Didn't take as much farming as I feared, just bumped Neko's talents slightly and swapped some disks around on Nicole + leveled her weapon. I also switched to the Ultimate buff, which might just be better than the dodge/crit one for how the points seem to skyrocket during stun windows. Ended with 22600 points with Neko. Still took some really tight play to get three full stun windows in with Caesar. Stunning Marrionette before their first signature move goes off is necessary, I think.

Maybe if I upgrade Nekomata and Caesar's talent levels to 11...and Nicole's I guess...I can grind out the points I need

Got Weeping Cradle from hitting pity on standard banner, which is a really good pull! But this is how I find out that even with her sig, it's still impossible to max Rina's core skill buff, lol. The most pen ratio you can get on her is 70.4%, she needs 72...this is less than 1% buff value so it doesn't really matter, but still, really baffling. I will probably just give this wengine to Astra Yao if I get her.

People are saying they're nearing the standard selector but I'm still like 40 pulls away for some reason. IDK what's up with that, but I'm not in too much of a rush cause I want to see if I lose 50/50s next patch. I think I'd prefer getting M1 Rina, but now that we need 3 teams there's an actual argument to getting Lyacon (or Koleda) even though I have Lighter...

My rules of thumbs have been:

• Attack units typically want to hold until stun window, assuming you are stunning fairly regularly
• Stun units use it when trying to build stun (after first stun)
• Supports restore energy to the team and extra to the next quick assist so you use it ASAP but when you actually get the energy bonus. OR you use those during stun windows for really cursed quickswap rotations.
• Anomaly units just blast unless you're really close to a stun
• Defense units ????? I just treat Caesar as stun

Of course you also have to play around ults giving unit specific resources like Miyabi stacks, Burnice meter, Zhu Yuan bullets

It also gives you a stacking buff until the next stun wears off, I think.

On that Neko run that came close I discovered when the boss does those attacks where it just rapid fire launches clones at you, you can actually perfect dodge and counter to get clone kills. I think that makes a big difference?

Yeah, I use Lucy for both Miyabi and Piper/Burnice, and usually just give Caesar to Piper, but she needed to go on the third team and I was just left with Rina for supports, awkward.

I'm also realizing that Lucy has to be glued to Miyabi if I want to use Lighter with her. If I run Miyabi with Burnice or Caesar, I'd have more flexibility, but honestly...I have WAY more fun with the Lighter team up, it just feels so good and goes crazy hard. Bad news for Evelyn!

8 stars. Bashed my head against it for a while and this is the best I got. Maybe if I had better drives (or maybe an S-rank support to fill in for Nicole...) I could get those extra 2k points.

First two were fine 3 stars with Miyabi/Lighter/Lucy on boss 1 and Piper/Burnice/Rina boss 2. Thought about going Miyabi on Marionette but I have no idea how to do that first boss without her.

Although it only seems like it rewards up to 300 polychrome for only 6 stars? So you only have to max two of the stages actually. I thought it would be more in line with Shiyu Defense, but I guess not.

Actually might have to build up another stun engine so I can take Anby off the bench, lol

Zenless has an advantage over HSR in weapons due to the main stat addition. In HSR, off path light cones are completely worthless. In Zenless, off path W-Engines can still be viable, something both Caeser and Miyabi can take advantage of until they get better F2P options.

That's part of it. Another part is that many of the craftable options are good. But another part is simply that most S-rank wengines kinda suck! For the most part, you're looking at a 10-15% increase over the best F2P option with a signature at W1. This is true even for Caesar, who doesn't have any good on-set options! It's just not a big deal.

Miyabi, meanwhile, has an unprecedented gain of 35-40%+. That is actually probably equivalent to an additional S-rank support.

Jokes aside: While Miyabi doesn't need her wengine to be the strongest character in the game, it's such a big upgrade that it's as of now the only engine in the game I'd say is worth rolling for as a f2p player. That said it really depends on how many pulls you're willing to give up with Astra and Evelyn on the horizon, if you have a plan for losing to the 25% standard drop, etc. The smartest thing to do is to wait for a rerun and see what your account is like then. In Genshin and HSR I eventually did get enough pulls to get comfy enough to pull weapons as f2p, but that's because I end up skipping so many banners!

Guy Gardner having a terrible haircut is, unironically, a big part of his iconic look. I'm not convinced by the little we've seen that they're getting the vibe across correctly, but his hair 100% needs to make him look like a doofus or an asshole, preferably both.

