Hey. Let's be fair. The final boss of AAI gave us some grade A moments.

"Your diplomatic immunity has just been...revoked." So. BOSS. That and Palaeno teaming against Alba was just so great. If it ended there, I would have been happy, even though the climax was clearly the Yatagarasu part. I don't like E-5's ending that much, but I still think it's a solid case. Probably the best case from AAI.

Earthbound is one of those games I really like, but I don't know why I like it. I much prefer the more subtle humor in Earthbound as opposed to the more ridiculous things. I can't think of any examples in particular, though.

I really, really liked the music of Earthbound. And those backgrounds in the fights, oh man. And for what it's worth, I enjoyed the battles in Earthbound too.

It's pretty dumb of Chihiro to want to train with someone at A) The night right after Monobear made his embarrassing secret proclamation and B) Training with someone who clearly has defined ideas on what a man and a woman should be like.

But who knows, maybe things will take a turn. Yamada still has to say his defining piece of evidence and orenroren said that all motivations for this chapter will be revealed.

That update was beautiful. At first, I was like "Togami why the hell would you do that", but upon further thinking, yeah, Togami just basically got Syo into a corner.

Mondo being the killer is pretty likely, upon hearing the evidence for it. I don't think Mondo talked very much in the first trial either. He doesn't seem much of a trial guy.

What I find odd is that Kirigiri is reaaaaaaally quiet during this whole time. I love how Hifumi's shocked animation is facing the opposite direction of Syo. Also, the fortune teller is like ALWAYS in his :o sprite. It's great.

Negative energy, indeed. I personally don't think there's a single bad PW case (Outside of 4-0, but I don't want to think that's really a case), but for most people, I imagine there's only about 3 bad cases or so.

Game ranking: 3 > 2 > 1 > AAI > AJ
AAI Case ranking: 4 > 5 > 3 > 2 > 1

Sounds about right. E-3, E-4, and E-5 are all great cases. 5 probably has some of my favorite moments in AA history and E-4 is just all good. E-3 has an amazing, albeit convoluted plot. E-2's mostly alright, but I love some of the later moments in E-2. E-1 has Portsman goodness awwwwwwww yeah. Also, BOSS Edgeworth in the beginning of E-1. All good cases imho.

Also, I heard this joke in the SA thread, but it's great. Someone said that Kirigiri is a Super High-School Level ???. Like...LITERALLY a Super High-School Level ???. Her talent is being really damn mysterious. So great.

Kirigiri might be Genocider Syo, but she seems too stable for that. Who knows, though.

I just went through SA2 recently after finishing Generations. Here's what I thought:

-Controls are SO bad. Homing attack after Generations was especially bad, but it's not too bad after a few stages. I just remember going "why the hell is it not homing". Sonic/Shadow stages are really fun, for the most part. The "streetboarding" parts are pretty wonky at first, but again, practice.
-Tails stages are horrible. Eggman stages are better, but still kind of eh. It wasz a really interesting concept, but I felt it failed really hard, ESPECIALLY with platforming. Eggman stages as a whole are just more fun because it focuses on the whole shooting concept while Tails deals with platforming.
-Knuckles/Rouge stages are...okay. Aside from Aquatic Ruin and Mad Space, they were neat. Also, my god, Knuckles and Rouge can run really damn fast and the controls are terrible. I just kind of wonder why they put so many interesting mechanics when the whole point of the stage is to find Emeralds as fast as possible. I don't like treasure hunting as a whole, but it was okay here.
-Kart racing, hell yeah. Only 2 stages for kart racing is pretty good and I like it.
-Biolizard, still good. Every other boss, however, ehhh. Even Finalhazard is kind of "lol". Final Sonic/Shadow fight in particular is really bad and get ready to hear a lot of THIS IS THE ULTIMATE and CHAAAAAAOS CONTROOOOOOOOOL
-That voice acting is still laughably bad. Even moreso.
-Man, getting A ranks is really hard as hell. Feels weird considering S ranks in Generations are "lol". Even Unleashed wasn't so bad in comparison.
-Chao Garden, SO DAMN GOOD.

Well, the last topic purged. "whoops".

For those who didn't see the first topic, let me try and sum it up. Basically, this game is currently being translated by orenroren, the LPer, and it's pretty awesome. "PW meets Battle Royale" pretty much sums it up and it has its fair share of twists. The plot is pretty damn awesome so far. All updates are in the first post of the SA topic.

Right now, it's currently in Phase 2 of Chapter 2. Oh yeah, and it also just updated.

Because the gameplay wouldn't translate well at all thanks to the "bullet evidence" thing they have going on.

