Where the Angel I grew up with purposely crashed a helicopter hoping to kill himself when his wings had to be amputated and he could no longer fly on his own.

Is this the main comic version? He did not plan to kill himself. If I remember right, Angel wanted to get into the air so he flew his private jet. However, the villain who orchestrated the amputation of his wings, sabotaged the plane to make it look like Angel committed suicide.

Hated the mytharc of X-Files. Went on too long and felt disjointed. The standalone or MOTW episodes are the best part. Another show with a similar experience was Supernatural.

The only thing I didn't like about TNG were the season finale cliffhanger episodes, when it initially aired. Not a problem now, though.

Aside from them and the original, there were other Captain Marvels.

I'm guessing those weapons are optional equipment. The sword could be gifted by or taken from a European. The longbow's design is normal for wealthy Japanese during that time, especially if they are from a prominent clan.

From the NES era, I had some difficulty with Ghosts 'n Goblins and Castlevania II: Simon's Quest.

You could only get the true ending in GnG if you have a certain weapon and after completing the harder "NG+". After I finally finished this game, I never replayed it and swore off the rest of the franchise.

Simon's Quest was not actually difficult but the NPCs lie and I got stuck. I was able to get unstuck when my grade school classmate happened to have a Japanese gaming mag which showed how to summon the tornado.
