It's one thing if you snap a photo of a celebrity and there happens to be someone behind her. But when you specifically arrange a glamor shot like that, it's never an accident when someone or something is in the background.

There are two eligible males in that photograph that the photographer would like to see Tifa with.

If you say no, you doubt Chuck Norris's well-documented ability to catch his prey with a 100% success rate. If you say yes, the inference of "catching a cold" is that the cold actually has a hold of him. Once again, you endanger yourself by attributing mortal weakness to the Chuck.

Since the Eyes of the Ranger are upon you always, you must think carefully about how best to not end up on his extinction list.

Become a COA its way fuckin easier AND less stressful than being a pharmacy tech. Its a similar path as well. You get hired on as an OA, learn on the job, take the exam in 6-12 months and become a COA

My being a pharmacy technician is a bit of a technicality now. What I actually do is interview hospital patients about their medication history. I make more per hour than if I were working retail pharmacy. I might be able to limp by for a while on retail pharmacy pay if I lose this job. Or I may have to rent out my spare bedroom for $400 a month to compensate.

I'll have to speak with my manager on Monday to see what she recommends. But this might be the end of my employment at the hospital that I work for.

2007

This is back when animated movies aimed at kids were were allowed to have grannies chasing after mice with shotguns. We've gone from "Still a better love story than Twilight" to "Edward is a pedophile."

Whether we've progressed or regressed is up for debate, but standards are so different now that the mid-to-late 2000s feel like they were two generations ago.

Study Tip: If your job requires you to take an exam, purchase the exam guide and study everything that is above your pay grade.

I had to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam for my job today. I had been told that most of the questions would be things that a pharmacy technician would know form having worked the job and that there would be a few curveballs. Out of a possible 5000 questions, 90 are randomly selected to establish competency in the field. Well, if the "randomly selected" questions had tiers to them, I guarantee that I received the hardest. I couldn't have passed that exam if I had a month off to do nothing but study. Even if I had purchased the study guide, I would have never dreamt that half of these questions could have been remotely relevant to the job at hand. I could have done better had I been taking an air traffic controller's exam instead.

I wish I had burnt the money instead. At least then it wouldn't be in the bank account of some corporate thief. Now I have two weeks to decide between dropping $225 to take the exam again (in addition to the $190 that I've already lost) or if I want to give my notice and find work elsewhere. I may actually be out of a job already since I have to wait a month to retake the exam and my 12-month trial period without being PTCB certified may have already expired by then.

Studio Ghibli films rarely focus on the characters themselves. It's a lot like epic theater in they want the focus to be on the surrounding events / underlining commentary rather than to get caught up on individual characters.

If you're to separate a character from their surrounding film, I think the Crimson Pig is the most fleshed out of the bunch.

Israel was absolutely partaking in genocidal actions long before they used 10/7 to justify turning Gaza to rubble. But now they're doing too much genocide and you can't vote for Biden if he won't cut off Israel from the bipartisan unconditional support they were used to? Why wasn't America's support of say... Saudi Arabia already souring you on voting?

Because I can't spend a dollar without a few cents of it going to Saudi Arabia.

Also, because like anything else, the amount of attention it receives plays a factor. Black Americans have been saying for decades that police have been persecuting them, but it took bystanders recording these acts on their phone for it to become the hot button issue that it is today.

But Israel hasn't engaged in genocide until now. They have a full-scale war going on and they're bombing hospitals and refugee camps. That wasn't going on until now.

Obama would have lobbied sanctions against Israel's government -- even if it "confirmed" that he was secretly a Muslim. (Emphasis on quotations marks. 'bama's a Christian. But all Republicans would vote Trump and take away a vote for Biden.

Doesnt seem to play out the same...

To keep the numbers simple, each vote listed counts for approximately 10 million people.

6 votes for Biden
2 votes against Biden
6 votes for Trump
10 votes against Trump

The end count is that Biden has 4 votes and Trump has -8 votes.

It's a much stronger "fuck this guy" statement than Biden winning.

Sci-fi and futuristic settings still want to ignore the internet, messaging and social media being a thing. People will talk via holograms and video calls or leave voice and text memos behind. The internet doesn't exist. Mobile phones don't exist. It's more likely that there's a futuristic version of a newspaper.

That's easy to take away though.

The government says no internet, that means no internet. It's not like you can start up an "internet generator" in your back yard. If there's no service to tap into, you're out of luck.

Most futures are dystopic, so that fits with a corrupt government. If you have a more ideal future without internet, it could be that they've learned we're not responsible enough to wield such power -- like how it invariably becomes a platform for spreading hatred and misinformation.

Like, a vote is +1 for a candidate. An anti-vote is -1 for a candidate. In the end, it plays out the same. If you're tied 20 to 20, it doesn't matter if the opposing team scores 1 point or you have 1 point subtracted from your score. They still lead by 1.

Why split hairs? Because I recognize the necessity for voting against Donald Trump, but I legitimately do not feel comfortable with voting for Joe Biden.

Option 1 is, "I approve of the persecution of Palestinian people, Hispanic People, Asian people, Black people, gay people, trans people, and women."

Option 2 is, "I approve of the persecution of Palestinian people only."

I don't support the persecution of Palestinians period. Israel has a right to exist, but no government has a right to engage in genocide. And I don't want to vote in favor of someone who condones it -- even if a worse option lurks as the alternative.

I want to vote against Trump. I know that means Biden winning by default. But I don't want to "help" him or show support for what he does. I simply want to prevent the greater of two evils from taking office.
