I'm still so torn on whether to pull her or not. Anby is best girl but she's such a luxury pull for me vs just getting Qingyi. Why did they have to surprise drop her between Stars of Lyra and Mockingbird?

Also Anby's upcoming disk drive set looks to be Harumasa's new BiS. They're mocking me.

That's worthless! Pela already does SW's defense down ult as aoe! The entire problem is lack of aoe implant.

I thought that's what you were talking about because pretty sure in the story trial it IS aoe weakness implant because it has to line up with who you choose to buff with Mem.

Even if it does happen I have a hard time thinking it'll be anytime soon if they're about to release a different aoe weakness implanter

edit: Well ok maybe I misunderstood. The stupid jumping robot doesn't resist fire, therefore it is the Evelyn boss now. Certainly could get it done faster than Haru.

There's already some cool day one (I guess not really because of beta) Evelyn tech around. Normally she wants to get 3 chain attacks in stun but there's fun ways to squeeze more out.

1. Chain cancelling: On bosses with 3 chains, you actually want to chain to Eve, cancel the second chain, then swap to another agent to trigger the third chain attack back to her to get an extra one. Real simple but I didn't even consider doing this until I saw other people doing it. Lighter and Astra are a huge help with their free quick assists, but anyone can do it with a normal or EX special. What's more is that on manual chain, Evelyn's charge attacks don't trigger stun because you're already holding the button down, so when the boss's meter is still flashing you can charge attack into her chain animation, then change characters just before she snaps so that she finishes before you trigger the third stun chain back to her.

2. Astra ult cancel: Normally if you want to use both of Astra's ult chain assists on one character, you have to swap using a Defensive Assist or wait out the assist timer (bad). But also, you can just hold basic after Astra ults which will make her attack and leave her singing mode, but you keep the chain assists. That way after you do Eve's chain, you can swap back to Astra normally, put her back in singing mode, and chain assist back to Eve again. Simpler than it sounds!

She's supposed to blast out multiple chain attacks per stun but still does a few without it. I'll have to try to learn how to do her rotations in Deadly Assault I guess. The first thing I tried with her were the bosses for her last few core mats and those guys also just get murked

Did my weekly H0 run with Eve/Lighter/Astra. Intensity 6 which has been my default farm level. Couldn't fucking stun the bosses. Evelyn killed them too fast. Went again on Intensity 9. Actually had to stun while building the loadout because enemies are Demonized. Got to Bringer. 0 stun kill. Crazy work.

Like I probably could have stunned him with more defensive assists but since flashes were off they didn't happen much but...didn't need it. At this rate we're gonna need a Lost Void expansion sooner rather than later!

I'm thinking I should save my pulls since I've got Lighter, S11, and Ben, and Astra has no shortage of team compositions. Qingyi also still seems unnecessary. There's so much elec already. Granted not all of it is very high-tier. I also have my selectable 5-star and I'm really not sure what to go with. Koleda and Neko aren't very strong, and I could get M1... Lycaon maybe? Or keep getting levels on Rina?

Yeah if you have Lighter/(Astra or Lucy) that is honestly good enough to carry S11 if you don't care about Evelyn. Qingyi is only good with Zhu Yuan and Harumasa atm. Rina I think is only worth using on Grace or Yanagi teams but buffing her is pretty good if you do. Otherwise...yeah, not a lot of value so you can do whatever.

I also finally hit 300 but I'm gonna wait and see how my 50/50 on Qingyi or Anby goes before doing anything. Gotta figure out my pull plan.

They're on zzz.hakush.in and yeah they use old Notorious Hunt mats but there's a new boss for the other ones.

HOWEVER, Astra and Evelyn had their boss mats changed partway through beta, I would not even bother farming the weeklies yet

Won the 50/50 at pity! Debating going for her wengine or Qingyi but I think I'm gonna wait for more details on the 1.6 agents.

I've been replaying Elden Ring from scratch to try and see if I can get into the vibe for this, and obviously that's been a wonderful experience all over again, but.....yeah I dunno....even if it's not as live service trashy as I had initially feared it just seems wrong. I can't imagine this is a project FromSoft themselves pushed to do, feels like a Bandai Namco decision top to bottom.

I get being skeptical but they've repeatedly said this is a pet project for one of the other directors that Miyazaki himself signed off on, and there does not appear to be any sort of live service monetization, which would be the dead giveaway. You're just experiencing PTSD from failures of actual live service games!

