Just seems a bit obsessive to watch the guy like a hawk and point out when he's doing a thing.

Usually, from what I understand, ignoring the problem makes it go away. So making a topic about this feels counterintuitive.

This. Like, I'm not gonna minimalize what he did, it was bad.

But in this case, it appears like he's doing something good for an established charity, so... Fair ball? Just ignore the guy, unless he does something else illegal. If he's using his name to benefit an established charity... It doesn't make up for what he did, but... Isn't it still a good thing?

This. He was the most well rounded, next to Ginyu. Guldo was super weak with a broken ability. Recoome had strength but nothing else. Burter had speed and sorta strength but relied on the speed too much. Jeice was well rounded.

The power order appeared to be Ginyu > Jeice > Burter > Recoome > Guldo

The main issue with Kanto was that it never makes it clear how traversable it actually was. For example, the apparent true? gym leader order is Koga before Sabrina, but I believe it was found a vast majority of players fought Sabrina first, because since you're already in that area it makes sense to do everything there, vs. traveling down and then coming back up.

I've literally never seen this game advertised, and most people won't play a game they've never heard of.

I'm surprised Apple has been able to successfully pull this off in Australia. We can't get Steam Decks here because Gaben refuses to do business in Australia because he keeps getting sued. Sony have been sued. MS have been sued. But Apple? No no no no no. All must bow to Apple.

I assume Apple is abusing the lack of law/regulation in Australia, whereas here, even though they've also run rampant a little bit, they've had to fall in line a little bit and are... Actually the "good guy" in a few scenarios.

At the end of the day, they're obviously not the good guy. It's just interesting to see how things differ between countries. I'm actually kinda thankful for how Apple handles refunds here, because I know it'd be a pain and a half to get refunds if I had to do so through the individual companies, whereas with Apple, I just go to my purchase list, click refund, and they refund within like, 24 hours.

It certainly doesn't make him innocent, but I do believe a lack of knowledge of the law could have believably lead him to do such a thing in the first place. It's not an argument that he shouldn't face punishment, it's an argument that... Yeah, it's possible he really did just pay the debt and do it in a way he didn't know was illegal.

I don't think anybody is saying he did nothing wrong. The debate appears to be moreso... Did he just pay the interpreter's debt, or was he the one actually gambling? Him being ignorant of the law makes the former credible.

I work for a company that has an app. We sell the app directly to people via our website and also through Apple/Google. Apple have made us take down any and all links and messaging that even insinuate there's a subscription you can directly pay us for. We can no longer sell gift vouchers or tell people to sign up through our website through the entire world. Apple don't give vendors access to their systems. If you accidentally made a purchase, you're shit out of luck, call Apple so they can deny you the refund. Even massive, massive companies like Disney don't have access.

Google, on the other hand, allows us to do all of this. I can cancel the Google subscriptions of anyone on GameFAQs because Google give us unrestricted access to the Play console. I can refund. I can cancel. I can do anything you want.

Unless you're Apple. Because Apple says fuck you, that's why.

What's interesting about this is that, in the US, you're more likely to actually get a refund from Apple than you are, say, Epic, which was part of the reason Epic tried to sue in the first place. They wanted to be able to rip people off with their microtransactions without Apple doing anything to prevent it. There are obviously problems to Apple's walled garden, but there were a few perks, too, in that you couldn't really get tricked into buying anything or have to fight to get a refund (Well, as long as you didn't abuse refunding through Apple, anyway.)

I think it was a jab at how much they charge for doing it, not necessarily that they come up with a different return number.

They clarified it was, indeed, what the services cost, but they also implied they went in person, which makes sense. In-person services definitely do have a much higher cost.

The H&R Block online software is worth using, I think it's even free, or a very minimal cost, but you do have to do everything yourself, there's nobody doing it for you.

I assumed they were talking about the online software, which they clarified they were not. My bad.

Sure, but why just be fine when you can be more than fine? The point is that Rock clearly doesn't need WWE for relevance, he's more relevant than they are. Now, to be fair, it's not necessarily WWE using Rock for relevance, either, since, as you said, they're currently "fine." It seems like a mutual thing, if anything. Rock still legitimately loves the business, and WWE loves the ratings bump.
