorta' boring main plot) the gameplay alone can easily carry a video game.

Red dead redemption 2 is one of those extremely rare video game examples where the main story and the characters was so good I completely overlooked/didn't even care about that rockstar clunky'ish gameplay.

Usually if a persona enemy does not have any kind of elemental weakness or status effect weaknesses its time to start wrecking them with critical hits for downs. If you have a persona with crit rate boost and one of those rebellion cards around then that'd be good. Keep those attack debuffs on the convict (with defense buffs on the party) going the most, but also defense debuff him and attack boost your group.

Aigis casts her dekunda to get rid of nasty stat debuffs, casts party wide defense boosts with the leader since a few personas should be having this by now and you should be good to go.

Don't be afraid to toss out a poison (or charm the boss' minions) here or there. Most of the time you get those blocked, but when it does actually hits it hits something good, lol.

Wait, are people seriously saying that FF7 Rebirth has too much content in it? I thought the complaint was that it's "only 1/3 of a game" and shouldn't be full price

Choose a lane, you serial whiners
Well this is also two separate complaints annoyingly enough. There is those that are upset that this wasn't a more 1:1 thing where the original game is covered in one new touch-up style remake. Square-enix did at least let everyone know right from the very beginning that this whole thing is going to be a way more ambitious project compared to a more simple super mario rpg, live a live or star ocean 2 r kind of thing. Imo there is no use constantly complaining about this because like I said this was made clear right from the very beginning way before the first part even came out. Its totally fine if one does not care for the twists square-enix took with this final fantasy 7 project. There does come a time though that after 4 years since the first part's release that if it isn't for someone they have to move the hell on. I hated saints row's 4's dumb-ass story......know what I did? I moved on, lol.

The part that I am bringing up that annoys me (and it shows via that topic I linked) that yeah, rebirth is jam packed full of things to do (I mean the soundtrack alone is absolutely massive since it has many of the tracks that was in the first remake, which was 7 discs worth, and has a ton more of its own) and some people actually complain that its too much. Content that one can easily ignore and fly right past if one truly wants to do that.

Its so dumb in everyway to complain that this 70 dollar game or any game for that matter has too much to do in it (assuming this content is optional, which in rebirth's case it is).

But yeah as a long time final fantasy fan I hate this fanbase so goddamn much, lmao.

too much content.. you lost me there
Its true. One of the main imo stupid complaints when it comes to rebirth is that its indeed too much content. Bawwwww why is this open world so big, too many *compares to ubisoft checkpoints*, too many mini-games, the game is too long. People straight up complaining that its too much game...

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/264562-playstation-5/80758197

....and its wild to me because the game is fun as hell to play, and as I said before there is nothing whatsoever stopping someone from just bum-rushing the main story missions and skipping all the optional stuff. I mean who legit hated the mission where you are escorting that dog salmon and barret starts hilariously worrying about marlene growing up and leaving the nest. With one of the most awesome battle osts square-enix made....for some random dog escort quest, lol.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4TjmnoOKfg

Its just one of the many, many examples when it comes to video games that you just can't make every single person happy. (Even more so because it isn't like it was all that long ago where some final fantasies like 10 and especially 13 caught heat for being "corridors" from another part of the annoying as hell final fantasy fanbase). Me on the other hand, man this game's value is nuts and is one of the very few games aside from stuff like persona 5/royal and nioh 2 where I totally think it was worth going all-in for it day 1.

Too much content and mini games. (With FF7 rebirth being the most recent target).

I am a long time tales of fan that actually misses the time period when tales of games had a good bit of random ass mini games to change things up.

Rebirth's content is sometimes compared to a ubisoft game's open world and I don't get it. Climbing this one tower to chart out the local area, clicking on this lifestream thing for like 8 seconds total and doing this button press for this region's summon materia (with nice music in these places to boot) ain't nowhere near a big enough deal to complain about compared to something like a far cry game's go to this base and fight a few waves of the same enemies you encounter throughout the entire game style map things.

No, despite what some say it is not "required" to do all that and that is just that fear of missing out malarkey talking. If skipped out on things you may miss out on getting a certain materia earlier (like the time materia from one of those costal del sol minigames, forgot which one off the top of my head) or be a little off on party exp for those skills on that board, but it ain't all that big a deal if the goal is to just comfortably play through the game to see the story.

