I've recommended it to anyone who listens, and even some who don't. Especially because 2023 had so many high profile puzzle games (Cocoon, Viewfinder) that were so disappointing and superficial. Void Stranger shows what puzzlers can be and it totally raises the bar. I might even say it's better than Baba (prob leaning not tho). The forced repetition especially is super risky and interesting. But like Baba, it's a sokoban. The point of the game is to solve hundreds of block puzzles. When you solve a really hard block puzzle, the game rewards you with more harder block puzzles. No matter what, you need to be able to enjoy the puzzles. There's just no build up anywhere, despite having similar runtime as the origjnal. Also the whole color grading thing they were doing was a disaster though. I get the idea but they messed it up hard.

AAA gaming is not going to die; the institutions in AAA gaming absolutely could fall apart, sure, but big-budget games have a place in the industry and it's only mismanagement that will ultimately kill these companies (if it's possible).It's already happened. The layoffs have caused a brain drain in basically every AAA company, which has completely stalled the big-budget machine. Everyone from leadership to senior talent has been laid off or left the industry. So much time now needs to go back into rebuilding skills and training juniors. It's fine, but it will take a long time and result in a changed industry overall. People thought the pandemic would mean there would be a 2-3 year drought of games coming out, but it turns out everyone just worked really hard and released a ton of awesome games. Also I feel like Mandalorian didn't look this obviously "green screen" did it? Or have we already hit the diminishing returns on this fancy new projector tech already?
I feel like you can see brighter light bleeding around the edges of the characters, causing an effect similar to the green halo of a green screen. The spirit world looked pretty good though. To be fair, the original cartoon was also guilty of travel continuity errors like that. Taking weeks/months to travel to some spots, then later on traveling the same distance and back in one night.I don't think anything took weeks in the original. The whole show was like 9 months total, and that includes the explicit time skips like Northern Tribe training and several in S3. They traveled in days usually. But yeah I guess the timeline was pretty ambiguous. The key thing though is they always used Appa to go far distances. It was clear that Aang's glider was far slower with shorter range. Sometimes Appa could teleport but that's ok, since it's clear that Appa is the way they traveled far (and made his absence way more impactful). I think the most relevant poker strategy is understanding "if i throw away cards here, what are the chances of getting the cards I need to complete my combo". Which you can toy with by messing with your deck, but still relevant.Right, so it's helpful to know the 4/2 rule from texas hold em If you discard 2 cards, you multiply the # of cards you're looking for by 4, and that's the % chance you'll get one of them. If you discard 1 card, you multiply by 2. So if you discard 2 cards and you're looking 1 of 10 remaining hearts, you'll have a 40% chance to get one. I barely understand poker strategy but this sounds intriguing.There's very close to 0 poker strategy in the game, you just need to be able to recognize the hands. But the real flaw is, from my perspective, you want to center your run around either "Flush" or "One Pair". They're the most reliable hand types you can invest in safely, and reproduce every Blind. Anything else is just too risky.On my run I focused on straight and got the joker that lets you have gaps in your straight. That makes it way more reliable.
