The root of the problem is that Biden was picked because he's the only one that the " moderates" would tolerate for a president....EVERY other candidate was rejected as being" to hostile" to Trump supporters and that's why no one seriously even ran in the primaries...to " appease" moderates democrats can only offer safe candidates like Biden it seems.

It's incredibly frustrating that this kind of transparently performative bullshit is somehow not only not the death knell of multiple political careers, but will probably not lose them any meaningful number of voters and will probably even be successfully used to sway others, even in spite of the absolutely bumbling execution.

There are a large number of Republican traitors currently polluting the House with their presence who voted in favor of Trump's coup on 1/6.

Compared to that, their normal level of partisan clown show honking noises is nothing.

A trial is likely. I don't think they can suspend the rules to toss it, even with a supermajority.

Depends on whether the Senate shall have the power to try includes any discretion. I don't think so.

I think the Senate has to have a vote on the impeachment. The trial can be dealt with in 5 minutes, since Republicans have no evidence. IMO Schumer should dispose of this clown show tomorrow.

Where was this Greek chorus of whiners about Israel/Palestine in the D primary of 2020? Either doing fuck all about an issue that has been fundamentally unchanged for decades, or trying and failing to get any traction at all for their issues.

Either way, the only possible result of endless caterwauling about it now is to increase Trump's chances of winning. If that happens, Israel/Palestine is very likely to get a final solution that these complainers aren't going to like one bit.

I find it remarkably difficult to believe that these supposed single-issue voters would actually be so self-defeating on the only thing they care about.

They don't just impeach, they need an investigation first. There's been no investigation.

And likewise, I think the border was the condition they had for Ukraine funding, so this bill is also likely to die in the House.

Especially since Trump this past weekend pretty much told Putin he'd support him attacking NATO allies, so he certainly doesn't give a fuck about Ukraine.

A discharge petition in the House seems likely for this, which would get it out from under Johnson's control. At that point, a handful of Republicans defying Trump would lead to the bill passing.

In some (but not all) cases, that oppression amounted to the English authorities not allowing Puritans to burn witches at the stake. Unreasonable religious zealots have always been a problem, both for the colonies and later on for the US.
