I don't think any video game I played with a multiplayer option has quite surpassed the sheer hours I spent playing phantasy star online episode 1 and 2 on the gamecube yet. (My main hunewearl's playtime hours was something nuts like 3,800ish. I also had 7 more characters....3 more on my main gamecube memory card and 4 more on the second. My second most played a fonewearl had like 280 hours I think, the next 1 down a ramarl had like 170 or something, and the rest of them had at least 60 hours on them. I cannot stress enough how much I put that poor gamecube through the ringer playing this game).

Monster hunter world is probably my second most played game ever.

Yea.

Something similar is why it took so long for the yakuza spin-off game judgment to show up on steam.....it was something about not wanting PC players to use mods to edit out the main character or something like that. Must have been for a certain time frame since the game finally did eventually get released on steam.

Yep.....we indeed have toonami still on the air somehow and a small handful of people on this website that still actually sits down and watch the few stuff that is airing to talk about it, lol. Most of it is stuff that already premiered on a stream somewhere, but this adventures with superman season 2 show is something that actually is premiering on toonami first before it streams on max.

This. I prefer these wacky teens (and with some adults in persona 2) dealing with their trauma trains and using their demon stands to save the day or whatever compared to the pick a faction thing and the few friends you have is probably almost surely will die if you side with the faction they don't like thing that normally goes on in the SMT games.

Thundercasts 2011 was way better than the original show.

Phantasy star online episode 1 and 2 is my favorite video game of all-time, and so yeah.....the phantasy star online spin-off series (phantasy star online, version 2, episode 1 and 2, blue burst, PSO zero on the DS, phantasy star universe, phantasy star portable 1/2/infinity, and.......*groan*.....phantasy star online 2/new genesis) in general is better than the original phantasy star games to me.

Also........*makes sure to look all around me*..........FF7 remake and rebirth is better than original final fantasy 7 in every single way.

*Runs like my life depends on it from the playstation 1 squaresoft nostalgia mob*

The changes for Annette, Maria, and Richter also felt unnecessary and the show overall is a chore to watch.
Lets be real, it isn't like they or castlevania in general in the old 8 and 16 bit days had a vast amount of characterization or plot to work with, so it comes off as changes......what actual changes?.....there is seriously nothing really there to begin with, lol

Richter is latest bandanna wearing hero guy belmont that needs to save the womenfolk and whip dracula again except anime style this time. Annette was just a purple haired anime girl that richter needs to save from a stupid sexy anime dracula and maria a light-hearted definitely feels sailor moon inspired magical girl inserted into rondo of blood because the crew who made the game was probably just having fun, lol.

I guess the alternative could be a serious business action show where richter mows down all forces until showdown with dracula, blood spit n' ass everywhere. Barely any dialogue, just all fancy animation and probably goofy cgi tossed in. Something like ninja kamui. After having watched ninja kamui, I'm personally turned off on these kind of shows myself but thats the alternative for these older castlevania games when it comes to story.

Strangely I starred Barret's Song before On Our Way
I had already starred the first 2 songs already, but by the time I first started barret's I learned that increasing the note speed by 1 or 2 ticks and/or using the PS5's built-in accessibility zoom in function (to zoom in the 2 cord circles that they are the only thing you see on your TV/monitor screen) makes playing piano like, way easier. Especially the increasing the note speed thing.

Apparently for most of us when we miss notes its not because we are slow, we are actually going too fast for the lowest speed and causing a lot of misses we would have got otherwise. I bumped up the speed and messed around with the PS5 zoom thing and I got barret's theme starred with just 3 attempts.

Tales of xillia 2's.

Tales of xillia does that thing where your party is going to be equipped with the weapons and skills you gave them, so fighting your own party could be easy if you knew this beforehand or you will be dealing with fights harder than anything else otherwise.

Ludger is strong as hell but you are still going to have to go through 8 party members, 2 of them being final bosses in the last game.

Elize for example wouldn't even be able to be comboed if you gave her that auto pow hammer skill, lol.

I've been playing since SNES, and I agree.

I thought 16 was fine, but 7R's combat should be the standard going forward. I'd rather do that than just tap X until the battle's done like in the older games.
FF7 remake's airbuster boss battle is the main one that made me a believer of the action/ATB bar idea, but maaaaan that chapter 17 boss fight against the arsenal when you are playing as barret and aerith really made me love the system as one of jrpg's best ever. I thought it was mad cool running around the battlefield using the pillars as cover and then making use of both aerith and barret's abilities (aerith using her shield as extra character and barret making use out of his taunts/steelskin move etc.) to make the fight go as smooth as possible. Hard mode really makes you get the most use out of your party's moves and materia set-ups and so I had a lot of fun coming up with materia loadouts and swapping them up when the need comes up.

