I want an Iron Man match

surely the best in the world would win that

Bah, Iron Man matches are highly overrated IMO. Just give them a singles match that happens to go 40 minutes.

Del Rio was traded from Raw to SD "for future considerations" though. Maybe they CAN move Bryan to Raw tonight and do a blowoff between him and Punk.

Because there's not really anything left for Bryan on SD, especially now that Big Show has lost the IC Title.

And yeah, Jericho putting his job on the line is probably the only realistic way they can extend things 3 more weeks.

I don't think it works if it's "Loser Leaves Town" necessarily, just Jericho's career.

TLC buyrates didn't drop any more than the normal 2011 PPV drop, so they know that No Cena doesn't necessarily destroy PPV success. Dunno about ratings.

Man, last night was such a great show to wake up and reminisce about, but Raw can't come fast enough. Where DO they go from here? If Cena is gone, then there's NO ONE left for Punk until you get down to Lord Tensai.

Sure, Brock could DEMAND an undeserved title shot, but I think they're saving that for Summerslam at the earliest.

Although I've never really had much of a problem with Hornswoggle.

Little People's Court was an abomination, and I hate it when he signs up for matches of his own free will and then we're supposed to feel bad when heels legally hurt him, but other than that he's never really bothered me that much.

These are all fine:

But then...

"The Great White Outlasts Bryan"

Sometime in the gap between UFC 149 and UFC 150. I've been watching 2 older numbered UFC events (plus smaller cards) in-between every real-time UFC numbered event since UFC 100, if that makes any sense. UFC 150 is the end of the project.

UFC is so hit or miss for me. The good fights are really entertaining but... wow when they're bad they're bad. 8 times out of 10 UFC groundfighting are the most boring thing to watch in sports.

I love groundwork a lot more than most standup. I'll take a jiu-jitsu/wrestling based match over a kickboxing/muay thai match usually. As long as the guys are WORKING it's all good though.

Kane I forget, but he got the rematch against Angle by throwing a hissy fit and not showing up for 2 weeks in protest until he got one.

Much like Bret Hart's 1997 heel turn, an oddly prescient angle considering what would later happen in real life.

It's the holy grail of the lazy writing staff, so probably around...2003?

I'm trying to think back to Champions of that time. Going back to 2002, none of these Champions got an immediate rematch: Jericho, Triple H, Hogan, Taker, Rock, Brock, Big Show, HBK. That is in fact all of them (except Triple H did get a rematch after losing to Shawn in the Chamber, the one exception). It's safe to say that trope didn't exist then.

Fast forward to 2003. Angle got a rematch against Brock. Brock got a rematch against Angle. Triple H got a rematch against Goldberg. Goldberg never got a rematch.

2004: Brock never got a rematch (due to retirement), Triple H got one, Eddie got one, Benoit got one...I forget whether or not Orton got one.

(and then in 2005 JBL and Triple H both got one, and those were the only title losses that year)

But that's enough evidence for me to confidently state that the concept began in 2003.

And then 2014 will be the 20th Anniversary of The Night the Line Was Crossed and the name change from Eastern to Extreme.

And then 2017 will be the 20th Anniversary of Barely Legal

Something that Storm didn't mention that I thought was kinda strange:

Why were all the heels bending over backwards for Eric? Why are they so loyal to a man who no longer has any power to assist them anywhere in the industry?

Gunner I can maybe grant having that level of genuine loyalty for a guy who gave him his first big break, but Bully Ray? Flair? Daniels? Kazarian? WTF do they care that Bischoff gets a Rolex and sits on a throne on his way out the door. They're all hyper self-interested.

I really think it would have meant MORE to see them all turn their backs on Bischoff now that he was impotent, demonstrating with absolute clarity exactly the sort of person he was and the company he kept.

If Ziggler hadn't spent so much of his career so far as a jobber, he'd some like the best fit for Flair.

From a credibility standpoint I agree, but I do also think from a character standpoint that Dolph Ziggler is not a leader of men. He's not necessarily a follower either, but I see him finding Tully's niche in the group far easier than I can see him taking command of three other people.

I think Cody may at least possess more natural leadership.