X men 97 is so much more mature in the way it narrates the story. While the OG was dark at time for a kid show, we can see the passion the writers had for 97. Did anybody else do the same? What was your impressions.
Yeah. This is usually how it is when we get newer action cartoons made these days that debuts on streaming services compared to the past when they had to deal with network censors on cable TV (I still give credit for those who made it work like with batman the animated series, but others like spider-man and x-men was held back a bit. Like you said jubilee couldn't really do much in those days).

My only issue with the PS2 was when I had a ton of trouble getting Star Ocean 3 working. Bought the game brand new and it would freeze at the same spot every time. So I took it to gamestop to show them and they gave me a used PS2 to see if it would work better than my PS2. Froze at the same place every time. After trying a few different PS2's and multiple copies of the game with the same results, they upgraded me to a PS2 Slim at no extra charge. No problems after that.

The 360 though, was a nightmare. Got the RRoD more than once and it would take weeks for Microsoft to send the console back after repairs.
Ah yeah you had one of those PS2's who's laser had trouble reading the dual-layered DVDs. Conveniently enough, all those old PS2's they had also had trouble reading them, lol.

I don't think there was too many of those types of games, but star ocean 3 is one of them. (Well at least the director's cut version/the version of the game we had localized in NA and UK).

Ultimate is basically just super smash 4, just like mario kart 8 deluxe being a enhanced version of base mario kart 8.

I never actually had my own PS2 (I used to just mooch my brother's lol), but he did eventually get that one repaired at some point because of the disc read error issue.

Website stock isn't always accurate to the actual stock -- in fact, it's often wrong due to things like theft, returns, or if the online inventory doesn't update automatically every time a sale is made during the day.

Calling the store to ask if they have a game isn't "annoying the shit out of the employees", that's their job. They can also accurately tell you if a game is in stock by verifying it on the shelf, and in some cases they can hold it for you at the counter so you don't have to worry about somebody else showing up before you and snatching the last copy.
Bro I'll be lucky if the phone is even on it's hook, lol. They seriously just leave phones off the hook since its most of the time one single person working and most likely has a lot to deal with (its one of those not personal things but since higher ups have them busting their asses like that they do what they have to do to handle all the in-store people first). I personally never experienced them having a game if the website said its isn't in stock, but I don't doubt it since returns could have happened and nothing was updated yet

Ive never had a late game order through my local GameStop, but I like physically being in the store. Im friendly with their staff.
Same. I've actually known one of the local store managers who bounces back and forth between the 2 main stores over here for going on 12 years or so at this point and he usually looks out during those times I forget to pick up some pre-order item, he wants to give me one of those promotional posters/pictures lying around, or getting me a pre-order code if I missed out on that. (When I picked up FF7 remake on PS4 version's release that chocobo chick code didn't go through. I think the reason is because those of us that pre-ordered this was picking it up a day early (it was during the covid pandemic and so the gamestop in my area managed to have curb-side pick-up going) Because the game wasn't technically out yet the chocobo chick wasn't showing up on our reciepts. My guy just texted me the code the next day which was cool of him).

When I went to pick up stellar blade (I don't order too many physicals these days. Last physical I picked up was the deluxe edition of rebirth. I do have that day one steelbook for shin megami tensei 5 pre-ordered) another one of the guys was just asking me what the hell I been up to and he didn't see me in awhile since the last time I was in-store was like.........way before rebirth's release anyway.

Or just fucking call the store before you go there and ask is it's in stock.
Why the fuck would I annoy the shit out of the employees when both they know and I know there is no stock and a small release like whatever I am looking for had no chance to last long with all the other fellow nerds in my area? A small print release game long gone isn't going to magically appear in a shelf. You can check if something is in stock on the website already genius.

Tyranthraxus posted...
Or just have it shipped directly to you and waste no time at all.
Amazon takes like a week or more to get new games out (if you knew what you are talking about then you would know just how long dudes who pre-ordered mega man battle network collection had to actually wait to get their copy), and best buy in-person has cleared out a lot of their video game space and online shipping wise also takes awhile compared to just getting my ass to the store in-person. Believe it or not, some of us still like to go to stores.....in-person. This leads back to the "clearing out video game space part" Wal-mart and target down my way are only really stocking the usual AAA or constant selling stuff, a.k.a. super mario 64 for the DS.....still.