FF7 rebirth then approves on part 1's in everyway with the synergy skills and synergy abilities+improving air combat a bit by letting you use character abilities in the air.

I mainly appreciate how there is a nice amount of challenge throughout the game and how a lot of those fights can catch you with your pants down. Not trying to brag but to be honest I never thought the final fantasy series was that difficult at all, with classic FF7 being among the easiest with just mashing X being a legit thing you can do to clear the game. Almost all the difficulty for each mainline final fantasy came from doing optional content and superbosses. FF7 remake comes along and "oh snap, did I just get wiped by these frog dudes in the sewers? lol".

But yeah, ironically enough the battle system being action based while still making ATB bars the main focus of the system is by far the most "strategy" I ever had to use in any single mainline final fantasy game, with final fantasy tactics being the other one that comes close.

I also thought FF16's was fine for what it was, but they definitely knocked it out of the park with the remake+rebirth attempt imo.

Final fantasy 7 remake and rebirth's action ATB battle system is the best gameplay system the final fantasy series has ever came up with by far.

.....and yes, I've been playing the games since the first 1 on the NES and 4, mystic quest and 6 on the SNES.

(Only reason I pointed out that last part is because some "older" final fantasy fans absolutely refuse to accept that a fan of the series who are in their late 30s/early 40s and thus been around since the "golden age" (basically when the games was the most nostalgic for this group) can like and/or prefer some of the newer gameplay systems square-enix been coming up with, and that if someone does they must be some young gamer that just started playing the most recent games).

Actually I will go as far as to say the final fantasy series itself can be pretty overrated and that too many older fans just don't know when to let something go if they feel the games are not being made for them no more. Like every final fantasy related topic made where the TC is all like "yeah this new thing I don't like. Something something sales" is filled with 100s of posts of people complaining/arguing about the same thing and for whatever reason it just does not get old.

I still think this game would have had a better reception had they swapped deacon and sarah's roles. Have sarah as the player character biker lady that assumed her government researcher husband deacon died at the start of the outbreak only to find out he might possibly still be alive.

Have the stories' beats play out the same but just that one switch up. Boozer could also be swapped for a female biker friend or just left as is since his role wasn't exactly all the huge to begin with.

Just a simple swap like that would have helped day's gone stand out a little more (because lets be real.....we really don't have a ton of games where you play as a biker lady) from what last of us 1 was already doing with it's main character.

Playing it as a standard game it was actually pretty boring to me outside of the first like, hour of the game. Like it just did not feel like a resident evil game at all for me, what with the lack of weapons (I like the conserving ammo part from all the earlier RE games, but I also liked finding more weapons throughout any RE game.....RE7 didn't have a lot of weapons like that and the enemy variety being mad small/fighting mold for the vast majority of the game. I also did not care for the first-person nor the self-insert angle they tried to go with for RE7 ethan.

Now playing it in VR? Yeah, it was chock full of jumpscares but a good bit of them actually got me, lol. The VR experience is the only real memorable thing I got out of RE7.

I still don't care for first-person resident evil like that, but I liked ethan more in village in comparison to RE7.

I didn't like Nioh 1 at all. Is the second really that much improved?
Imo I thought so.

William is imo a pretty bland character that rarely if ever talked, so being able to make our own create a character in part 2 despite them being silent was a huge improvement. (And yeah, I can't deny it....made me a well-endowed lady samurai and regret nothing).

Main character aside, I actually like the demon shifting thing in nioh 2 more than the living weapon meter thing in nioh 1. (Living weapon is way more busted, but I like the demon shifting counter mechanic and being able to use monster summons in nioh 2).

There is more moves for all the of weapons+spells and ninjutsu that was in nioh 1+all of the new weapons added to nioh 2.

The greatest improvement in nioh 2 is that the enemy variety is so much better. One of my main complaints about nioh 1 was that you fought the same enemies over and over. Nioh 2 has all of nioh 1's enemies+the enemies introduced in nioh 1's dlcs alongside all of the new ones nioh 2 added. My second main complaint about nioh 1 was that the level environments was pretty boring since it was mostly just mountains and caves.....nioh 2 does a much better job changing it up with the level designs. (2 of my favorite levels in nioh 2 being this golden castle and this level where you drain the water and oh snap everything is upside down).

