I liked both, but now that I've let it digest a bit, (Frankenstein spoilers) I do wish the film kept that the creature became very spiteful and started targeting Victor's loved ones out of revenge. I don't know if that would still work for this version of the creature, but there was more nuance in the feud from the book. I did like the change that Victor abandoned the creature not out of disgust per se, but frustration from his failure as a parent, which calls back to his daddy issues from the beginning.
Salo, probably.

Maybe I'm a little out of touch since I didn't play HK until it was complete so I don't distinguish the DLC from the rest of the original release like that?
This is likely what it is. You have to understand that PoP in HK was not in the base game and was added later. Both PoP and NKG are generally considered harder than anything in Silksong. Basically Silksong starts assuming that you were able to clear original HK, so it starts off at the level of difficulty around HK's midgame. Once they eventually do release updates I'm sure Silksong will be considered harder.

Can't comment on the Pantheon DLC in HK1, I figured those were meant for people that are super freaks at the game.
I've known excellent attorneys who had to retake the bar 3+ times to pass - and California's is considered the most difficult one. But you do have to buckle down and study for it without distractions for weeks, which I don't know if she's willing to do. But I don't see why anyone would be clowning on someone that couldn't pass it right away, it requires a lot of general knowledge about types of law you're realistically not going to be reading about much after you pass.
Theyll use strength feats of Ash casually holding Pokemon no one has any business handling, like Cosmoem whos like 2 tons. Its probably gonna be about whether Yami can inflict a penalty game faster than Ash can strangle him, I guess. This is a bottom of the barrel DB concept.

Gotta Catch Em All is one of the few instances where other foreign dubs translate the English opening, and not the Japanese one.
First three movies are amazing, second one is my favorite. I did like the first remake though, haven't seen Rise or Ash vs. Evil Dead.
You'll catch up if you keep at it. I decided to reread the first half, at two volumes a day (about 20 chapters) and it took me about a month. The chapters in the second half are more dense, so I wouldn't do 20 chapters a day of those. But you can definitely catch up if you're reading constantly, in about 6 months if you're not rushing.
... Did you skip the Chuunin Exams because you thought it was filler?
Google's pretty bad now, so it is harder to just look up accurate information on there. I do get annoyed when people make threads asking very commonly asked questions - you should at least do a quick search on whatever board you're on to see if someone's answered your question earlier. I'm not gonna grief them about it though, I just don't bother posting.
I kept a Shiny Cubone that I caught in Soulsilver unevolved just in case in got a divergent evolution later, which it did with Alolan Marowak. I forgot to evolve him in S/M before I transferred him to Home though, so he's stuck as a Cubone until they give me a way to access its Alolan form again.

I mean it's some of it, but I don't think the gender gap was that big when the military service was taken a lot more seriously. Nowadays they're treating it like a brief 1.5 yrs workout vacation, and most of the harsher military traditions have been phased out. They still need to do it cuz of NK, but most of them don't think the war is happening, so they're basically being a lot less strict.

There's no real reason for all of that animosity stemming from this now.

Yeah what that guy is saying has a tinge of racism to it, considering half of US is stuck even further back. Korea in the 1950's when it was war torn is so much more different, but also modern Korea is so much more advanced than US in many different ways. For starters, their education isn't in shambles, and they don't have a literacy problem. I suppose Americans back in the days didn't have a literacy problem, so maybe he's got a point.
Thanks for the context, I've only heard about those issues in passing, so it's not something I'm knowledgeable on.
My understanding is that some of the animosity comes from the mandatory military conscription for men that women are exempt from over there. There used to be more of a wage gap between men and women to "justify" it, but since the gap's been closing in recent years, they felt like women are getting the bonuses without having to deal with the draft.

I'm sure there's more to it than that, and I'm not trying to justify it.

Yeah the whole situation is of her own making lol, I was struggling to get entries tbh and she is pretty iconic
I think more because she's annoying than anything morally. The other main "friends" don't constantly stop you with prattle the way she does.
Beatbreak's still chugging along, episode 5 was fun. Can't believe we still don't have Gekkomon's champion yet, if he doesn't get it in the next few episodes it'll beat Tamers as the longest the lead Digimon's gone without digivolving (I think Growlmon comes in episode 8 or so).

I heard Bleach isn't as popular in Japan as in the west. I think in Japan they replace Bleach with My Hero Academia maybe
Big 3 was specifically a western thing, Naruto isn't even on par with One Piece over in Japan. There's no altering the Big 3, it's just a capsule of time in the 2000's when anime/manga was going through a big boom over here, and those were the prominent battle shonen at the time leading the charge, so to speak.

All gen 1-2 starters. Newer ones are broken while the OGs are left weak and forgotten. Don't care if they got megas/gigantamax forms, not all gens have those.
Oh, poor Charizard, won't someone feed him another five gimmicks/buffs? He's starving.