I think the issue is mostly Starlight Engine too good. Crit is not as big a god stat with combat atk in play. The biggest argument for it isn't power level but that it makes your ratio easier to build. Like, Mercato Desire is a great f2p engine but it's still about as good to slightly better than Starlight Engine despite the crit. I would not be surprised if S1 Rotor just loses vs S5 Starlight, but I havent seen many calcs with it.

Much better! I also forgot: if you're playing him with Nicole, one of her Mindscapes adds another 15% crit, so you can take that into account too. I did not so I way overcap lol

I'd recommend moving him to 4pc Woodpecker if you're gonna be farming it anyways. I run that and 2pc Branch for crit damage and it just saves me the headache of balancing stats. Thunder Metal IS better on teams that Shock frequently but I'm super fucking lazy and hate dealing with the conditional effect lol

yup exactly. Lighter gives a shit load of damage%, Astra gives a shitload of attack and a bit more dmg%, so Pen disk 5 and 2pc are more attractive. But as always it mostly is gonna come down to substats.

I imagine calcs are also including sigs which will skew things more to Pen, for people using the F2P engines it probably matters even less

Tbh your attack seems really really low for The Brimstone. I've got as much on Mercato with only one ATK% disk. And yeah you just need more crit. You can afford to skew towards crit rate because his core passive gives 25/72 rate/damage but it's important he actually hits the crits. Haru is a huge pain in the ass to build because he really needs to balance all three offensive stats.

Consensus seems to be 4pc Woodpecker with some Hormone Punk truthers out there. Whatever 2pc works, Pen is only best with Lighter/Astra. All you really need to know is 4pc Inferno is a trap.

Alternatively she really is Bennett tier but Hoyo is about to drop a 5* replacement too. Natlan has kind of been the nation of strong supports.

Well I caved and pulled Aglaea. Took me another 50 pulls which I guess isn't the worst. I figure since my account is at the mercy of them releasing another dot support or buffing old characters, it can't really get much worse!

The worst part of it is gonna be relic and planar farming for shitloads of speed for her and RMC. Hopefully I don't regret it!

Just now learning that if you have Robin/RMC in the same team and put Mem's Blessing on Robin, it stays active through her ult and she just vomits out double true damage the whole time

Well Caesar and even Qingyi - who people were convinced would suck - aren't too far behind for stunners. Koleda is a big downgrade but not awful. And for supports, Lucy is always good! So I think it'll be fine. It's more about speed and ease of use than unplayability.

That's a fair counterpoint. I think reddit commentators are biased towards highly skilled/invested players, but it could be right that the first DAs are below the difficulty Hoyo wants for endgame. I feel like Miyabi complicates things a little in that she can just brute force any mechanic (or maybe it's more she has the ability to play to every mechanic) while others can't. But in that case, it depends on if upcoming units like Evelyn and SAnby are also strong enough to brute force or not. If they are, and that's the new normal, we're creepin.

And admittedly it's a little moot since 7-9 stars don't give polychrome anyways, stuff like the Battle Tower shows they're willing to put experiment with high-difficulty modes that don't affect pull income. Which is nice, honestly! I'm waiting for Evelyn to drop to try to climb the new one. But my paranoid side thinks they're gonna eventually budget polychrome into that stuff once they figure out what works.

On that note, someone put together the way DA gets scored and HP totals adjusted. And looks like we are officially entering the powercreep era of the game.

No, the 3* is perfectly fine. Her LC is nice but doesn't make a ton of difference from what I understand.

The 4* shop one is for Remembrance Trailblazer, the passive doesn't work for Aglaea

I tried the trial Aglaea out in the combat event with RMC and my Robin and Huohuo. It felt...ok? I was able to get max points, and Aglaea only fell out of ult stance twice, one at the beginning during buff setup and once in the middle of like wave 4-5. Very finicky and kinda at the mercy of Robin and Mem's schedule, but seems workable?

I won my 50/50 on Robin, then threw an entire pity at the gold girlboss and lost to Bailu, a character I forgot even existed. Oh well.

I have like 200 wishes still but the smart thing to do is probably to save for Castorice and Sunday. At the very least I'm waiting until the dust settles on Aglaea reactions and Castorice leaks before anything else.

It really didn't! The presentation/animation stuff, sure. But the rest? I didn't mind the lore or the puzzles, and the big environments were nice. My only complaint was that the characters are really underdeveloped right now. Besides that it was kinda nice to get a meatier update more in line with a typical RPG.

I don't know if buffs for old characters or them hitting Amphoreus story quest with the Luofu special is more shocking
