So the last topic I made eventually turned into a catch all Digimon topic so this shall be for general Digimon discussion! I still need to watch the new Beatbreak episode lol
Wild ARMs is still the best JRPG series in my opinion and we desperately need a new game in the series!

I bought the Switch Cyber Sleuth collection when it was 5 bucks on the online store. I just started, it's a weird game.

It felt like the collection didn't point out Hacker's Memory is the second game, but yes both are somewhat weird.

I've been playing Cyber Sleuth, myself. I'm on ch15.

It's my first Digimon game. And pretty close to my first exposure to the series, aside the few episodes on TV a very long time ago.
It's... a lot to just jump into. Lol.
What a fuddy duddy.

Yeah I checked which game came first since it wasn't made clear. This is the first Digimon game I played since the PlayStation games. Feels like it's trying to be like Shin Megami Tensei which is honestly pretty fitting for Digimon

Beatbreak's still chugging along, episode 5 was fun. Can't believe we still don't have Gekkomon's champion yet, if he doesn't get it in the next few episodes it'll beat Tamers as the longest the lead Digimon's gone without digivolving (I think Growlmon comes in episode 8 or so).

Honestly it's really annoying and weird that they didn't just turn ReArise into an offline game. Some gacha games did that when they finally close service, so it's not like it cannot be done.

Yeah, for Digimon with unclear/non-definite gender, "they" is fine, but when it comes to things like Jellymon and Leomon who are clearly intended to be female and male respectively......referring to them not as "she" or "he" respectively, feels weird.

I don't think Digimon have genders period. Yes it's weird when it comes to stuff like Angewomon but they don't procreate(other than maybe Xros Wars where parent Digimon are mentioned or something?) or anything like that. Japanese as a language also just does this more often and back in the 90s/00s I doubt it was because they wanted Digimon to be nonbinary.

I'd have to go back and watch the earlier Digimon shows to see if they've been consistent with non gendered pronouns. The US dubs were horrible with so much stuff so them gendering every Digimon sounds like something they'd do.

Japanese don't really have gendered pronouns to begin with, anyway.

But yeah, I can agree that technically Digimon don't have gender, because all of them are data. It's just that some Digimon gains a look or a personality that leans to a particular gender.

As a Guilmon fan I can't believe I didn't know of Medieval Gallantmon until getting it in Time Stranger. What really bugs me is it's not a part of the Guilmon line XD

So I didn't realize Cyber Sleuth was still running on m Switch. The system was off and the game in suspended mode but the timer was still running for two days. So now fifty hours were added to my game time and every farm Pokemon gained like fifty levels. Well the ones that could anyway. I evolved every Mon but they are all pretty much unusable right now since I can't put anyone of them on my team. I'm only on chapter one.

And not even from the same world as most other Digimon as it's from Witchelny a.k.a. where Wizardmon came from.