You know whats convenient though? Like, reaaaally convenient? Swinging by the local gamestop (main reason I opt for this gamestop because its roughly 5 minutes away from my house and in the same strip mall as the wal-mart I normally go to for groceries), going "hey man wassup? Can I put 5 down on stellar blade real quick? No crippling social anxiety to slow this transaction down thats for sure.

He asks "want to put insurance on it"?. I say "nah I'm good". Boom. Done. Not even longer than 3 minutes.

When release day comes the store opens at 12 pm most days, 10 am fridays and saturdays....either way, its during a time when I am doing grocery shopping. Swing by when I am done picking up stuff in local food lion or wal-mart, pick up physical game that I wanted since I pre-ordered and don't have to drive around town on a damn where's waldo hunt for loose one piece pirate warriors 4 copy since I was smart enough to put 5 on it and ensure my copy, and I go home. All done in no longer than what, 15ish minutes total?

USPS, fedex and UPS usually doing their rounds sometimes after 2:00 pm but most at or around 3 pm in my area, and if you are lucky that game will be on release....with gamestop's online shipping it's not (and you have a mandatory 6.99 shipping charge on orders under a 100 dollar something total) and will always be 1 day late, amazon is irrelevant for new games since they always without fail take days to release prime be damned, and best buy is too hit or miss.

You shouldn't be impacted by this because you shouldn't be preordering in the first place.
And waste my gas and my time hunting for that whopping all of 2 copies my county in south carolina probably got for niche physicals I am actually interested in like star ocean 2 r or even more "well known" stuff like super mario rpg would be lucky to get like 6 total to go around? Fuck all that.

I never did get this anti-pre-order mentality that some on the internet try to push for all video games. Look, I get it....pre-ordering games from the usual suspects like EA, bethesda, ubisoft, activision-blizzard, cd project red etc. is usually always a gamble. This kind of thing is normally not a thing you worry about with nintendo, and more niche games are almost always smaller in scope to not suffer with being busted on release. (Only one I can think of that was legit trash was river city girls 2).

Unfortunately we can't all be so lucky to be living in some urban environment with a variety of stores to chose from that may have a generous amount of stock to go around. I don't pre-order that tales of *insert title here* if I was interested in the disc then I won't be getting that disc loose.

Idk maybe Im just tainted by the memory of one of my friends whos got a bit of an inferiority complex who refused to play any other Smash besides Brawl because that was the only one he was best at.

Plus I feel like I remember people unwarrantedly bitching and moaning about Smash 4
I think when it comes to smash 4 most of it's heat came from the competitive side. At the end of it's life bayonetta ruled the competitive scene with a iron fist. For us casuals though smash 4 was pure fun, it's new art style is nice, and it was packed full of good stages and music.

As stronk as bayonetta ended up being in smash 4 I still think every single person would agree that its still better than the trip meta knight fest brawl ended up being. It does suck that snake could not make it back in smash 4, but at least they fixed that for ultimate.

Like, 2001 or 2002.

WWF no mercy, gauntlet legends, perfect dark and conker's bad fur day are the last 4 games that my household has legit played the breaks off when it comes to local multiplayer.

Once more 4 player dreamcast games came out, and especially when I got my first og xbox in about, 2003 the N64 never saw the light of day again. I don't even know if it actually still works because I legit did not cut that thing on once dreamcast+xbox+gamecube got more games lol.

IMO out of every nintendo console that ever released, N64 definitely aged the worst for me. Like the low fps alongside the generous amounts of fog just isn't something I don't have a single bit of nostalgia for. I can play the hell out of some NES, SNES, gamecube and Wii games that did not prioritize the wii mote too much, but when it comes to the N64 2D stuff like mischief makers, or certain 3D games like some mystical ninja starring geomon, conker's bad fur day, and star fox 64 is all I really got.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the worst post-N64 Smash game.
I don't understand how this one is a unpopular opinion lol......damn near everyone hated the fuck out of tripping, and meta knight was so busted that even in pick up with your friends non serious play his moveset was OP.

It sold a lot for sure and I definitely still played a lot of the game with my brother and 2 nephews, but smash wii u coming out made brawl a game that was never actually cut on again for every single person I know.