At this point it's the Sinnoh starters that need something, they're the only starters that haven't gotten anything significant since their original games besides Torterra getting Shell Smash recently.

The funniest part of that is you later listen to dialogue from actually ancient characters like Emet-Selch and none of them talk like that. So he's not even really speaking in an antiquated manner, he just likes Shakespeare.

Explain.
Madoka isn't aimed at young girls, just look at the fanbase around it and the director's other works. It's a bit harder to define as an anime original, but it's probably supposed to be a seinen.

On a similar note, Inuyasha ran in a shonen magazine so it's not a shojo either, though it does get confused for one a lot because of its prominent female fanbase.
I would say entrapping Ernie by deliberately leaking information to him since Chuck expected him to warn Jimmy, and firing him for it is a pretty "bad person" move. As does letting Howard take all the blame for not hiring Jimmy as an attorney, and just the general emotional manipulation he puts Jimmy through (like exacerbating his mental illness to get Jimmy to confess to altering documents) are pretty bad.

He's not evil, but he's definitely not a good person.
Just played it for the first time this year, though I did know a few of the big moments due to pop culture osmosis. It's definitely a game defined by its small vignettes over the big arching story. There's obviously the Gestahl Empire threat as the main plot, but it's moments like the Phantom Train and some other ones later that don't contribute to the main plot that are memorable. It definitely feels more episodic than a lot of other JRPG's I've played.

I will say I see what they were doing with the ensemble cast, and I definitely had my favorites, but I do prefer tighter casts with more individual characterization.
I know some esoteric vampire lore regarding weakness to silver, it's traced back to Judas being the first vampire in some stories. After Judas betrayed Jesus, he was cursed with undeath, and vampires' weakness to silver is derived as punishment to his progeny for Judas taking a bribe of thirty silver pieces.
I usually just do it if I end up accumulating a good amount of souls after hitting a bonfire, but not enough to hit a level. That way if I die I'm not feeling too pressured by the corpse run.
It was good, but the dialogue seemed off -was the stilted dialogue from the male characters done as a stylistic choice? They sounded like the English speaking rich people in Squid Game.

i disagree with your interpretation of the thread. I'm sitting here genuinely reading peoples logic and my inability to see that perspective is not for lack of trying

i dont see why venting needs a retort or isnt civil. insulting a game isnt insulting a person who likes that game

like genuinely
If you are genuinely trying to see someone elses point of view, you need to temporarily drop your own biases because theyre already making you see others opinions unfavorably. At least start with, maybe there are times when whining is understandable, and at other times verbal flailing wont get people to want to help you.

If you arent willing to accept any nuance to the discussion, then I wouldnt think youre genuinely trying to understand someone.
Dungeater posted...
well because "git gud" is intended to be smug to someone
And thats peoples issue with the thread, you already had that opinion when you made this thread, and clearly no ones changing that. You made it seem like you wanted to discuss it, but you dont seem willing to understand anyone elses opinion. You framed it as a debate, but youve only listened to your own answer.

People understand why someone would want to vent about something difficult. But maybe people also get tired of hearing a ton of people constantly venting about trivial things. Maybe both sides should be civil.

i dont understand why you responded with that

i also dont understand why youre responding with this
Hes asking why you think its appropriate for people to get upset by git gud but other people shouldnt be upset by people whining about a video game. That one side of this interaction has to have all the grace when the other side is coming in already aggressive.

This thread is heaving lean towards only one side gets to complain and the other side has to deal with it. I dont know if thats your intention, but thats how its coming across to some people here.

ok why is ranting about a boss being hard a bad thing

gamers where doing that for a LONG time with out any issue

why is wanting a difficulty option a bad thing

yes creator vision and people are allowed to critique that vision
Youre allowed to critique that vision, but thats why youre getting hit with git gud. If you were to come at it with actual notes of what youre having trouble with, you get constructive feedback. Otherwise youre just starting the easy mode debate again, which both sides are sick and tired of. And then you receive git gud responses, because they dont want to converse with you at that point.

I find that if you actually ask Souls fans for tips and advice, they will give it to you and help the most they can.

If you go in and cry that a boss is too hard and demand nerfs, then people are going to just say 'git gud' to annoy you.
Right, it tends to be how you approach asking for advice.

As for the thread - its exhausting to be patient with complainers. If its just one in a vacuum, yeah its probably fine. But if its multiple people, every day, complaining about the same thing you like, youre probably gonna get dismissive with them. And if its a repeat offender who behaves poorly on multiple occasions, sympathy just flies out the window. Not saying its a good mindset to have, but it is a defense mechanism to toxic behavior. Obviously it also feeds into some form of toxic positivity, but thats preferable to some.

TMS E7

I uhh watched it, wrote my impressions, and then my computer had to restart and I didn't press post I guess.