Ninja tools? What's that? I prefer to do melee in most games, with the exception of bows. Bows are my second favorite weapon type.

I already entered the first level so I can't check. If I complete this level am I able to go back? Typically in games I check every single corner in every level looking for hidden items so as to not miss out on anything.
Its the ninjutsu skill tree things. Like powering up how strong your bomb items are, your shurikens, etc. etc.

With nioh you could make all those items really strong, but I was saying that if you don't want to then you don't actually have to bother investing super heavy into actually using the vast majority of the ninjutsu items and getting the passive skills for them.

I did the same thing where I just mainly used bows, guns, and the cannon and did not bother with too much else when it comes to the ninja items. I just the passives like increasing my elixer amount, that quick-death scroll I was talking about in my last post, increasing my dash speed, etc. I just stuck to the quality of life passives when it comes to my ninjutsu skill points compared to things like making something like the caltrop bombs really strong.

Over my time lurking and reading random posts throughout some anime and video game communities that has a cross-over/strong relation with anime communities over the years, its because naruto is sometimes thought to be a white guy with his blonde hair and blue eyes. Now why exactly naruto would be=to a conservative considering his character I have no fucking clue, lmfao.

I'm just wondering why super saiyan goku and vegeta wasn't chucked in there also since they also are sometimes assumed to be white from the same type of people that would say naruto is white (in ssj form only) despite also clearly being fantasy asian+space monkey race guys from the japanese' perspective.

You don't have to get super invested into using the magic and ninja tools stuff if you don't want to, but even if you go for a more melee oriented character learn to love that sloth talisman. It was way more busted in nioh 1, but its still pretty good in nioh 2 in my opinion. What it does is slow enemies down...how fast they move, how fast they attack, everything. It will really come in handy when you fight the second and third bosses of nioh 2.

I think at worst when it comes to the new unknown games shown in these kind of things, for me anyway, is that I end up really liking one of said games shown that a lot of the gaming world already decided to crap on since gaming forum/social media communities would just be parroting reviews with more middle of the road type reviews and thus dogging some of these games out despite not having tried the target game theirselves.

*Rise of the ronin being the perfect example.* Kind of crapped on a bit because game reviewers complained about the game's graphics not being on par with big budget AAA games and they didn't get the combat system (gamers in general are usually hypocritical when it comes to taking reviewer's word as gospel. One moment they are never meant to be taken seriously because this dude could not get past the cuphead tutorial and thus they are not real gamers that aren't worth the time of day to glance at anything they post, and the next moment said reviewer's words are absolute law. Meh, lol). Also dropped on the same day as dragon's dogma 2 so comparisons to that was plenty. Those of us that actually tried the game ended up loving it.*

*Another interesting thing about rise of the ronin is that it did end up being a success for tecmo-koei*

I am already getting that feeling that ballad of antara and where winds meet is going to be the rise of the ronins of this direct for me, lol.

Yeah I don't agree with this state of play apparently being a disappointed like at all. (I guess it would be for those constantly crying about bloodborne though). Admittedly I don't give a damn about the pvp stuff, but that ballad of antara, where winds meet, silent hill 2, monster hunter wilds, and path of exile 2 I'm definitely copping day 1. Cautiously optimistic about the new dynasty warriors assuming they ditched that open world experiment from DW9.

Maybe will try that marvel overwatch for the hell of it, but this state of play still showed way more games that I am actually interested in compared to my switch gathering dust and my xbox desperately needing any kind of news about gears of war 6 or state of decay 3.

Cause its $$$$ if its a hit
And we all know damn well right from the start its not going to be, lol.

The young kids and the older casual gamers that only plays the same 1 or 2 pvp games with their bros is already too invested in whatever battle pass slop they are already playing.

That game going to just sit right alongside stuff like the finals, naraka bladepoint, and every other not as popular as the big few free to play but jam packed with battle pass games.

Also I hope tecmo-koei gave up on the open world dynasty warriors idea because I am def interested in playing a new one that follows up on 8 instead.

Right, lol.

That one robin hood game did this exact same thing to me. Trailers making it out to be this interesting looking single player game where you swap between the crew pulling off elaborate heishts, then they drop the duurrrrrrr its a hero pvp shooter/pvpve game! shit on you.

And expectedly the game never stood a chance and was dead on arrival.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

Around my way its actually slightly worse with the amount of restaurants available. I don't order a lot of delivery, but when I do I used grubhub because it came bundled with amazon prime. (Which I also have been paying a discount for for going on 3 years now).

Most of the restaurants in my area signed up for doordash in comparison.
