I can tell you from personal experience, that was purely a boot thing. After getting to the fleet, that shit disappeared fast. Never in my entire military career did I say or hear "at __00 hours". It was always just the first one or two numbers. And boots that called a pen and ink stick would immediately get clowned on. I'm sure there are plenty of units out there that aren't like mine were, but still I feel like I've seen the average Marine unit having been in San Diego and Okinawa.

False. Here in Korea, majority of my cafe meet ups have been in the evening. Only like thrice in my near two years, have I been to a cafe with someone else in the morning. Did more morning meets in the states, but evening meets weren't uncommon either.

Quality of dates was much better with Hinge. Met my current gf of 3 years on there. Prior I was using Bumble and Tinder and let's just say none of the dates I went on were ones I intended on making serious. Eventually switched to Hinge and immediately each one was like ... Yeah 24 is the way to go. Especially when you work with people all over the world. It's much easier to calculate the time differences using a 24 hour clock.

Also this one is a classic. Another big name mecha franchise is Gundam, but the franchise is so over saturated it's hard to get into.

Should you get curious, I highly recommend the OVA series Gundam: The Origin. It's more of political war drama than anything. Really easily digested by regular watchers. My girlfriend had never watched a robot anime except for Evangelion and she easily got into and enjoy The Origin

Edit: Damn no one else had recommended Samurai Champloo? That shows truly one of a kind. It's hard to say what's more enjoyable. I think both the sub and sub are great for it.