Lots of stuff happens and Farfa keeps drawing completely bonkers. Still, at least it's competitive, even if they're like 6 duels down
At least no games we thrown this episode. Kind of sad we didn't get to see the Altergeist pulls though.
I watched the first season - it was alright, but I could tell the story wasn't gonna finish any time soon.
I'd highly recommend just making the best of the situation and at least try to get along with the cats. They're not going anywhere any time soon, and neither are you. You don't have to let them in your room or anything, or over any other boundaries you may have, but at least giving them an ear scratch every now and then to endear yourself to them will go a long way in keeping the peace. You don't have to be an expert to be nice to a cat, literal toddlers know how to do it. Just make sure the cats fine with it, if you put your hand in front of their face so they sniff you, that's usually a go-ahead that they're fine with pets at the moment.

It sounds like you don't have to do any of the actual caretaking with the cats, like cleaning the litter box, feeding them, or spending money on them. So unless you're allergic, there's really nothing they should be doing to negatively impact you at all. Pets do actually relieve stress if you can get close. I say this because an attitude adjustment would help your situation out a little bit, so you might as well work with what you have. Because your other option is to just get more and more miserable.
It takes a bit for post-timeskip to get there - don't wanna say where I started really enjoying it again, but it does get there.
No, I was more of a "Series of Unfortunate Events" kid anyways when I was still reading. Like I still read them, but I wasn't hyper-fixated on them some people were.
People are able to get immersed in things while acknowledging there's a cycle involved. Your daily routine is a cycle, your body goes through sleep cycles at night, any type of event that has a beginning and end is part of a cycle that you end up repeating. If there isn't a familiar rhythm you're following most of the time, you'd probably get super stressed out.

If that bothers you, I don't know how you would live. It's like getting upset that you know there are actors in a movie.
I don't think Dancing Mad even clears the regular boss battle theme for 6, at least for catchiness. The Statue of the Gods is a peak final gauntlet design though.
I do, definitely more at home than when I'm at a restaurant though unless it's the type of cuisine where it's expected. Americans eat messier foods with their hands like wings and ribs, so there shouldn't be a problem.

Also, for the people thinking it's cumbersome because of the individual grains, you do realize rice sticks together, right? It's not like dry sand or something.

I've been reading for a while now and the part covered by this film is certainly a highlight. (Havent seen the movie yet myself though)

Hopefully we get more adaptations. I'd love to see people's reactions to Chainsawman Part 2.
I think Part 2 would definitely benefit a lot from an adaptation. Im enjoying Part 2, but the art did take a noticeable hit during the hiatus between Part 1 and 2. I blame that more on Jump, but notably Dadadans author stopped being an assistant after Part 1 to start his own series, and Dandadan always looks stellar.
Bump for day people.
They need to introduce some type of "catch-up" mechanic if they do these dice events again, I've rolled like 4 1's in a row. Of the last 8 spaces I've moved in like 40 minutes, I've revealed 6 out of 8 spaces.
It was really good, no complaints about pacing or anything. I actually enjoyed the more cinematic approach for Season 1, but I'm fine with a more simplified, closer-to-the-manga art style. I do wish they did let the colors pop a bit more during the action scenes. When they kill the Typhoon Devil the color shifts to the colors and shading of the first manga cover. I kind of wish more of the fight sequences were colored that way - I don't mind the lifelike look for the non-action scenes.

I was hoping the film would end on Denji waiting until night in the cafe, but they put it in the aftercredits. It's not a big deal, but Denji legitimately depressed because he never knew Reze tried to come back for him was the somber note I wanted them to end the movie on (before Power comes in lighten the mood at the very end).

Beam was best boy.
Are there still people that somehow dont know about this twist though?
Is it better than season 1?

am i the only one who thinks its kinda low key racist to use this awkward engrish names?
It depends on which ones you mean. We didnt know Raftel was meant to be Laugh Tale until a few years ago, and some people refuse to switch over out of habit. Personally Im never switching over to Arabasta from Alabasta even though the formers the official spelling, just because Ive been saying it with an L for like twenty years. Same with Elbaph from Elbaf - its not gonna happen.
Rotation for the sake of competitive balance is fine. But Pokemon Home shouldnt be a paid service if I cant transfer everything I have to the newest game. I shouldnt be charged extra because Im keeping up with the series.
Speaking more for the other Pokemon games because I haven't put much time into ZA yet, I think people get frustrated with a lot of the complaints because it tends to come from people who 1. haven't played whatever they're complaining about and 2. have not played any of the games in about a decade.

The people playing these games tend to agree with the criticism about the presentation - they're probably more aware of it than the people that don't play them anymore. Pokemon's been behind graphically even before they moved to consoles more than a decade ago. But when that's all you hear about from a select group of people for a decade, it gets grating, especially since a lot of the time the complaints come up when someone just mentions that they started playing one of the newer games.

Basically a lot of the complaints sound like those unhinged people that are still complaining about The Last Jedi to this day even though that movie's almost a decade old at this point. Go aim that vitriol at The Pokemon Company/Game Freak, not people just posting on social media about it.