Battle Tower (which I should get back to now that I have Miyabi...) taught me to value Caesar's Ult because it refreshes her shield and restores Assist points, which is extremely helpful. Although...I think it no longer gives the extra points and only certain Defense characters like Ben and Seth have that now? I think Caesar might be the only character in the game whose Ultimate got nerfed with the changes, lmao.

(it also does extra stun to enemies with shields, but afaik every enemy that shields can also have it removed by inflicting anomaly which is way easier so that's fairly useless)

The much bigger mystery of this chapter is how the siblings were able to tank Bringer's point-blank suicide explosion. Their eyes glowing afterward implies it's something to do with the tech left with them by Carole but this could be a huge deal down the road.

I do like this as a cliffhanger. Maybe it's implying they are cyborgs or robots similar to Billy, though not for combat? We at least know they have cybernetic implants because those came up frequently this chapter, who knows how far that goes.

Wow they weren't content to powercreep Ellen in gameplay, she also got powercrept by other characters' cameos in the story. I think she had zero lines, unless she was one of the unvoiced ones. rip

Anyways, Chapter 5 story very enjoyable, even if the storytelling still feels a bit sloppy.
I'm left scratching my head at what exactly is going on with Miyabi's sword. So the villain goal here was to make the hand goop by uh...extracting the evil sword juice...except Miyabi's sword still has its cursed power because she was talking to it...also they needed her combat data to somehow brainwash her for...reasons...the connective tissue between events just feels super thin. If I missed some lore I'd love to be filled in because things started going a mile a minute from that point.

This doesn't include her +12/50% cr/cd from disks and sig, and I'm currently on AM 6 and will probably switch that to ATK% once I get a good disk. But god damn she plays so smooth.

Trying to convince myself not to convert residue into W-Engines. I did that to get one of each Light Come in HSR and regret it immensely....just need to put them all into pulls, dammit!

The standard wengines kinda suck ass here, they're like 5%, 10% gains at best over f2p, definitely not worth it. I think the one exception is Weeping Cradle, but even then it's not crazy good except for Rina (will probably be good for Astra too). In HSR there's a few that are really high value situationally.

I can't be 100% certain of the math against the BP engine but yeah CR on this thing is a big deal and this probably will end up being the best F2P option yet. Cool to see especially since I imagine this event will wind up in Ridu Chronicles so folks won't miss out on it like (the admittedly-not-very-good) Gilded Blossom.

Although, HSR implemented a way to purchase event weapons you missed, albeit at an agonizingly slow rate. Genshin has yet to do so, who knows for this game.

It should be much better than Starlight Engine since instead of pre-combat attack on the engine itself you're getting crit. Like this is just f2p BiS for every attack unit, right? Hell, it might beat the battle pass engine.

I'm tempted not to call it "essential" just because she's such an absolute monster in combat that she can honestly afford a relative 40% loss but either way it's handily the most impactful signature we've seen thus far which honestly I kinda expected for our first Void Hunter. Miyabi's probably going to be a powerhouse for quite a long time.

I doubt it's essential. People are claiming that even without it, her DPS on an A rank or Fusion Compiler is comparable to M0W1 limited agents. The signature is a huge upgrade though. Seems insane, which is the only reason I feel comfortable pulling for it over saving for another character even as f2p. That's enough to carry an account for a while.

I cannot even get a B on stage 7 of this Shiyu Defense. This time I survived, but ran out of time damn. I tried Grace/Seth/Jane for first half, but its just too slow and on the second half Lycaon died on me so I ran out of time with the boss at like 15-20% HP

It honestly might be Jane giving you issues side 1. Anomaly is doubly screwed against resistant enemies because not only are you doing less damage, you're doing less buildup. My Grace also really struggled here because she doesn't actually do a ton of electric damage? I hate the god damn construction robots. I'm looking forward to Harumasa just to have someone that can annihilate them.

Oh, Caesar/Astra combo will also work with Miyabi. Is that crazy, or just stupid?

Theyre different factions from the sound of it! And yeah Hoyo absolutely cooking with ZZZ characters. Im hoping I can use Evelyn in some other team/s without Astra. I got some of my Shiyu Defense stages converted to Ss now, but stage 7s second boss keeps killing me since I need more practice learning its attack patterns :(

With initial leaks so far, I don't think you have to worry. Astra is looking like a crazy strong generic buffer but doesn't affect playstyle much. So typical Attack, Stun/Defense, Support should be perfectly fine. Lucy is Astra we have at home. Right now, Caesar's buffs are only slightly worse (though of course, you could potentially use them together which is kind of insane).

My plan is still to go all-in on Miyabi but I am wavering now. But man my wengine options for her are so fucking bad, I want that house.

Asta Yao does really look like ZZZ Robin, lmao.