Actually, a user is putting in orenroren's translation and, surprisingly enough, when the words on screen became English, the hitboxes transformed to fit the English size.

The reason it's probably not gonna get translated is probably because:

1. Probably as very low market, due to being a PW-esque game on a PSP.
2. Bunch of Japanese culture that's hard to localize.
3. Probably not a big enough localizing company to do all of this.

The game is called "Dangan Ronpa". The LPer, orenroren, is translating it as he LPs the game and it's just very cool. The plot is great. I don't want to give too much away, but basically, 15 extremely talented/celebrity-like high schoolers have a decision to either live in a secluded high school for the rest of their life or kill each other in order to escape. Oh yeah, and there's also a "masochistic teddy bear with Doraemon's voice".

All the updates are in the first post of the topic, but you could also read the rest of the thread. It has a lot of speculation since pretty much nobody in the US even knows the game existed until the LP. Plus, there's some cool stuff like fanart that orenroren posts throughout the thread.

Slick is too damn classy and is just great. The whole Slick/Snowman/Scratch thing was great. And Droogs? Droogs is just god damn amazing.

Yeah.

I also recommend not listening to How Do I Live (Bunny in the Box mix) because it takes away a lot from the flash. But it's still amazing in flash form.

But yeah, Black Hole, Green Sun. Amazing song, but it's absolutely horrible to listen to it before Cascade.

City Escape Modern was really short. Classic stage was great though.

Also, Sonic Boom is pretty much the best challenge song. With the exception of Super Sonic Racing for any clone challenge.

Traps in Marble were hard. But only, like, on the first few tries.

The problem with Sonic 1 is that damn Spring Yard boss. Why do I have so many troubles on that boss. And of course, Labyrinth, but let's not talk about that.

how about dat adachi and dojima. But yes, P4 is amazing. I liked some things about P3 and how it raised the stakes, but P4 seems like a much more complete game overall.

i don't think anything as lasting from the case itself came out of 2-2 or 2-3.

Wait, what.

2-2 is a really important case when you consider the entire series. 2-3 is kind of throwaway, but then again, which X-3 case ISN'T throwaway? At the very least, 2-3 helps tie in the theme of PW2, which is the whole sympathetic murders thing. The whole thing about Dr. Grey being a jerk while Miney killing him for ruining her life was bad enough, but 2-3 just kind of blows that out of the water with the whole Acro/Regina thing.

Now, 1-1 may be simple, but it was an incredibly engaging, well paced introduction that drew you into the game very well.

But I also think almost every single PW case did the exact same thing, too with the exception of a certain AJ case. I think 1-1 is a solid introduction. The only thing I would improve is the pressing and the writing. 1-1's writing just felt really off, after playing through the entire series. I think 2-1 just flowed a lot better and was more enjoyable.

Larry Butz in general. Yeah, I'm not seeing this "1-1 is bottom tier thing".

Larry Butz is completely amazing. It's not so much 1-1 is bottom tier as it is 1-1 isn't as good as every other case.

Can we all agree that the monstrosity that is 4-3 is by far the worst case?

If we count 4-0, I think there would be no doubts that would be the worst case, by far. I actually kind of like 4-3, but it's definitely Bottom 3.

Toxic Caves is pretty great. The bar is also the best thing about Sonic Spinball, by far.

I guess I'm the only one who actualyl likes most of Justice for All outside 2-4 (though 2-4 is still DA BEST)

I mean sure Case 1 is like a 5/10

but i'd give Case 2 and 3 somewhere between a 7-8

Nope. I love JFA. PW3 > PW2 > PW1 > AAI > AJ. I think the only one who shares this opinion with me is Naye, which is funny considering our wildly different character rankings.

I loved Case 1. Not to the degree of 3-1 or 4-1, but probably more than E-1 and definitely more than 1-1. Case 2 was solid. Case 3 isn't great, but it gets way too much hate. 2-4 is pretty much the best.

2-1 has to be the single worst, most mind-numbingy dull case in the series

I will never understand how people think 2-1 is more boring than 1-1. It has great contradictions and it has a pretty good way to end the case. Plus, it's just fun to play around and has some great lines (large bananas). Honestly, 1-1 is really kind of eh and it's one of the few cases I actually don't really like at all.

Also, 3-5 is an amazing finale. I don't think it's the best case (2-4, hell yeah), but I wouldn't have the ending to the PW trilogy any other way.

And the whole Guilty/Not Guilty thing, man, picking Not Guilty after getting the evidence is the best. "As always, the defense chooses Not Guilty!" That, complete with Phoenix's smugface just complete makes that scene. It's so great. But I can definitely understand why you would choose Guilty, since I chose that first.
